there could be many reasons. One is, that is just the way you are; some people have periods very late in life, some people have them early. However another thing is, intense physical activity can delay menstruation in a woman; many dancers, gymnasts and body builders are on average more infertile than less active women; I believe it has to do with the amount of energy put into exercise rather than using it for reproduction :) hope this helps
