As far as going to jail, I went to jail in November 08. The steroid using cop put his gun in my face, cuffed me, hit me in the balls, and slammed me to the ground. I saw the violence first hand and he never found any weed, neither did the dog. I had to give it to them so I would not be charged with introduction to contraband. All this happened in the entrance of a gated community, not the ghetto! The jail stole my some of my prescription medication and mailed it to the wrong zip code.
I went five days and had a seizure due to drug withdrawl, my medicine showed up 10 days later. This was all caught on tape and thrown out, but I still had to jump thru hoops and pay a huge legal fee. The cop would not answer me when I asked him 5 times if he was on steroids, he arrested me for calling him a lazy asshole? That is not illegal, but it showed me first hand that it is guilty til proven innocent! Prohibition effects everyone that pays taxes and is a violation of civil rights!

You made me cry at the end Jodie. I'm so sorry for you and Marc. The jail sounds intolerable. We in the U.S.A. should not be telling Canada what to do. California will vote next year on Legalisation it seems. If it passes it will flaunt Federal laws and then we will see where things go next. Usually as California goes, so goes the nation. I guess theres somewhat of a silver lining to this incarceration. Without time to think or read and write, it sounds like he has found the muted voices of his fellow prisoners who are in need of a figurehead like marc to rally to the cause and he might just affect more change than ever before because of this time inside to build his own gangsters against prohibition network. The prison system of today needs serious reformation in probobly all countries around the world . Just because someone is convicted of a "crime" (whatever qualifys as a crime now adays considering it doesnt matter if anyone is harmed by what you do or not) doesnt mean they should lose the rights they are guarenteed as human beings and what they are doing to Marc is beyond sickening . I feel for you both hopefully the judge isnt a foolish asshole whos only conscerne is for whats in the lawbooks

We should have a pot rally outside the jail he is in with everyone armed with a doobie and light up at the same time and perform a massive act of civil disobedience. Can they seriously incarcerate 100s of people lighting up and if so, fuck it! It is one joint. Some type of non-violent protest should be done, any ideas? Please reply with ideas, thanks in advance!

Every day served is one closer to release. Prison is never going to be warm and cosy. Sounds harsh but he will get used to it, he has no choice.
So don't be sad be strong. Don't focus on the negatives.
Marc will do his time and be stronger for it, as will you both. It will be difficult but stay positive.

he did it for money... now canada is complying with the USA for economical reasons as well.
this is not about policy, or rights, or ethics, or love, this is about economics...

As far as going to jail, I went to jail in November 08. The steroid using cop put his gun in my face, cuffed me, hit me in the balls, and slammed me to the ground. I saw the violence first hand and he never found any weed, neither did the dog. I had to give it to them so I would not be charged with introduction to contraband. All this happened in the entrance of a gated community, not the ghetto! The jail stole my some of my prescription medication and mailed it to the wrong zip code.

I went five days and had a seizure due to drug withdrawl, my medicine showed up 10 days later. This was all caught on tape and thrown out, but I still had to jump thru hoops and pay a huge legal fee. The cop would not answer me when I asked him 5 times if he was on steroids, he arrested me for calling him a lazy asshole? That is not illegal, but it showed me first hand that it is guilty til proven innocent! Prohibition effects everyone that pays taxes and is a violation of civil rights!
