  • i am here again lol

any chance this going to be a movie?

  • @ecchibear Only if Blizzard creates it.

  • No! No-no-no! No! This is NOT how you draw Protoss hands! No!

  • @phob1a1 How do you draw (or in this case model) Protoss hands then?

  • @TheRealIntri They have two opposing thumbs on each side of the palm.

  • @phob1a1 They do? Ive seen the Zeratul vs. Kerrigan cinematic more than once and I have never noticed Zeratul to have more than 4 fingers, only one of which is a thumb.

  • @TheRealIntri If you look closer, you'll see that the "pinky" isn't actually as straight as the two middle fingers. In lore: "Protoss are about three meters tall and have [...], four digits on their hands (of which two are thumbs) and toes [...]" In video: /watch?v=tDMhlX2z1Jw

  • @phob1a1 If you're referring to the double thumb that Protoss have, you will notice in StarCraft II that their fingers are so flexible that they can move the fingers around to the point where it looks like a 4 fingered human hand as well.

  • @freespace87 The key thing is that they "can" but don't most of the time. And they were clearly drawn this way in this cinematic out of ignorance. Which is sour to me as a fan of the SC universe.

  • @phob1a1 It is not ignorance. I have closely regarded all aspects of this cinematic, without rushing. I have "drawn", or more correctly, modeled and rigged, their hands this way because it is how Zeratul (which is the best close look we have at the Protoss in StarCraft II) has his hands this way. Please look at the CG cinematic with Zeratul vs Kerrigan from StarCraft II, as well as the cinematic where Zeratul comes on the Hyperion to warn Raynor. Look carefully at his hands and how they behave.

  • @freespace87 You reasssured me:)

  • @phob1a1 I'm glad. :)

  • epic epic

  • 0:58 Top Gun Reference!

  • This is fucking awesome.

  • Parts straight from SC1 <3

  • 4:34 Dark Archons?

  • @lapfuwong Ulrezaj the Dark Archon, indeed.

  • We need not fear of the Zergs or Protoss...we have the ultimate CHUCK NORRIS.

  • omg TASSADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR

  • what is this?..

  • and wrath shall pour from mouths of steel, on spawns a satan. grim has the best quote

  • The awkward moment when the two top comments allways are "mutas cant fly in space" and "OMG THE THINGY SAYS HUSKY"

  • @MrGodzillahin True story

  • mmmm, queen of blades is hot, nice ass

  • lol i like how slow they start firing at 2:18.

    but awsome vid.

  • great.

  • Heh, there is a crashed battlecruiser behind the hydra at 2:30 :) Never noticed that one either.

  • no no no dont end :D

  • how come this does not have more views?

  • ...are they Ultramarines?

  • @crapmasterfang Nope, they are Omega Squadron from StarCraft.

  • make a fkn 6 hour baddas movie about starcraft!!!!!

  • @aljazinlinda No problem. You pay. Make it about 10 bil USD and Im sure you can have a 6 hour pure CGI movie.

  • @TheRealIntri NP pocket money :P

  • @aljazinlinda There are few things I would love more than to make a 6 hour CG movie about StarCraft. I just need a couple of things. First of all, Blizzard's permission. Next, I need a large team (preferably Blizzard's cinematic team). Next we need budget. Now, for 2 hours of this, it could come up to ~150-200 million dollars. So for 6 hours we need 500-600 million dollars. Then, we need about 10 years to do it all. But other than these details, sure. 6 hour movie incoming. :D

  • @freespace87 cool so ill give u 800 mil and 5 - 6 years what do you say ? :P

  • @aljazinlinda It's a start :)

  • @freespace87 Yup, wasnt far from the truth. 600 mil to actually make the movie and 9,4 bil to bribe Blizzard to give you the rights.

  • Outstanding work !

thank you for this video !

  • Great jobs. I want to see more.

  • fantastic job my friend

  • 3:35 Is that Jupiter in the background?

  • @55watawata The small planet we're focusing on there is Ehlna, which is a moon. So I thought it could orbit a gas giant. It's not Jupiter, just a nameless gas giant.

  • @55watawata lol just looked, that's definitely Jupiter...

  • Epic! This is too good to be a fan movie! You did a great job!

  • >going mass mutalisk against battlecruisers

    >corruptors rape BC

    /facepalm

  • I want the movie >:)

  • 5.38 KAME-HAME-HAAAAAAA

  • i got a ad for cat in the hat wtf

  • LOL ULTRAMARINES SYMBOL INVERSED

  • @Tuliflames It is not the Ultramarines symbol. It is the Omega symbol.

  • i want the song you used throughtout the whole video :D

  • damn, tell me name song 3:10 - 3:25 PLZ!! I can not find name song

  • Let's hope the later expansions will be this epic, if not more !

  • Actually Mr. freespace, is there any chance to find the music in a stand-alone format? It would be awesome if the bits in particular scenes were just mere parts of a greater whole. I would love to listen to it all. Thumbs up if you guys want a soundtrack too. :)

  • @TheRealIntri Here you can listen to just the music: soundcloud (dot) com/pmcomposer/starcraft-final-metamorphosis

  • @freespace87 Absolutely bananas. Many thanks, kind sir, this was definitely not the last time I heard that file.

  • name song 3:20 PLZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @guardian12m2 The entire music score (except for the credits) was created by Piotr Musial for this animation.

  • 108 infested terrans disliked this video

  • This is fan made !!!!! Unfuckingbelievable

  • great cinematic, but i agree that last scene with the mutalisks flapping their wings to fly in space is of course impossibru. According to the lore, all the zerg load up into a leviathan which presumably moves through space by expelling gasses before entering wormholes to travel large distances.

  • @iliketha The leviathan is just one way in which the travel. Mutalisks (and indeed other types, like Scourges, Guardians) have been seen in space in several Sc1 cinematics (the fall of the Norad, the swarm warps toward Aiur), in Sc2 cinematics (Terran invasion of Char), and in a host of ingame missions taking place in outer space.

  • @freespace87 true, but that doesn't make it any less silly - i suppose you could argue they're only flapping their wings out of habit and have some other form of propulsion for space flight

  • @iliketha I agree. This is one of those things where we need some suspension of disbelief to enjoy the game's universe. Perhaps we will get a reasonable explanation for this in Heart of the Swarm, whenever it comes out.

  • @iliketha That would be my theory. If I remember right, Mutalisks gained the ability of space travel only after the assimilation to the Zerg swarm. Flapping wings could be just their reflex when moving, nothing else. For all we know, they dont need wings even in an atmosphere.

  • you aint taking me down on Char, bitches!!

  • woooow super tareeee

  • It looks awesome! ...but I don't like it.

  • @az095929 Thanks, but can you please elaborate?

  • @freespace87 I don't like it because it doesn't make any sense ( to me ).

  • @az095929 Have you played StarCraft 1?

  • @freespace87 I played it for about month and then SC2 came out and I moved to it.

  • @az095929 If you're not familiar with the SC1 storyline, I can understand why this animation doesn't make sense. :)

  • @freespace87 I know the basic story of SC and details from SC2 but I'm kinda lost on SC1. I know Kerrigan gets abducted and Tassadar suicide bombs Overmind but meh.

  • @az095929 If you are pure multiplayer guy, you can just say wow about this animation and move along.:) If youre interested in SC1 story, I recommend watching this animation and then going through SC1 story and all books related to it. After that you will understand every single scene of the animation. And take my word for it when I say that its damn worth it.

  • @TheRealIntri Fifty fifty :P Reading SCwikia atm.

  • lol is it uniform that every badass has to have a hot chick painting on their left shoulder like the marine in 2:39? he reminds me of Tychus

  • @Username01234ful Do you honestly think that badasses like Marines that face death every day of their lives and if they dont, they go and drink and enjoy themselves while they can would suffer any kind of sexual abstinence? :) Aint no fighting without hot chicks!

  • The music is beautiful too! Especially from 6:06. I searched for Piotr Musial and found his webpage, ha made really good sountracks i recommend you guys to check it. He is really talented. I hope he will do cues for Blizzard too in the future. You can listen to samples, it gives an epic feeling like the LOTR soundtracks.

  • @mogyorospusztai Piotr is an awesome composer, I am fortunate to have him as a friend and collaborator on projects such as this one.

  • 5:00 that is why protos rocks and if the zerg ever become a targit the zerg can only hope thay can live throw any fight

  • how can they fly in space ....impossibru !

  • @Freigeist20789 you mean the zerg?

  • @Freigeist20789 not be an idiot, the Overmind has the ability to modify their young, did you know ay an animal strong enough to support the space and exists in real life?

  • @TheFire2013 well there are several bacteria that can do ....and i heard from a mammal that flys trough space in self build metal vehicles.

Also the point is not the kind of animal or what their abilities might be. You just can't fly in vakuum without ejecting something for reasons of the conservation of momentum. TLDR: Flapping wings > movement in space > impossibru !

  • @Freigeist20789 How do you know ejecting something is the only possible way of propulsion in vacuum? True, its the only way we know of, but I wouldnt be arrogant enough to say that we know all the laws of physics and that no other method exists.

  • @TheRealIntri philospical argument, but in this case of flapping wings just wrong. As long as no other way is shown it also could be seen as arrogant to say that there is another way only because there could be something that we dont know. In science you collect evidence for the existence of things.

  • @Freigeist20789 There is nothing arrogant about saying that there is a possibility of something existing even though there has been no indications of it existing. Space is way too vast for us to think we have seen it all.

What exactly is wrong with flapping wings in space? Suppose you would release a bird in vaccum (and it could survive long enough for you to observe the experiment). Dont you think it would flap its wings even though it would do it no good, just out of reflex?

  • @TheRealIntri of course it would flap but i would be useless in the tiny second till he dies. Forward movement - nope.

And because space is vast everthing somebody can imgaine and beyond could exist...just a silly argument....

  • @Freigeist20789 I dont remember Blizzard every saying that Mutalisks flap wings in space as a means of propulsion. It is just what everybody assumes, but there is no basis for that assumption.

And nope, Im not saying that EVERYTHING can exist.Far from it. Im just saying that its quite certain there are many things that exist and we didnt even think of them yet. Just think of chemical elements - its not that long when periodic table didnt know even 100 of them. Now there are 118.

  • @Freigeist20789 How silly must have been the scientists that thought elements with atomic number of 118 could possibly exist...;) Such elements have never before been proven to exist, so they obviously couldnt exist. Strange that they do exist indeed, even though their existence was plainly impossible mere 2 years ago.

  • @TheRealIntri nope elements with more than 100 protons in the core where possible then and now ... theoretical chemist predicted them on ground of our physical and chemical laws. nowadays they try to get even higher and the island of stability is proposed. only Technology is lacking behing yet. Flapping wings -> video - so far for the assumption. also i think you are streching this point far too hard...

  • @Freigeist20789 Like wise.:) You dont seem to understand my point - you see them flapping wings in the video, but what does it say about their propulsion? Nothing whatsoever. As I stated before, I dont think Blizzard ever said that flapping wings is what gives Mutas their propulsion. It could be just a leftover reflex, remnant of their times before being assimilated into the swarm.

  • @Freigeist20789 it was a trait that the Overmind took advantage of when assimilating species into the Swarm

  • Amazing cinematic.

  • The only issue I can see is a slight problem in that most animations seem to run at the same speed, such as when one of the marines falls on his knees. Othe than that, this is one of the most brilliant and beautiful cinematics I have ever seen, perhaps only matched when Zeratul faces Kerrrigan in the huge cave...

  • Idea StarCraft the movie 1 & 2

  • I noticed them, mate ;).

  • Un-f*cking-believable!!!

Fun animation? You are kiddin right? It has the same amount of detail and quality as the real SC CGI cutscenes... and it's even longer and it has more action. Just hard to believe that some people who are not working for Blizz can create so awesome CGI just like that?!

  • @Parham1995 By the end of the 25th Century, they were also capable of FTL travel. Additionally, we see the effect itself in StarCraft II Wings of Liberty, to confirm. That is how the Hyperion travels between systems.

  • @freespace87 Oh yes. Sorry about that. Forgot about 'em getting FTL drives by SCWoL. Thanks for clearing that out for me! =D

  • Love how at 1:15 the wraith cloaks but you can see him rejoining a bunch of other cloaked wraiths if you look closely :D pretty cool :P

  • @RAHowarth1990 Ive seen this animation maybe 40 times already and havent noticed that... Simply amazing, the animation is so detailed that there is always something new to see. Thanks for pointing it out. :)

  • @RAHowarth1990 I am so happy someone finally noticed those. :) I was starting to think I made them too cloaked. :)

  • @freespace87 I think you made them absolutely perfect. Cloaked units are not to be seen by normal eyes, only keen ones. The rest of the squadron is visible, but only if you know what to look for - only if you are trained to see them. Imo thats exactly the way its supposed to be. Another hats off to you, sir, this animation is far more than just state-of-the-art CGI.

  • really it was the terran the made the darkness come not the protoss

  • Starcraft Move trailer :D <3

  • what the fuck is husky doing in my video o.o !

  • The Dark Voice? in this video.

  • @MegaTricell Actually, that's not the dark voice but the renegade dark templar mergin into Ulrezaj the Dark Archon.

  • soooo mutas can fly in space?

  • @GoDAnimations Just like they have since 1998 :)

  • @GoDAnimations Yep. Go to the starcraft wikia.

  • @Joandy88 LOGIC OFF

  • @serder910630 During the Zerg campaign in vanilla SC there is a mission where Kerrigan battles Tassadar on Char, though it's actually just a halucination. That's also where the line about "I need not face you at all" comes from. This was all before the Overmind's Death as the Zerg campaign was the second campaign and the Protoss the last.

  • What was Grim saying when he got shot by the hydralisk?? I want to know D:

  • @dune358 You can turn on subtitles with the CC button. :)

  • @freespace87 Just noticed Pvt. Reaper's name is Grim, god I'm an idiot

  • All you UMS fags freaked out when you saw the wraith's name was Kazansky HERO WRAITH!

  • dude...this is AWESOME

  • What is the ship sinking in the background at 1:33? Is that a Hercules class transporter?

  • @TheRealIntri No, that's another Battlecruiser. I added that for two reasons: It was to show a sense of scale, by having it fall off into a cloud. And secondly, to show that the Terrans were taking a strong beating from the Zerg.

  • I saw husky was on the side of some random floating debris... :O

  • marine OP?

  • @TheSavvyBox Omega Squadron have some serious bad-asses.

  • 2:22 most bad ass thing I have ever heard.

  • how mutalisk can fly in space?

  • @mJOAQ1 Ask Blizzard.

  • ok kerrigans ass is still great but her face......

  • what did you do to kerrigans face and what kikd of plot was that????? overall i give it a 90/100

  • @Primeanimation I believe I can answer the questions for Mr. freespace. 1) He modelled Kerrigan's face, that's what he did to it. But I agree that perhaps she could've shown some anger. :) 2) when I first saw the video, I was disappointed a bit about the storyline. I kept expecting one, yet none ever came. After I saw it for the second time I realized there was supposed to be no storyline, it's a cut through some of the most important scenes of the Starcraft story, its summary.

  • @TheRealIntri 1) Kerrigan's face - I never liked how Blizzard made her look beautiful like a doll, even though she is infested. My interpretation of her made her look a little less fashion model. 2) That's correct. It's a summary of what makes StarCraft cool. :D Scenes from the games, the books, and even what I think would be nice (like the Marine scene)

  • @freespace87 Yeah, I totally agree that infested Kerrigan shouldnt be a beauty. But I believe the most criticized thing about your Kerrigan is that her face is stone-cold. There are almost no animations in it. I might be wrong, but all I could notice so far was slight movements of her lips, something like a small evil grin. But in the story, she is depicted as almost pure evil, enjoying her role and her anger against everything that lives and isnt Zerg. Definitely not emotionless.

  • @TheRealIntri I had a couple of face expressions for her, but to be honest, it was extremely difficult to implement the way I had wanted to. Facial animation is a bitch. :) So that's why the result was an emotionless Kerrigan.

  • @freespace87 :) Thought so. Yup, I can imagine the kind of hell one has to go through before making it just right. As much as animating CGI videos might be fun, there are always elements that are long, boring, frustrating and often not worth the pain. If it is of any comfort, her butt is absolutely perfect. :)

  • Make a movie.

  • The Wraith in the beginning is like Material Defender from Descent :D

  • 1:50 - 2:41 best scene ^^

  • nothing jimmy can't handle... :D

  • 2:48 H to the HUSKY lol for all you husky fans.

  • the song at the end kicks asses

  • zajebiste!

  • I <3 SC and I do love the second game too. Awesome work...!

  • 2:48 Does anyone else see the name Husky?

  • @Dman5414 i saw it

  • @Dman5414 2:48 is better cuz you don't have to wait for the flickering light :P

  • damn protoss are badass :D - "...for you have yet to witness the true power of the protoss" sick

  • this is a fan made? so amazing, reminds me of the old good times, Zeratul back when sc is so much more badass than which is in sc2.

  • SICK

  • Dark Archon FTW!!!

  • @lilbigwill8 Ulrezaj...

  • 4:52 Dat ass!

  • Falcon punch!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what tools was this made with?

  • very good video, they should make a movie for this!

In 3D hope they pick James Cameroon o Steven Spielber for director!

  • this was sick. WHY isnt there a starcraft movie? you could make 10.

  • @MachinaSapien Because these 6,5 minutes took over a year to make. Imagine 90 minutes video. Its not like you can take some cameras out, arrange your people and take shots. If you do movie with actors and stuff, you can use a lot of your surroundings (for example a forest with all its trees, their branches, their leaves etc.) If you do this in CGI, every bit of detail has to go through your hands. You have to recreate it all.

  • @TheRealIntri if pixar can do it every 6 months, blizzard can make a movie in 10 years.

  • @MachinaSapien True. If Toyota can flush out 7 milion cars a year, surely it would be no problem for you to make me one of similar quality in 2 months. :) There are many things that affect speed. To name a few: 1) movement animation - Blizzard (and I think Mr. freespace too) only use keyframes, while Pixar uses motion capture. 2) Pixar has more people working on CGI animations than Blizzard. 3) Pixar does high quality stuff. But photorealistic? I dont think so.

  • @MachinaSapien And probably the most important point of them all - even if you release a movie every 6 months, it doesnt mean you produce it in 6 months. Big movies take years to produce. Pixar would get nowhere if they worked on one movie at a time.

  • @TheRealIntri Exactly. Pixar actually release one feature animation per year, not twice. And they have separate teams, that spend between 3 and 4 years on each project. For example, work on Cars 2 started a bit after Cars was finished, yet the movies were launched 5 years apart.

  • This shit is better than porn!

  • is there any way to see all starcraft movie ?

  • woah woah woah..

    "fan animation"

this is assuming all the fans are ex-employees of blizzard? that animation was BETTER than the stuff the damn game was releasing to the public when it was being MARKETED COMMERCIALLY!
