  • May he rest in peace

  • Our world needs more people like you and less of the ones like some of the assholes who have posted here. Keep doing what you do, and don't let anyone listen to nay-sayers. I have ONE person that genuinely cares about me and she lives 1000 miles away. If i'd listened to the jerks that have put me down and beat me all my life, i'd have killed myself long ago. Often, it's the people that envy you that give you the hardest time. Again, keep it up.

  • Though I know nothing of the man's work, as I'm not an avid movie fan myself, I felt really touched by your tribute.

Damn if it's the kindest thing i've seen on the Internet.

  • He was a great actor.

  • Well Sucks tht he can't be joker anymore

  • i loved heath ledger so much i cryed after about a year that i found out that he had died and when i found out that he had died was on my birthday the 22 of january is when he died i cryed for hours and now every time i watch one of his vids i cry

  • this was indeed a very hard one... thanks for the realness in your words

  • that was a very nice tribute... it wuz pretty... its hard for me to watch the dark knight after seeing this and thinking tht hes dead..its very sad

  • I totally agree with you 100% Heath Ledger was a fantastic actor

  • He saved The Dark Knight from being a pompous experiment. And Nolan knew it.

  • Beautiful tribute indead...

I can't remember ever hearing anything about Heath Ledger before his death. I found the media circus around his passing annoying, and even after reading a huge newspaper article about it, I didn't get what the big deal was.

Now, after seeing this video, I suddenly... care. I never thought someone I don't know, talking about the death of someone I don't know, could do that.

This is probably the most sincere celebrity tribute i've ever heard.

  • thats wat your face looks like up close enough wit all the dancing wats your email ed

  • i feel bad because we do take people in and then wen they die we all feel bad some more than other its just hard to get over it sometimes but we all are here for ya

  • i am very picky on my favorite actors, because there are so many that give occasional good performances. but heath is on i knew would always be great no matter what. i was on my way home from seeing cloverfield thinking about how clever it was to be from the camcorder prespective. but all that was lost when i heard about heath. dark knight is about to come out but i dont know if i can see it yet. i would have to accept that he is gone and that i dont think i can do that yet. great/sad vid

  • This is very touching dear. It got to me too, I don't think I could speak for a good twenty minutes when I saw the news that day. Every time I pass by posters for the new Batman movie, I catch myself. I mean...I'm looking into the eyes of a dead man that left us far too early. Nice sentiment, hun.

  • wow. your cool

  • That was perfect Emily, a truly fitting tribute.

I was in shock when I'd heard the news as, just like you said, he was from our generation; so it hit really close to home.

    May he rest in peace.

  • Beautiful Tribute

  • That was a very articulate tribute and thank you for having the courage to post the video. Many of us feel the same as you in that we respected him and his versatality was surmountable. Thank you!

  • i loved heath, he was such a great actor. i really liked him in the patriot and alsooo 10 things i hate about you. i didnt even know that he had drug problems or anything i thought he was one of those sober guys! =( RIP! (btw great tribute. =D)

  • Well, I say that was uncalled for.

  • I agree

  • Wow, yeah, I'm 28 - Same age as Heath. Have to say he was a good actor - might have even been great - now we'll never know. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and close friends of Heath - Emily, touched by your tribute, I could understand if you didn't dance that day.

  • Emily, hi there, I don't comment in videos, I just don't. I just got an account with Youtube today. But I had to say that I can see you are upset and a little shaken by this, I bet even more so because of the cause of death. He was a good actory, I was looking forward to watching him mature into a great actory and see where his craft took him.

  • it wasn't suicide though.

  • I didn't say it was.

  • oh nonono, i was replying to someone else's comment earlier, not your video.sorry love.haha

  • Oh, cool. Because of the way YouTube formatted the comments I couldn't tell. *facepalm*

  • Gary Oldman. Look up his movies.

    Sinn

  • I know who Gary Oldman is, and I won't deny that he's a great actor, but.... what does that have to do with this?

  • I don't think I knew the name Heath Ledger until he died. I don't see many movies.

But a death at that age is not only tragic -- it always raises the cry of scandal. In this day and age, when someone dies in their 20s, it's assumed to be their own fault: illegal drugs, reckless or intoxicated driving, sexually transmitted disease, or suicide. Even if it was none of those things.

And this presumption usually dominates the news and overshadows what the person accomplished in life.

  • *patpatpat*

    It'll be O.K. Emily.

    R.I.P Heath

  • Such a sweet,heart-felt commmentary.Ironically,he was never in the limelight of the scuzz-rags of show-biz,just did interesting work and seems to have kept his private life away from the goons of the media, mostly.I'm sick of hearing about his death-the press never cared or appreciated his work before he passed, now they go overboard in coverage of this man's death.Everything else is BS.Thank you, young lady, for your concise, prescient words.Your Mom and Dad must be proud of you.

  • I didnt really like his movies. But he did them well. Oh and I cant get over how pretty this girl is. Sorry had to say it.

  • Well done Emily.

I have to admit he was a really talented actor. He and Leonardo DiCaprio were 2 of my favorite "young" actors.

I felt the same way when River Phoenix died, he also was very talented and died way too young.

  • I liked some of his work "Knight's Tale" & "The Patriot". I think it depends on how he died whether or not to call it a tragedy or not. Right now it looks like it's an overdose, and if it was some sort of accidental overdose taking legal drugs given by a doctor then yes....it's tragic. However if this was another stupid celebrity suicide, or accidental overdose of illegal drugs then I could care less, they had coming.

  • But even if that's the case, I dont see how it changes anything. He's still gone, his family is still grief-stricken, and his potential is still wiped away. I'd call that a tragedy (no disrespect to you intended).

  • I not trying to be mean or disrespectful, but I just don't feel sorry for anyone who takes their own life. Or for someone who does something incredibly stupid which knowingly might cause their own death. You're right about the kid though, it's a shame for the kid.

  • He was a good man, and it's tragic that we must loose him now, but such is life, and we must learn to allow death to take its place. Heith will be missed, but we must move on, and rather than sulk for him, follow in his footsteps :) Good luck Emily.

  • He was a good actor. *nods and agress*

    Indeed he will be missed.

  • Sad Event :(

    Such things happen in life.

We always get over it in the end.

    Good luck.

  • It's true, people will get over it eventually... but it'll always be unfortunate that we lost him at 28.

    Thanks for the comment.

  • I totaly agree, amazing actor, very very young to die...so many movies he could have done...

    May he rest in peace.
