This song is from Valle's first feature picture Vagabond Lover. I believe Valle also wrote it, as he did Goodnight Sweetheart. In those days it was unusual for a successful singer to also be a successful songwriter. I can only think of 3 off-hand—Vallee, Johnny Mercer & Peggy Lee.
looking for this gem finally found it by accident. thank you poster. great orchestration love the violin it sound high class rated highest 11+. ROGHARM
I've realized that I've went to Knoebes today, and I've heard this tune on the Frati 61 key organ that was in the grand carousel. I'll post the tune later.
Wow. I feel like the outcast here. Seems as if all of you are quite familiar with Rudy Vallee. I just discovered him this morning when listening to one of my favorite performers, Gene Austin. The amazing voices of these men allows me to drift to another time. I wish I was alive during the 20s. Maybe I was? Maybe that's what Im drawn to this era?
Rudy Vallee was one of my favorite singers back in the 1920's and 1930's. I remember going to see him perform lots of times. I bought all of his records.
After hearing this first on an internet radio station, I had to come to YT to see if anyone had a recording of it...maybe it is just me, but this along with "Kitty From Kansas City" are my favorite Rudy Vallee songs. I have always been for songs of any era that make me smile and feel happy about life. thank you so much for sharing this!
I'm posting this one more time, I hope it appears.
I LOVE IT!
Romantic Rudy is the Sweetest Sweetheart singing that honey sweet song and those lovely lyrics. I have designed my own lyrics. "A Little Romantic Rudy Each Morning" and "A Little Romantic Rudy Each Night!" Thank you so much for the delightful treat and RUDY!

You're entirely welcome--It's one of Rudy's less famous songs but a charming and engaging number, nonetheless.
Best,

I had heard it once before. I think he had performed it on a Betty Boop short.
