  • "$500!"

  • HAHAHA "I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV." HAHAHAHAHAHA LMFAO

  • It's amazing what a Google search will turn up from the archives! My sister (Betty's niece) did a Google search and found this video that none of us knew existed. It's been fun to watch to get a glimpse of where she worked for 25 yrs & the fun that she had. Great job with the video!

  • To Betty's relatives:

    Thanks and You're welcome!

I loved Betty and will always remember her! She will always be one of the most positive influences on my life.

I actually first knew her starting from when I was in the 8th grade and first visited the library and my admiration continued through the early 1990's when I was in graduate school and also teaching high school. She actually hired me back in the summers!

I will never forget this kind, humorous, generous, thoughtful, and amazing lady!

  • Betty Glover was my Mom. You just made an entire family happy with the memory of this tape! Thank You!!

  • Thanks so much for posting!! She was my nana and I never knew this video exsisted! It's so funny, great job!

  • Thank you for posting this video! Betty Glover was my aunt (my mom's older sister) and I miss her very much! A girlfriend and I drove from Florida to Arizona in 1992 to see her and had a blast...she definitely was one of a kind!

  • I take it you were a film student? This is very, VERY well done. Funny in its own right, not even taking into account the "haha, computers used to look like that" factor.

  • Вот уроды маральные

  • good ads

  • i tried to order.. but line is busy... must be really sellin'!!

  • é engraçado

    caro o filme heim...

  • Excellent, hilarious

  • awesome.

  • Van Halen on 78s - priceless!

  • So How's Betty nowadays? She was wonderful and has a great sense of humor, and really handles that prod!

  • you did an amazing job! loved it!

  • lol Whoever made this has an utterly amazing sense of humor. It makes me want to get busy with a librarian...

  • hahaha!!! ill be working in the library soon

  • As a librarian and fitness body builder I have only one thing to say about this video:

    This is frigging great.

  • This is one of my favorite videos of all time! Thank you so much for making it. Seriously, it being dated is NOT a bad thing! People don't always realize that dated doesn't have to be bad.

It seems like your library had the largest amount of employees ever!

P.s. I've edited linear and it's not the easiest.

  • Hilarious!

  • Brilliant! My favourite!!!

  • You broke the 100,000 views mark! Woohoo!

  • People keep commenting "how much things change in 20 years"... I can confirm the Hayden Library is not one of those things. Minute slightly more modern computers, and a nipple-like addition, it looks EXACTLY the same. I recognized it from a still shot of a bookcase.

  • Of course it's changed. I didn't see a single freshman in a tube top in that video or a throng of sleepers in the second floor reading area!

  • That was an awesome excercise video! Some of us are just too fat to do this, but definitely a good workout. I will write about at tincap . To visit it just go on google and search for "tincap".

  • BEST library video EVER!!!! Betty is now a legend here at our library!

  • haha, that's great.

  • i was born in 87 awesome

  • this is so funny i'd swear it was made nowadays to look old.

  • love those giant popped collars on that lady at 2:05

  • Awesome video! Come check out mine.

  • jejejejeje-i guess some things in the libraries doesn't change after all=)))this is really original!

  • I was 10 at the time this was made, and I was into computers then, yet it still amazes me just how

    old fashioned those computers look.

  • I was 21 when this was made, and I also was into computers since I was 10. There had been few advances from 1976 technology and that the of computers shown here. These were just "dumb terminals" tied to a mainframe. Early GUI's were available (both Mac and Windows), but they were not used here. The COMputer CATalog (SPIN) featured microfische of mainframe printouts of collections catalogged on old mainframes.

It took html to push things to the present.

  • This is only twenty years old-- things have changed!

  • "I'm not a doctor, but I play one on TV." Win!

  • holy sh#t lol

  • Wow. I was just in there studying 3 nights ago. My suspicions are confirmed; they have had that ugly furniture in there a long long time.

  • The advanced horizontal drawer pull!!! Hilarious! It's amazing how libraries have changed in 20 years.

  • LOL! this is great!

  • lol, this is pretty great

  • haha thats pretty funny i wasnt even born yet! thanks for this

  • omg this looks so old and it was made in the year i was born. Were all infomercials this cheesy?

  • i was not in this world

  • oh my lord this is awesome and hilarious

  • WOW

  • i want to buy the tape now

  • Too funny-I loved stereotype librarian Betty, the really bad '80s music that I remember and didn't think was that old or bad, and the satire of the annoying TV commercials. Great job! Thanks for the chuckle.

  • harharharhar! I love it! As a former library page, I wholeheartedly endorse this exercise video.

  • GAHAHAHAHAHAH ROFLLOLOMGWTFBBQ!!!

  • LOVE IT! Please see Bay County Public Library Welcomes Tony Simmons to see how far we have come? Can't wait to show this at work Tues! I work 'upstairs' in Technical Services 'where the food is'. We'll have a great time with this. Thank you so much for posting your short!

  • That is funny!!! Card catalogs...that takes me way, way back. :D

  • lol ARE YOU FRIGGIN SERIOUS ROFL

  • Pure genius!

  • wow, i stumbled upon this little gem, yet did i hear kraftwerk's the telephone call?? ;)

  • 5 stars!

  • I loled, especially because of the music.

  • A treasure, pure solid 80s librarian gold!

  • Van Halen in a Library 0.o

  • I love this video!

  • As an actual flabby librarian, I highly recommend the Betty Glover workout tape.

  • Love it!! Betty Glover, you rock! This has got to be in the top five YouTubes of all time. It's making the rounds here at the Pollak Library at Cal State Fullerton...JUMP!

  • God, I miss the Eighties...

  • I've recommended this to all my library coworkers. We were rolling on the floor behind the Reference Desk laughing.

  • HA that's hilarious!!

  • This is cool. Sort of a time capsule for Hayden Library
