  • Hey tommy can you tell me what song is this? It’s beautiful…Thanks :)

  • this is amazing! you just fall in love with the photography : )

  • Thank you!

  • Hey Tommy, nice vids, your dance slowmo wiggle shot was one of the tipping points for me buying my DVX. I was wondering about this video, did you have the supporting rods attached with the SGPro while handheld? Is that workable at all? And I was curious also, did you buy directly from Shoot35?

  • Thanks mate :)

Congrats on your purchase, it's really an awesome camera!

You can't really use the SGpro without the supporting rods. But yeah it's absolutely wrokable :)

I've been doing it all along.

I bought it directly from shoot35 yes :)

It costs a bit, but is SO worth it!

  • Did you get the followfocus as well? Or is it workable using the focus on the lens itself? Also do you use a separate monitor, or can you do focus while looking at the DVX's own monitor? Not too far away?

I'm thinking of ordering my Blade today! :)

  • Ah nice man:)

No I actually don't use a FF or a monitor.

I just have a magnet on my lcd screen which flips the image, but makes it "reverse" sort of. Like a mirror. Can be confusing, but you learn to go with it :)

  • Ah yeah, the flip hack. The new Blade has a flip module built-in. Did you have a choice of rotoblades back then as well? I'm thinking of going with Rotoblade2 for the nice bokeh, but it kills alot of light.

I think i've seen you on DVXuser too, is that right?

  • No I didn't have that choice when I bought it :P

    Yeah I'm tommetass, there =)

  • I ordered today! I'm so broke now! Can't wait to try it out! Thanks for the advice! :)

  • Hahaha! It's an investment!

    Congratulations! You won't regret it!

  • i like your style:)

  • @19ulrich90 thanks :)

  • One of the best shot vids with the DVX that i've seen so far! Great work

  • Thank you man:)

    Appreciate it!

  • Oh, nice, but I life in Germany :D

  • Nice Location, where is it?

  • Thanks:)

This is in Tunsberg. At the harbour I guess..

  • looks magical. i want one. where did you get your SGpro r3

  • if this video is shot in 25P progressive how did you do so fine slow motion?

  • The realtime is shot in 25p.. the slowmotion is shot in 50i :)

  • i thought you shot all of it in 25p! ok!

  • nope :)

  • Wow this is vid is amazing! Ive been thinking about buying a dvx100 with 35mm adaptor and this vid totally helps my descision making process.

Beautiful work! Great use of natural lighting, slow motion and music!

  • Hehe thank you man:)

Nice that it can be an inspiration to other people!

A 35mm adapter will rock your world!

  • chea you made that pretty clear in your vid! Im def gettin one.

    keep up the awsome work!

  • thanks again!

  • wow! very nice!

  • Thank you:)

  • let me ask you something. Does sgpro is a good apapter? should i buy it? cause i really think so

  • (Hi, sorry for the very late reply)

    It's a great adapter!

But you can't buy exactly this now though, but the upgrade is for sale now.. the SGblade.. it's awesome and I want it myself actually :P hehe

  • man you were so late that i bought the sgblade! LoooooL :p

  • hahaha! :P

    nice!

    Congrats!

  • :P !

  • Is there a reason why you use an FD lense instead of a EF lense. Or is it because you're dad used to take pictures with this lense?

  • Hehe, that was a weird question:P

The reason I use the FD lens is because It has manual focus AND manual aperture... The EF lens has the focus but the aperture is adjusted digitally :)

  • I really like your footage. But I'm thinking how much of this is magic bullet's work. Can you upload a piece of raw material, without post-production? The reason why: I'm thinking on buying the SGpro adapter. Many thanks

  • I can put up a test soon yeah:)

  • Many thanks.

  • OMG! This is practically FILM!! It's amazing photography... Excellent job!

    1. What lenses and/or adapters did you use?

    2. Isn't it quite heavy having the SGPro + lenses on the cam using it HANDHELD?

    3. Who's that hottie in your film? :p

Great job on this! If i had seen this without the heading, I would have thought it was FILM!

  • Hehe, thank you very much:)

    1.

The adapter was my beloved SGpro r3, and the lens was my favorite one, the Canon FD 35mm f/2.0.

    2.

It does get a bit heavy with all the equipement on, but it's a small sacrifice considering the outcome of it..

    3.

Hehe, it's my friend Dan. Unfortunately for you he's happily married:P

  • Thax for your reply! I'm just so amazed at the beauty of your vid! Excellent song choice too...and your friend has a great on camera presence...he should be an actor/model or something...

    :)

  • HEY, Nice Cinematography, i am thinking about getting the dvx100, which is the best 35mm for it, SGPRO, REDROCK, LETUS....etc.

  • was this shot on progressive or interlaced...

  • Progressive:)

    25p

  • Yay!

  • how much the canon lens set you back?

  • umm money wise? :P

I think it cost 210 USD.

  • thanks.

  • great job. what's the name of this song?

  • thanks:)

This is Papertrigger with the song Sidereal

  • awesome, i love the overall mood thats set in this. very well made.

  • Thank you very much:)

That was what I was hoping for..

  • you're very welcome man :D

  • Amazing work. This video is the best quality of this camera that I have seen.

  • Thanks m8!

    Appreciate it:)

  • This video looks great...I was curious, I still haven't figured out how to get good looking slow motion...did you shoot in 24p? 30...how did get the slow mo to look so smooth? I have after effects and have tried remapping and can't do it...can you give me pointers? thanks.

  • thanks:)

I shot in 50i (PAL country) and then used after effects to slow it down 200%.

  • Great Video, The shots are amazing, it really tells a story. What settings were used for exporting and posting on youtube, the quality is much better than most videos.

  • thank you very much:)

I use quicktime to export my avi files. And in there I use the h.264 codec.. which rocks! :P

  • This is breathtaking. Makes me want to cry, and I don't know why. This rig is incredible. Must do to my DVX100A. Beautiful song. On my way to itunes now.

  • oh, thank you very much!

    Don't know much how I appreciate it=)

the sgpro 35mm adapter is just awesome..

  • who sings??? please...

  • This is Papertrigger with the song Sidereal..

Great band.. not too famous though..

  • Vakkert;)

  • takker og bukker:)

  • what type of color/image adjustments did you do to this? I can eyeball a couple, but i like the overall look. hopefully you can share your secrets

  • color correction was done with magic bullet I think.

But not that much actually. A bit desaturation, added some yellowish feeling, upped the contrast.. that's it I guess:)

    thanks:)

  • how did you your slow mo?its wonderfull! You shoot in 50i?

  • Thank you:)

Yeah I shot in 50i.. captured in Adobe Premiere.

Exported it, imported it in After Effects.. there I used time stretch and stretched it 200%.. :)

  • can you share to us your export settings to youtube please? (export, size, codecs etc...)the quality is incredible! i tried (export with adobe premiere pro in microsoft avi uncompressed and in quicktime pro export to h264 with quality at 75) but its ugly as hell! :( help me please

  • hmm... it shouldn't be ugly:P hehe

That's sort of what I always do.

But where you can set the quality, what other options do you have there? Maybe it has something to do with it?

  • in fact, its ugly on youtube but not on my computer, i'm gonna be crazy :(

  • I´m waiting for my Sgpro. I decided to buy sgpro adapter when i saw your videos!.

    good work!

  • Wow, can't say how much that means to me:)

    Appreciate it a lot:)

And congratulations on your purchase.. you won't be disappointed!

  • I'm thinking of getting a DVX with an sg pro, this is an amazing example... Looks great.

  • thank you very much:)

  • You know if theres much difference between the A and B models?

  • Well, actually the A model is a bit more grainy than the B version.

And there are some improvements on the LCD as well. It shows true 16:9 format while the A versoin squeezes the image. Which can be really annoying... :P

    But I get by, hehe!

  • Kjempebra! :D

  • takker og bukker! :)

  • Impressive shit, dude. Really filmic.. The whole 'this is but a shitty digital cam' feel has disappeared. This movie truly convinces me of the possibilities of a simple dvx100 and a 35mm adapter.

  • Hehe, that is exactly what I needed to hear!

And it's so true..the SGpro is awesome.. but the DVX's colors are simply great..

  • this is really great stuff man thanks for sharing

  • thank you so much:)
