I absolutely love his music but I can't even look at him when he's performing. I can only listen. He is so nasty. I have a thing for a lot of 80's rock stars but this guy makes me wanna gag. Some guys look hot when they're all sweaty but off him I can almost smell the b.o

It's about the book. The reference to Big Brother watching pretty much sells it from t he start. He's comparing modern society to the society in Orwell's book.
Oingo Boingo was the coolest band of the 80s. But Danny Elfman was always the most awkward standing person in every video he was ever in. It's like he never knew how he wanted to stand or swing his arms or walk. He always did his movements in an uncomofortable awkward way like he didn't really know what he was doing. But I guess he was too vocally talented to worry about it :)
