The anti-Paulians are always misunderstanding Matthew 5:17-18. Jesus said:

"Do not think I have come to destroy the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish but to FULFILL. I tell you the truth, until heaven or earth disappear, not the smallest letter or the least sroke of a pen will by any means disappear UNTIL all is FULFILLED."

And what did Jesus come to do? FULFILL the Laws and the Prophets....

@nebulajr Lol. God forbid if anything in mainstream Christianity is acually true... -_- (sarcasm.) He meant basically the same thing as fulfilling prophecy. Look up Jeremiah 31:31. If you want a non-litteral interpritation of the Genesis account, look up the work done by Dr. Gerald Schroeder. I recommend a video here called: Gerald Schroeder Genesis & the Big Bang. I apologize for my earlier sarcasm, but I have little patience with hyper-skeptics.

@nebulajr Psuedo.... Skeptic. Jeremiah 31:31 is prophetic. Hence, the begenning phrase "The day is COMING declares the Lord..." Jews don't believe in a New Covenant. They believed, and still do believe the Mosiach will establish the Mosaic Law throughout the world. (that is, if they believe in a "super Messiah" at all."

@nebulajr I've seen that. You've misrepresented these verses horribly to support your bias. I don't know a single scholar who supports this translation. I keep an ancient hebrew and a greek scholar + theologin handy and I'm certain you've misrepresented these verses. No credible scholar would stand behind you. Even your "translations" in the beginning of the word "Eloheym." Later, with proper prenunciation "Elohim." Elohim means "god" and in the bible is attributed to God, angels and idols.

hey, you know i think religion is utter nonsense, but i don't think a cogent argument appealing to reason is going to change the mind of anyone who takes a book with a talking snake and 700 year old humans literally. People who do that have suspended disbelief to the extent that no obvious observation (snakes NEVER talk, people NEVER live that long) will change their mind.

But my point is, that most of the religious world population refuse to educate themselves and choose to stay ignorant of science but will hold on tight to the Bible and believe everything written in it. So what Im doing is proving that a literal interpretation actually contradicts what Christianity is all about.
