  • Straightline maybe. We don't know the mods yet. The M5 should be as quick as the Merc and the GTR should be quicker. The geo on the GTR is far more superior to both allowing for much quicker cornering, exit and entry times but hey in this race, the Merc just about got away with it.

  • the 65s really hold their own... is that damn M5 modded? I highly doubt a stock one would keep chase to a 65 and GTR...

  • According to all test done in Germany the M5 equally fast as the CL65, so I guess this one could very well be stock.

  • tuskir911 raises a great point. Why were the early Nissan pulling 11's and now most of the GTR's being test in car mags are in the 12's..? Did Nissan marketing screw us? I love the car but that is BS on Nissan's part whether it was unintentional or not.

  • As with most turbo AWD cars they have great 0-60 times but the extra weight and AWD hamper roll on acceleration as a base 430hp Corvette should be able to run with or maybe even out run a GTR. When comparing all around performance its a different story.

  • either way this GT-R is pulling like a rape ape. So how much power it was said to make dont matter. Street performance is much more accurate than paper.

    well im the biggest gtr nut i could ever be, but i have to admit the gtr doesnt have as much off the roll. You can tell because it slows down on the 1/4 mile. (122mph trap speed)

    But with a retune race gas and exhaust i bet 600awhp+ is possible and that would cost maybe 3-4k. and then it would leave everything behind.

    They all say the GTR beats (almost) everything on the road.

    so how is that possible it doesn't beat a CL65 and hardly beats an M5 ? It just makes non sens to me.

    clearly you dont understand cars. your hp rating at the crank is 480...so your whp is probably around 400. there is no way you will gain 50% with a retune and exhaust! sorry ! it might be good for 50whp...but not 200

  • their proclaimed hp at the crank is way off, people have dynoed their gtr at around 430 to the wheels put about 22-23% power loss that gives you about 524hp to the crank

  • well i would have thought the gtr would have had a little better transfer than a sti, which has 25% power loss

  • every engine dynos different because each engine is hand built, all still in the same power range from 480-520. Also each transmission is specifically built for that engine

  • again, there has not been one which has dynoed to where it would have 480 hp at the flywheel. Will there ever be? I don't know, but so far no, there hasn't

  • GTR power claims are not "off", the early "test" cars were factory tuned with more boost than regular street cars. Look at the last 1/4 mile times with stock Nissan, it barely manages 12's while early ones did mid 11's. Nissan's marketing campaign is full of shit and some consumers are just to clueless and idiotic to realize this.

  • again, they weren't early test cars, these are actual production cars in the United States which were pulling 520 hp to the crank. Trust me i've seen enough videos for proof

    Here (unless the computers detected wheelspin) is probably mostly rwd power. That is why it is fast on the roll less power sapp.
