I love animals, but this is rediculous. Humans didn't cause the bear's distress, it's her own fault. We shouldn't interfere. Wild animals can take care of themselves and they do better if humans stay away as a rule.

Reading the negative comments, these posters obviously do not know what they are talking about. You try and tie ropes around a 300+ lb dead weight animal who;s fur is naturally very oily. She was in no danger while in the water passed out as they are naturally boyant, they just needed to get her head above water. I would call this a very brave and successful rescue for sure.

These things are a little hilarious if you're concerned about the rescuers. I've seen a ton of these videos and I have yet seen a truly successful rescue. Either it's impossible to rescue a polar bear, or the job is terribly difficult.

I saw some where they had a trampoline to catch a bear and they've always missed. On one of them, the bear actually landed in the trampoline, but flew out immediately after. Their closest rescue I believe.

Maybe this polar bear wasn't in danger, but maybe it was.

If I was them I should just waited a few days to look if the bear came down her self. If she didn't I would try to get her down to.. but I mean , such a huge bear ... so much weight! At least you check like a 1000 times if the ropes are stuck well, and you attach them good to! Poor bear .. actually she's lucky she was a sleep, but on the other hand, lucky her she didn't drowned.

People are dumb. Leave the polar bear alone. I never needed rescuing (except maybe from people). I've seen polar bears jump greater drops than this with my own eyes (when landing in water) with no harm to themselves.
