I have actually tried the kangen water, not by drinking it, but on my skin.

I had a really bad skin condition on my legs a year or so ago. I tried medications and creams from my doctor but they didn't help much. But a friend of my dad's has a machine and gave me some of the water to use on my skin and it cleared up over the course of about two and a half months.

I know it sounds crazy, and I'm not sure how it worked, but it did.

my family friends eat junk food all the time, take out, and they told me that bottled water is bad for you and are on this kangen water craze. Some of them are overweight for eating crap daily! That won't make them healthier! Don't eat eggs, don't eat red meat, now don;t drink bottled water. what's next, dont eat at all? Oh and eating healthier is common sense not some "secret"

CassidyLM, If you continue your research, you'll find that Dr Young does recommend water ionizers for their health benefits. BTW, drinking hard water is actually not good for your health.. too many inorganic minerals are not absorbable by the body. Good water is also about the "structure" of water, not just the mineralization. Quantum science is revealing this more and more.

"The Enagic™ models are decent ionizers and some other brands are definitely cheap quality and poor performers. But when you have a foreign parent company and up to eight representatives making a high amount of money from every single sale you will get a price that reflects that."

The markups on the Enagic machines are actually less than those on the cheap competitors, which are produced at a fraction of Enagic’s costs. Many of these imitators cost $200 - $300 to build and are sold at $1500 – $2000. It is all relative. If you're looking to pay less, Enagic has a range of machines from $1280 which outperform the "competition".

Once again, the cynics scream "hoax" with little understanding of the technology... as if it were only about alkalinity. How absurd to think that drinking 9.5 Kangen will alkalize your intestinal tract and interfere with digestion... It actually accomplishes the opposite; much better digestion (and not solely based on pH).

They say it is better to eat other types of prey fish, not predator fish like salmon, tuna, shark, swordfish. Pure chocolate has numerous health benefits. Some disease states of infection require alkaline conditions. You can't digest properly with a alkaline state in your gastrointestinal system. Take mylanta if you wish to have an alkaline GI system!

The ONLY people recommending alkaline water are those people selling it for HUGE PRICES! Do you really believe that cancer researchers would have overlooked this very fundamental factor? Absurd! Yes, scientists are sometimes wrong but at least they publish in peer-reviewed literature and display their credentials! Why do you use the term "Dr."? Where is your evidence? Testimonies are not evidence. For all we know, 5 times as many people notice no change or get sicker! I think it's a HOAX!

@mandogrizz2 well, i agree the units are well out of reach for most people on a budget, some of these units are 3000 dollars! come on do these manufactures really expect us to believe there are high cost components needed to build such a unit therefor this justifies a 3000 dollar price tag? look i bet anyone with knowledge in electronics could build one of these units for less then 100 dollars.

@UnfedDog Its actually been proven through one of the biggest studies ever conducted on nutrition that ingesting animal protein for meat is one of the primary causes of weight gain and cancer. A whole food, plant based diet drastically reduces the instance of cancer and obesity; along with many other diseases like diabetes and cardiovascular disease. I suggest you watch the documentaries FoodMatters, Fat Sick and Nearly Dead, and Forks Over Knives. Do your own research before making insinuations

@UnfedDog They do seem cultish, the Kangen machine is a scam like scientology, it does not work whatsoever. In fact it can be toxic when the sodium hydroxide it produces more reactive water to wash fruits in . It can cause the pesticide on fruit to make more carcinogenic compounds. It is basically diluted bleach. Sodium bicarbonate costs 50 cents for a box of arm& hammer does not cause toxins in your water and raises the PH to 8.3 .
