Boy do I remember this one, the first coaster I ever rode on, back in June of 1987--eighth grade class trip. I made the mistake of trying not to scream on that first drop--not a good idea. I also remember how rickety this contraption felt, and those holes or tunnels or whatever. My legs were jello when I got out. What a classic!

I remember the turns so if you wanted your date to be smashed against you just sit on the right side. Night time was so cool cause they had no lights in the woods. was pretty dark to heighten other sinces. On hot mid afternoons I remember the dark damp refreshing coolness of those long tunnels.

Im 39 now, when this ride came out it was the longest, fastest, tallest wooden roller coaster. I grew up visiting that park . I would always try to start and finish my day on The Beast. (5 or 6 rides on the Screamon Deamon between :) I have riddin all over the world and nothing compares to The Beast "over all" enjoyment. Maybe not for all but for me it was: the long long ride through the trees, the sound of metal clicking and boards rumbling going up the hill. dark night rides

It's a lot more fun if you ride it at night. I remember when they first built this back around 1980. It was the fastest roller coaster in the world at the time. Now I think it still holds the record as fastest wooden roller coaster in the world.
