  • I've gone through so many installation manuals and I'm pretty sure I installed Blender, Python, and PrimStar correctly and I don't have that "Bake Second Life Sculpties" option. I'm assuming something is messed up on my version of Python because it's the icon of a snake...

  • ok where can I find the second life sculpt bake part I have looked at it in blender under render and it is not there why is that?

  • regarding people who are having difficulty baking and saving as a texture map (I did).

    In the new version of Primstar, you have to add a new folder "bpydata" within the new scripts folder you had to make. Close the program and restart. now there will be config file created and you can proceed. hope this helps

  • There are differences when using the latest ver. blender & primstar.

    -When you make the sculpt, you have to manually turn subsurf off by touching multires.

    -Do not change multires to 3. Leave it at 2.

    -The mesh is smooth because "set smooth" is on, not "set solid". Click "set solid" button to bring that back.

    - When I use "cast", only the bottom is open.

    I baked the sculptmap and brought it inworld. Looks great! Hope this helps someone else. It was driving me crazy. : )

  • Hi, I've followed the techniques in this tutorial to make my own sculptie, but when i try to bake it, i get an error message: "The UV map is outside the image area." Any ideas how to fix this please? Many thanks.

  • I got a slightly more complex dialog box when I went to bake it. Do you know where I went wrong by chance? By the way this was and is still very helpful.

  • I have Blender 2.49 and latest Primstar scripts, everything as they should be. But somehow it doesn't create jack shit. Sometimes it gives me error, sometimes not. And when it does something, it loads for half a minute and nothing happened... What should I do?

  • on my blender version (blender 2.48) it has no "bake SL sclupties" on the section render. do i hve to change any settings to get it?? help please!! :)) (im pretty new on this ;) )

  • About the cylinder thing mrdreamers4u. All you have to do is press space go to mesh go to cylinder, and when you select it, deselect CAPS ENDS.

  • wow, this is amazing tutorial, I just realized that blender is so much better than in-world sculpting tools I used before, you can make stuff faster and more efficiently in it

    and they sell those in-world tools for like 5000L, that's just silly

  • I got stuck at about 3:00 into the video, every time I go to scale it so the flat edge is over it it just pulls everything in...

  • (Sorry it took so long)

    To do this, create your multi-prim object, and then select it all. Open the Scripts window in Blender, and go to Scripts > Export > Second Life LSL.

    This will ask for a directory, and then create LSL scripts, and export the sculpt maps. Upload the maps, and apply to the prims, then put in the scripts. Unfortunately, this only handles size and rotation, not position, at this point.

  • Hi, great tutorials, tnx! But I got stuck at the same point as Gwolf, I choose render, do get the bake second life sculpties option and choose that, but the map in the UV/image editor stays empty. Do you have some advice on this please?

  • Hey, there, the video tutorials are great, but Im stucked at here... You see, I installed everything just the way You showed, and up untill the point at 6m40s of this video, everything went smoothly.. BUT (somehow, there is always a but) I got no Bake Second Life Sculpties option. Could You help me out on that please? :) Thank You ;)

  • ok i need to figure out how to import more complex sculpties like ones that have multiple meshes linked together is there a way to do this or am i jus tryin for no reason at all

  • This is possible, yes. One of the Domino scripts allows you to import all of the sculpt maps and have the object build itself, I believe. However, I've yet to use it, so I'm not sure how. I'll figure it out over the next couple of days, though, and get back to you.
