I know you guys want to think Metallica was some extremely fast band that all of a sudden sold out, but For Whom the Bell Tolls, Harvester of Sorrow, Welcome Home, The Thing that Should Not Be, Fade to Black, Seek and Destroy, are some of Metallica's greatest songs that aren't very fast. Just saying it's funny how people ignore one of Metallica's finest albums because it was less fast.

But anyways, they were a thrash band from Kill Em All to ...And Justice for All and I gave you a several examples of songs that were not fast paced during those first 4 albums. They also have some very fast and aggressive songs on some of the later albums too. ex Frantic is more thrash then For Whom the Bell Tolls. Hell Death Magnetic was probably more thrash then Ride the Lightning from start to finish. As good? no.
