  • @SUPERDOOPERTUBER easy recipe 500g (16 oz) sifted icing sugar (confectioner's sugar) 450g ( 1lb) ground almonds 2 egg whites 1/2 tsp vanilla flavoring marzipan book 1 tsp lemon juice Sift the icing sugar in a bowl with the ground almonds. Add the remaining ingredients and mix to make a stiff paste. Knead until smooth. (As a substitute to raw eggs it is possible to use a little water mixed with brandy to bind the paste) good luck

  • mmm you can make those roses much easyer and beautifuller and if the marzipan sticks to much use some sugar powder NOT FLOWER !!!and the idea to use the shot glass is good but its not easy if the marzipan sticks to much if the roses are 2 cm they can brake and the results are not pretty xxx

  • ok ok waite... what was that!! first you say small cup when its a shot glass and how are you an expert when those didnt even turn out like roses? i mean come on lady you dont use circles to make a rose your suppost to use a teardrop shape and wow only 3 theres 3 in the middle then 5 in the center and then 7 on out outside... your showing peole the wrong way of making roses!!!

  • @kaara8722 you certainly can use sugar paste, i prefer to use sugar 'florist' paste to make flowers, it drys super hard and makes for beautiful roses as you can roll it so thin its see through :)

  • its better to buy the gum paste it's self. because some of the ingredients are hard to find

    You mean how to make marzipan? Marzipan is made of extremely fine ground almonds. You can find the recipe or even tubes of marzipan at candy and chef specialty stores. You will have to dye it the color you desire yourself, and you shouldn't use a food coloring that is gel based. :)

  • you nead almonds that have bin dipped in boiling water so you coud peal of the skin then you nead refined sugar and sirup made of potato or corn that is named glukos where I live and som refined sugar

    then you put that in a blender I beliv it shoud be around 40% alomond 30% glukos then sugar

  • having done this a lot of times during my cook-education in a restaurant, i can say that she overcomplicated it a bit, but looks like a pretty good trick for everyone at home, so nice done!

    they don't look "perfect", but hey at least your guests will know you made them yourself and didn't buy them!!!

    Marzipan is a confection made of sugar and almond meal. It derives its characteristic flavor from bitter almonds. Some marzipan is also flavored with rosewater. Persipan is a similar, but cheaper product, for which the almonds are replaced by apricot or peach kernels.

  • I think it's nice that she just presents basic ideas for the use of Marzipan, once you know what you're doing you can easily elaborate on it, but this is a good view for beginners.
