  • Ivan Ditmars was the music composer for all of the 1970-76 episodes of the nighttime LMAD, I especially dig the music he created live just for zonks, funny sounding and always gets me giggling nonstop, that unmistakeable piano opening (my favorite part) tells everyone that a zonk was behind the curtain or the wall of Turtle Wax or $50 worth of Eskimo Pies.

Timeless, and priceless. RIP, Ivan, we still enjoy your work even now, the music used for today's LMAD on CBS doesn't even come close.

  • 2:36 I'll take those aborable dogs in that do-it-yourself "Dog Catchers' Kit", nothing beats cuteness and they all are cute :)

  • @AK47Music oops! typo alert! I meant to say "adorable" when referring to those ever-so-cute (and they are adorable aren't they? :) ) dogs in the "do-it yourself Dog Catchers' Kit" that appeared at 2:36 of this clip of classic LMAD zonks/un-restored classic cars.

  • @ 1:58 I'll Take it! I LOVE it!

  • "ZONK!"

At least the car could be restored with a little bit more elbow grease...

  • With a little dab of Turtle Wax, some of them could turn out to be good lookin' ! ... LOL ...

  • dude, those cadillacs were worth more than the crappy 70's cadillacs. Even that Packard is awesome! The cadillacs of the 70's are now hoodrides rollin though detroit, and LA, or spinnin on 24's, as in what the blacks call "Donks". Haha, kinda ironic.

  • All those Cadillacs loook better than the Hosts Suit--or one like it,,, which might be availabale at a GoodWill near you for like 2 Bucks, LOL!!!

  • @sketchyinc Monty was always looking pimp out in those vintage 1970s Botany 500 suits he wore at every taping of the original (1971-77) run of the nighttime version on LMAD, and yes, check google for those 1937 Packards and the 1947 (mislabeled 1939 on the show) and 1957 Cadillacs (like that convertible) in fully-restored condition. THEY ARE PIMP!!!

  • gimme the "zonk"

  • Man I would have taken that 54 caddy convertible any day they are worth a mint now in any shape that was not a Zonk Car in any means ! In just a few years after that shiw they were way up in value.

  • @1968DodgePolara that caddy was rust free too!

  • As a passionate Volkswagen enthusiast and proud owner of a 1999 Mark IV New Beetle and a 1963 Split-Window Bus, I got a kick out of that "one-horsepower car" lol, a vintage 1963 Beetle in baby blue, I would've taken it, brought it home with me, and call the nearest shop and start restoring it right away.

Poor VW, another one of their classics gets butchered by Monty Hall and the rest of the LMAD crew, I know it's all in good fun, but Monty, you oughta be ashamed of yourself for doing that.

  • @AK47Music He was able to do it so well for a good number of years too. He made a couple of appearances on Wayne Brady's version too, so it goes too show that even at the age of 90 he still has the urge to tempt people like this.

  • Funny how much some of those would be worth today....

  • I liked the 39' caddilac

  • @COSANOSTRA2OO8 yeah, me too. I liked the packard too. I know it was worth more than $2,000 what that lady won! I liked the 59 cadillac too. It was rust free too!!!!

  • @latinflavor081 that they do, and they were built a heck of alot better back then also, compared to the junk that they have out today.

  • I wonder if you really wanted to keep the zonk car if they would of let you/ There were a couple I would of kept.

  • @willyboi708 i would have also.

  • @willyboi708 From what I've read, they were legally obligated to award the Zonks if the contested wanted them(though most elected to receive a small consolation prize after the taping).

  • zonk cars are the most common thing you see on lets make a deal to date Monty Hall has given out 17 of these trash heaps

  • those zonks are worth more than the prizes now lol

  • @anothaninjaguy guess those people better sup them up!!!

  • @harris3693 "Pimp My Automobile" it's not pimp my ride til the later future heh

  • I heard the Zonks were not actual prizes, so no goats, no lambs and no 1939 Caddys.

  • Restored the 1957 and 1937 Cadillacs would be worth big bucks today (but not in 1971)...lol

  • @ncmountaingal1960 or 1972, '73, or '74.

  • @ncmountaingal1960 i would rather have those than any kind of pile of junk that they make today that is out on the streets, that's for sure !!!! one can NOT pay me to own a car, truck, or van today, because they're nothing but junk.

  • @sr71ablackbird well, ladas are the only muscle cars still produced today, check out vids of lada 2107s owning BMWs and Supras!!!!

  • i will take the zonk cars for scrap and give the money for hollywood

  • lol would be funny if all the african americans won the "donks"

  • "That's how rich we are, we went and bought a Cadalac and squashed it"

  • Junky Old Cars Are Wothless

  • Worthless Old Cars

  • i like how monty said "Its a cadillac" in the beginning and its a zonk LOL!!!

  • Or a Coupe de Zonk.

  • Caddy De Zonk

  • Comment removed

  • there's one with the trip up for grabs a zoink car that she turned down.

  • Mother Creator has a better car then those

  • Worthless Cars as An Lemons

  • Worthless Cars

  • 50s Cadillac Convertible?, a classic Packard Sedan from the 30s and a Roadster....I will take the Zonks please!

  • @ignatzRat i agree with you !!

  • haha i'd laugh if christine was sold in this segment of the show haha

  • @badgerbuddy you could have a whole different movie if that happened lol

  • Zonks are just a way from sorting out the suckers from the truly lucky.

  • Can someone please bring on more "ZONK"s from the early 1970s version of "Let's Make A Deal"??

  • @CraigFoye80 You're right there needs to be more zonks from the early 1970's.

  • The alleged 1939 (then 1937) Cadillac is actually from 1947.

  • the type I is an oval window?

  • @56BUICKRiviera No it is not, it would've had clear "bullet"-style turn signals next to each of the horn grills if it was, but since it had the clear lenses instead of amber ones on each fender and a larger rear window, I believe that Beetle is a circa-1958-1963. Poor VW, yet another classic air-cooled VW gets butchered by Monty Hall and the LMAD crew.

BTW, does anybody have footage of the "two-horsepower" car, a vintage Type III wagon (Squareback or Variant) that they also had as a zonk? lol

  • @AK47Music At the time those 58-63 had the least value.

  • I'd love to know what the 'dog house' car started life as.

  • first he said 1939 and later he said 1937 cadillac

  • dam hippies, i remember this episode, in the 70's stil got it on beta max

  • Today, you would kill for one of these. Barely to find anymore!

  • That Bug looked pretty trick with them "rimz y0" on it! =]

Couple of those were definitely decent cars though, classics even then.

  • that eldo would be nice to have
