I am really looking forward to Into the Black, but two things: One, Sammy's acting seems kind of forced, just throwing that out there. Two, sound volume is pretty variable here, you might want to invest in some more mics.
it was a bit forced this was a last minute thing. at the end when the light is on me, I am litterally reading it off a paper, I got the script that night. and I need glasses, was rough but it came out ok, I am working on the acting tho.

I only WISH that the creeators of Fathr Ted ( Hat Trick productions in the U.K.) could have a look at this... you guys give your all.

Still I'm sure its going to be great, just try and sort the sound issues out before you get too far into it, it's really bad.

I donno what you're using for a mic, but its not cutting it. I did enjoy the writing. I thought the jokes were fireflyesque and pretty witty. Actingwise...not the worst I've seen, but not the best either. Keep workin on it. But honestly, I enjoyed it thoroughly and await the real thing with enthusiasm. Great job.
That's so funny, and if u think that was bad acting you should see some of the Star Trek fan films out there. I just watched one called Hidden Frontier, and I think I just shaved a year off my life. (They had pretty awesome cgi though) Anyway, christmas on Samsara, awesome idea.

Don't listen to all of the bad comments. They obviously don't realise how hard it is to make an indipendant/fan film (I feel your pain), and the fact that this was just a spare-the-moment special treat for the holidays.
Honestly, I thought that it was brilliant. I am definately looking forward to the real deal!

Dudes, we're not trying to be Firefly, but regardless this is a quick little skit filmed in 5 hours and editted in 1, save the judgement, hate, and flames for the full episode, where there will be actual sound work, color correction, and plot!
I mean, I understand the amount of effort which went into this - and this is not an insult to that work, as the set is pretty damned cool, and the idea and actual script isn't too bad... but the acting - and lack of interesting camera angles really spoils it. You have the right idea - but as of now, it looks like you're biting off more than you can chew. Best of luck in the future, it has potential - but too much room for improvement.
Have you seen Firefly? Generally their camera work is fairly simply, except for Serenity's intro. I'd definitely be going for more shots and larger shots, but when your working in a set so small your pretty limited, especially if your trying to copy Firefly's camera work, which is more wide than close.
That was absolutely terrible. I'm a huge fan of the original Firefly, and this is just an insult to the series to be related to it. Jeesus Christ, at least find people that can act.
We have a boom mic. We were trying out some new gear that didn't work well with the boom, and it was simply too much hassle with not enough people to help out.
we are not trying to be a lot like firefly, just in the same verse, and this is much more campy than our real episode, just a fun little thing for Christmas
Shouldn't "Jesus Hump" have been Chinese?

A dash of cheezy, and a crap-load of awkward. I would suggest getting a mic on a boom - the integrated microphone on your camera is absolute crap.
