  • I like Starbucks a lot!

  • All public forum venues need to be aware of the way they mike presenters. This video, like most, is 75% effective because people normally do not articulate very well. The few videos that do get the mikes right really stand out. Why are they so rare?

  • Recorded in 2008

  • what a great speaker

  • @afgtunes Unless you have proof that coffee was a religious beverage, you probably mean that Arabs invented coffee.

  • @Nomoreidsleft Yes, Arabs from Morocco discovered Coffee first...

  • @afgtunes the ethiopian muslims?

  • @shieldsuma Yemeni.

  • you need to understand one point here, it is not about coffee and high quality coffee delivered to middle class with good customer service, it about how much money they can suck out from this business, they will build zillion coffee shops as longs as they make profit, and nobody will (and already do not) care about quality and the rest, this was just mean (marketing strategy) to achieve result. they arn't worried if they will become another macdonalds or not, they even want it for more moeny

  • Mr.Shultz,

You are a good coach, leader, and teacher. Strong presentation skills.

  • he's not a corporate bastard.the only problem with starbucks is it has changed so much through the years ,became so HUGE that the main value /good coffee/ they offer had become watery. They want to build 200,000 shops around the world and if this actually happens, the situation will get to the point where starbucks will be the next Mc Donalds. They have to be careful to not over-do it .

  • @shemademagic Starbucks is already the Macdonalds!

  • @khurramqureshi they need demarketing.

  • why do people like Starbucks so much ? da drinks r expensive n doesn't taste really great.I think they go to Starbucks only for prestige or for celebrating their money for fame.

  • @KPKonliner no,they go there because they're BRAND LOYAL.

  • @KPKonliner Going to starbucks has 0 prestige lol. Why does everyone think that spending $5 on a cup of coffee makes you automatically rich or something?

  • @KPKonliner Why people like SB so much? SB pretty much owns their product category (who competes with SB? any rivals nearby?) and lives up to a lot of consumer's expectations. They make a reliably predictable beverage, like McD's. You know what to expect from either franchise no matter where you are in the world (though they do localize). SB's has become sort of a cultural phenom' that many would be enraged if it vanished. SB has generated quite a demand. That's why.

  • I think the only reason people hate on him is because they are jealous of where he is at. This is a man of extraordinary vision, talent, tenacity, and creativeness. Even if he were the biggest scumbag in the world you can't take away those qualities from him

  • @tennis12456 It is very easy to blame other people for an individual's error and mistakes. What really defines a person is the willingness to take an critic's hate and discontent and prove them wrong. And being able to admit when the individual is wrong

  • @tennis12456 probably because of the price of cofee.

  • It is ridiculous to read some of the comments people have posted here. Starbucks give customers what they want. Consumers obviously want their products that being the reason why they bring in billions of dollars in revenue every year. Starbucks is one of the few companies that offer health benefits and stock options to part time employees. Stop crying and do some useful with your lives. Don't crying and complaining about true entrepreneurs that paid their dues and are now successful.

  • Starbucks hater! You have to respect him for leading one of the world's most recognizable brands.

  • How does one respect a person that bankrupts the old small-town independent coffee shops? only to line his fat corporate pocket!. There are two of his modern corporate shit holes within a five minuit walk of my home. They also do a great job of polluting our nice old town look. Thanks asshole!

  • @ProfessorMatic Just to counter that.... If anything, SB creates the opportunity to ride their coattails by launching a niche coffee house to appeal to those that want their coffee from an independent, local business. SB is so ubiquitous that people seek out the non-corporate formula coffee place.

  • Shareholders who work at Starbucks love it, and love Mr. Shultz. I think that speaks for itself.

  • First time I heard of and 'listened' to Mr. Schultz. I believe in the goodness in him. Perhaps Starbucks should also look into the private companies who operate Starbucks in countries outside USA. In the Philippines, Starbucks is operated by the Tantoco family's 'Rustans'. The Tantoco's have amassed their wealth by being 'cronies' of the Marcos' Family, they were known smugglers, powerful & untouchable. Look into your partner account's history & see who they are. Thanks.

  • yeah, thats true

  • Me too, i thot i was alone...and wierd
