i got my samsung LED monitor jst yesterday got it around 300 $.. model XL2370 specs are 23' screen 1920x1080 2ms 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio very slim..finger slim actually,, weight only around 2 to 3kg...
@GreenOldGuitar the new samsung 7 series has one million to one contrast ratio. this guy is adding sugar. to make it sweet. 1600 x 1200 is a shit resolution and 8 ms response time way too slow
I'm sure some can use it for some applications etc, but this is over rated in many ways. If I want to work on pics etc, I prefer working with what most people will be viewing with, an lcd. Sure you can go through amazing calibration etc but you can also calibrate many other monitors to work well enough for printing applications, and printing is usually so limited anyway. It's nice, but a bit over rated and smaller than my 22 inch which is a bit small anyway.
fixing my last comment is ORGANIC LED so u guys should erase this vid this monitor is a shit for real....those things are a lot beter than plasma and lcd in color, brithnes, and everything and even tha bigasss lcd or plasma hdtv;s have a little bit of ass but this ones are like papper but of course with tha case are likeone envelope thinck lol
Calm down buddy, OLED monitors aren't going to be mass produced until 2010. LCD still has some potential left and the current 11" OLED costs about $1,800. I dunno about you, but I'd rather buy a 24" back-lit LCD for half that than pay $1,800 for a dinky 11". You choose.
well yeah but is not wut i meant i mean they should erase this vid cuz is a reaaaaaaaly old like the first lcd screen lol the new ones lcd r alot thiner just saying they shoul update their vids and erase some cuz r old lol and i said abou OLED to tell them they should talk aboy=ut OLED rather than this in these days
daaaaaamn is fucking thick......and that thing like a hat is a shit.....have u tigertv guys heard about da new flexle led scree??? that thig is da reely thing of slim......is so thick like a papper(i think even more slim thougth) lo so this thing is from 90's i guess
"so lets talk about the difference between LCD and LED technology"
It's a pity he doesn't have a clue what he is talking about... the LED is in reference to the backlight (most LCD displays use a cold cathode tube), it's still an LCD display, it's the backlight that is better
it's also cheap... there is only one other LCD display that has an LED backlight and it was $6,000 last time I looked
You're absolutely right. I was going to comment on that as well. This IS an LCD display. LCDs themselves do not emit light, and they are partially transparent. Therefore, to make them emit light, there is a flourescent backlight behind the monitor. This monitor replaces the flourenscent with LEDs. The result is a a brighter, more natural picture that consumes less power, and will allow you to get far more consistent life out of your LCD.
There would be no reason to create an OLED lcd. OLED is a different technology than LCD. OLED emits light itself, so it requires no backlight. This is an ordinary LCD screen with a series of LEDs instead of flourescents as the backlight.
Led back light have a SMALLER colour Gamut than Cold cathode, this claim they have more is BULLSHIT usually about 10% less.

Welcome to a crappy product advertisment via your typical sly salesman.
The L.E.D. backlight technology might be awesome in comparisson to C.C.F.L. but, please, save the bullshit salesman speak.
