@stinasings@sonia4055 The winners have been: Billy Connolly, David Pogue, Jennifer Ouelette, Hugh Laurie, Neil Patrick Harris, Larry Scotsman Johnson (San Diego audience member), Kevin Bacon, *Zooey Deschanel (Bogus win), Jim Cummings, John Goodman, *Jayma Mays (Bogus win), William H Macy, Ewan McGregor, and Wilford Brimley. Katie Couric was entirely deserving, but played before the introduction of the GMO.
posted ion you tube is a song played and sung by Hugh Laurie called either protest song or all you gotta do . if you watch the clips of it you can see he can play the harmonica . nothing flash but he can still play it .
I wish someone would actualy break it down on the harmonica not just play kid tunes , still cool though . Looks like there playing tremolo harmonica , i wonder why no one has thought of playing the single notes and adding treble with a hand fan or something , INSTAND GOLDEN HARMONICA WIN
i have seen hugh laurie play the mouth organ before on a clip posted here . the song is from a bit of fry and laurie called all you gotta do . search for the clip it is well worth it .
@Jericho1138 I don't know the name of the music, but they use it for the Angel Kitten closer as well, and I've heard it elsewhere (a commercial?). It's almost certainly a generic, royalty-free piece though. ;)
i'd win a golden mouth organ. i'm actually a decent player, and i think hugh laurie plays as well. i wonder if craig can actually play a decent harmonica or not?
I'd just like to point out that Ode to Joy is ridiculously easy to play, after all Beethoven was deaf when he wrote it. Oh Susanna is also easy but technically more difficult than ode to Joy, Billy Connolly had the best performance.
@FGP02 It's not only the difficulty though. Oh Susanna is standard harmonica fare (obviously, since it already came up twice!). The Ode was an unexpected choice, and made that win more enjoyable for me anyway. :)
@FGP02 lol, as if Beethoven's being deaf has anything to do with it. the basic melody itself may be considered rather simple but what he did with it in the actual symphony is justly hailed. (if you're just joking, sorry)
@airbeyonder18 OMG! I actually just wanted to respond this to airbeyonder18! I mean, great of you to say that...but I'm actually a bit scared right now.
@dr7ooob Hmmm, I have to disagree on that! My favorite Craig/Hugh segment was the May 2008 visit. *Nothing* could beat the two of them sitting on Craig's desk, gazing into each others' eyes! Tough to top that hilariously sexy moment. ROFL! I'll upload the clip for you to see. :)
beat the shit outta the table craig

The reason a lot of them play Oh Susanna is because it's first song most harmonica players are taught.
