Codec Install Guide: CCCP and CoreAVC for HD playback on Acer Aspire One.

Note to all.. Coreavc is good for low end systems... otherwise if u have the new cranking dual-cores (real ones not HT cores) n a fairly decent card like a 4000 series ATI or 400 series Nvidia then MPC will take advantage of HW acceleration or it can fall back on ur dual-core cpu. Make sure the dual core is at least 2.4ghz.

i tried to download CoreAvc but instead of 8.3, 8.4 was there. Finally i got a notification saying the particular file has beeen removed.

@inbreedingbrutality Yeah that codec pack is dead.... u'll have to get the original coreavc one way or another.... reinstall MPC n it will list coreavc under the setup guide... check it for h2.64 decoding n u r good to go.

@farhanahmed1985 CCCP is a codec pack n CoreAVC is a codec. VLC is a closed garden player (in Apple's terms) so it will not use any external codecs without hacking the code.

If ur system is a dual-core cpu u can just use CCCP. If u r on a single core system then most likely u need to add CoreAVC for 720p-1080p.

Since Flash 10.1 is hardware accelerated u may be able to play 720p on the AAO.

damn this seems like alot.. will i be able to play hd videos like on youtube on a acer aspiree one??? im asking cuz i got my netbook hooked up to my hdtv but cant watch in hd cuz it just skips.. anyone???

Thanks so much for this guide. I was able to play The Dark Knight 720p MKV 8GB file with no issues on my Samsung N150. The movie ran so smooth and looks so good. I am not sure about 1080p movies as I don't have any to test right now but 720p is good enough for me. Thought I had to buy more RAM and the Broadcom Accelerator card but you saved me some money dude!

Dude! U rock!! I completely did not know I had to change the settings for the CoreAVC.

now I'm not getting the problem I was in the past with Blu Ray videos and 2 sets of subtitles.

Ah yeah forgot to mention... if u r using windows 7 u need to install dx9.0c :P Change CCCP's output to overlay to remove lag.
