Great video! We live in Kaneohe, Hawaii. We have impatiens growing in our front yard, and they are really tall. The tallest plant, is chest high to me. I am 5ft. 3 inchs tall. When it's quiet, I can hear the pods, exploding, sending the seeds everywhere. The colors are brilliant too. The reds, oranges, pinks and whites are dazzling to look at. I water them everyday, regardly of rain. Just a brief watering everyday, help keeps them perky!
@hawaiidoves - they really do like water, and seem to like cooler temperatures, and in shady areas their leaves stay a rich dark green. I didn't care much for impatiens back in N. America, but I didnt see them thrive like we do here (and you in Hawaii). So funny yours are 5 feet tall. What are the popular fruits in Hawaii? Here we have many. Mangos grow in the wild everywhere, pp cultivate bananas & papaya a lot. Heading back to the states soon, so I will miss the tropics...
@bauerfoto777 The popular fruits here are lychee, mangos, tangerines, avocados, guavas, papayas. There are many other types of fruits, because of the tropical climate, but the most popular ones were mentioned. I believe you'll miss the great outdoors and the tropical climate. Take care... Aloha.
@14shiui1 - you seem undecided. I hope you enjoyed the video, I had fun discovering how these plants work. Nature is ingenious without thinking. Humans are much less intelligent than nature, considering the brain mass they have to work with.
Pretty flower! :)
