I had this disease as a child. I was the 3rd person every to have it in Newfoundland, Canada. I just got sicker and sicker, eventually I couldn't bend my knees, or later stand up. I spent 2 and a half months in hospital in a delirum. One day I just started to get better. I met one other child later who had it, as the doctor asked my mother and myself to drop by to lend support and hope. So sorry for you loss. I sympatize with what your child struggled through.

I have ITP too. I was diagnosed while pregnant with my son. I know that what I have is dangerous but honestly, since having my spleen removed I have not taken it too seriously. Seeing Casey and being a mom wakes me up. I am so very sorry for your loss and may her story be a lesson to us all. I will never take a headache the same again. God bless you and yours.
i have itp i got it when i was 10 now im 18 i had my spleen removed but before i had it removed i was on striods and every other medication...and after u get ur spleen removed u will be put on pencillin for a very long time
My daughter was diagnosed with Chronic ITP at age 4 and is now 11. We tried WinRho, which failed, and then they used steroids and IVIg treatments every 2-3 weeks. Last year they tried Rituxin, and then 6MP. Although, it did not put her into remission, her counts now stay in the 20,000 range. Casey is beautiful, and her video will help those with ITP share their experience and knowledge of this disorder to others. God bless your family and what you have been through.

He was given massive amounts of steroids that saved his life but, in result of the steroids he has depression and anger problems, but are glad we still have him. we are so sorry for your life you little girl is beautiful
I was diagnosed with ITP when I was 12. Last year, at age 27, I nearly died when my platelets dropped to almost 0. High dose steroids saved my life. My platelets are up to normal now, thank G-d. I'm so sorry that Casey died. She was beautiful.
I get ITP 2 years ago,my 1st diagnose trombosite is 7500(150.000 normal),i remember when my nose was bleeding,and it cannot stop,so the doctor should shut my nose with something big(as big as my forefinger and it's about 2-3 cm length)filled inside my nose..man!!that's...really hurt.
After 1 1/2 years i take a lot of medicine,they gave me a "medixon" drugs (now i'm already off from it)and my trombosite finaly back to normal,it's 275.000 now.
i also have ITP. i was diagnosed at 21 having it i am now 26. Cant believe there is so little known about it. I pray for Casey's family. I know how scary it is. But i took steroids to help.
my cousin has ITP :(:( i luv her to death i hope she gets better she has it for while now but i really wanna knoe how you get ITP she was all fine untill her dad died even her mother died worrying about her i feel bad for ur casey i hope my cosuin gets better soon i hope doctors find cure of it soon as possible the real cure
ITP doesn't necessarily have to have a "cause". Sometimes, it just happens. I hope your cousin gets the correct treatments and goes into remission. Thank you for your kind comment.

Ever since I was little I have permanent bloodshot eyes and am sensitive to a lot of things.
i have suffered from ITP since i was 17 years old, been in remission but it has come back 3 times, i am now 36 and havent had a case for 7 years, hoping it never comes back! my platlett count was almost 0 and i was very ill but steriods saved my life, my heart goes out to casey, i am so sorry for your loss, this is very sad.

ITP doesn't necessarily have to have a "cause". Sometimes, it just happens. I hope your cousin gets the correct treatments and goes into remission. Thank you for your kind comment.
