@MrKillswitch88 Yes this I will do might fix it and put the shaman on there since it will not fit the Palit 460. When I get better at soldering I will fix it. Think that is why the RAM and shaders overclock high and core wont budge but 10-15mhz.
@ComputerTechTV Can you confirm that the shaman does not fit? If so, by how much? Some people propose to remove the housing from the dvi ports, which gives you 7mm more or so. Do you think that might do the trick? Reason I am asking is that I am pretty desperate to find a really silent cooler for my palit 460, but so far, no luck.
@PC4Free Yeah, AMD beats Intel with price, but Intel beats AMD with speed and overclocking. Also If you get a X58 motherboard It will also have support for tripple channel memory :)
My AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400+ does not beat my Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200 @ 2.5Ghz. The E5200 even beats the AMD Athlon II X3 445 :O BUT yes If u want to go cheap go for AMD, but If you want something with performance GET INTEL! :)
you should keep the 8800gt for physx along side the 460, i have 2 x 6870 in crossfire and i GTX 260 for Physx processing. I like that case loads of room for harddrives. Nice Vid update.
Don't buy AMDs 6 core, unless the money is tight. It, and the whole AMD line right now are getting owned in benchmarks by the old Core i7s and some i5s, not to mention the new Sandy Beach shabang :)
@ComputerTechTV Well The issue of understanding the 460 is that it has limitions as well. You shoud give it a shot to, right now I am running a 5850 @975/1265 with a dedicated PhysX card (9800GT) and it works great and give a great performance when playing some game that requires PhysX,
@ComputerTechTV with 768mb models is pretty darn weird. the whole point is to run higher settings and res and the 768mb will limit the very settings you are trying to run. even at 1920x1080, several games will exceed 768mb before a gtx460 sli setup has reached its potential. Pay the $50 extra for the 1GB - you also get more ROPs, which are more important at higher resolutions.
@ComputerTechTV and just to let you now amd bulldozer is coming out also and microcenter has the i5 2500k for 180 bucks and anthore i5 2500 for 150 bucks i might get one in march or feburay
Hello, the card works only with the 6-pin adaptors plugged in ? It doesn't run without them ?

Hang onto that G80, the broken cap and be easily fixed. No skill needed just a simple tool. I should do a video of my machine some day.

Sandy bridge has been release for almost 9 days so far, why don't you add the 8800GT for dedicated PhysX and the 460 as a primary card.
keiki646 1 year ago
@keiki646 I was thinking of that but wasn't sure it would benefit. I heard a 8800gt 512 g92 or 9800gt was minimum.

Great vid man.The CM stacker seem to suit your needs better than the previous cases you have run.
