Who said someone had to be a Nazi or hate Jews to be in business and build cars. The political climate was such that one would give the impression that they supported the party
Regardless of the fact that Hitler laid down tough parameters it was a car for the middle class that
1) would be affordable
2) be able to get great gas mileage
3) be able to have minor repairs fixed by the owner.
Trying not to be biased, I do not see Ferdinand Porsche as a Nazi who hated Jews. If you can show proof of it then I will read or listen to it and perhaps think otherwise. Please do post any info on this, would love to find out the truth.
Both Ferdinand and Ganz both knew a tremendous amount about how to make excellent cars. Dirty nazis decided not to give money to the Jew and arrested him for being so. Porsche got the money so he did what anyone else would have done, he took it. Ganz could have been much better if the Nazis did not persecute him for his being a Jew. Maybe today people would be dreaming about driving a Ganz. Would apreciate better subtitles. Thanks for this video, it is important history.
@SaxManDanDotCom: I think Porsche & Ganz may have actually worked together for a brief time........I'll have to see if I can find the info.
My opinion on Porsche, btw? A bit naive concerning the Nazis, as they basically scammed him in the end(there were no civilian Beetles until 1945, and that was thanks to the Brits.), but probably a decent guy overall who may have been intimidated by his 'sponsors'. (P.S. I agree with you on the video. Very important. =) )
nazis gave to us many things that we still using like this amazing car, plastics, jet planes, rocketry, animal rights and more. it was a good goverment but sadly a shitty politic
@xpeperx: I have to differ with you on that. Truth is, a Jewish guy named Josef Ganz, really did invent the car(although Porsche made some improvements later on), and certainly, the Nazis had nothing to do with its birth(contrary to popular belief), in fact, the only thing the Nazis really did was confiscate the design.
The worst translation to english known to man.
A Martian would have done better.

clearly translated by a dutch dude! Fact is, Porsche had plans for a 'beetle' long before Hitler contacted him.

Something Detroit never wanted to do.
It was certainly a car for the people
It was, an all terrain vehicle.
