  • How do you get an arcsoft showbiz

  • @SpiritualGamer101 It comes on the installation disc when you purchase our VC500 device.

  • when i made a video with the vc500 it made a very loud static noise. I dont know why this happened if you know please respond ASAP.

  • @CDXM000009 The static noise could be from the sound card on your computer or the cables going from the source to our VC500 device. I would try a different source (VCR, camcorder, TV, DVD Player, etc.), a different set of composite cables (if you have them), and uninstall and reinstall the drivers for the sound card (or update the drivers for the sound card) to see if it fixes the problem. You can also try installing our device on another computer to see if you get the same problem.

  • I was able to see this video on my lap top, but sound was way to low to hear. I tried this on my desktop and it only runs for 30 - 35 seconds and stops. (good sound thou..)

  • @OttoQuast May be an issue with the video card in your desktop if the video played on the laptop without problems. You also may want to try adjusting the sound either through the player or through Windows system sound to see if it improves the sound output.

  • When i go to click Capture Device as you explain around 1:00, it says "The device is not available, or being used by another program." Any idea why it's telling me that?

  • @MoldECheeze If there is another application on your computer that can capture video, such as a TV tuner or a web camera, then it may be conflicting with our device and causing it to show that message. An alternative solution to this may be to try using the EZ Grabber application that also came with our VC500 to capture your video with.

  • I am so lost with this - I wish the manual was a little more informative. I can capture VHS using the grabber but when I try the AcrSoft I get an error that the player is being used elsewhere - ??? I am able to edit in ArcSoft, and go to produce, but when I try to post to youtube I get an error saying that I am not connected to the internet even though I am... ??

  • @ncgirlfive I would check to see if you have any other hardware or software that can be used to capture video first, such as a camera or TV tuner, and disable or uninstall the software that comes with it and then try running the program again. As for the YouTube issue, I would check your firewall settings and if all else fails, you can just go to YouTube and upload the captured video file from your computer.

  • @ncgirlfive i had the same problem, when you go to capture video, save it as MPEG2 (bottom left corner). Then, don't post directly to youtube, go to produce and create file and on file type click file. Save the file as AVI. Then go to YouTube.com and click on upload, then select the file and it should work :) also can you look at my channel :P

  • Is the quality good? Does the sound stay with the video and does the video skip? I bought a $10 capture cars and it had these problems

  • @GamerDudeXtreme The quality is as good as you would get for composite video. Depending on what source (VCR, DVD, video camera, or game console) you connect to it, the capturing of the video and audio usually has no skips or lags in it. Most times, the lag is caused by having a computer that barely meets the minimum requirements to run our device, or from the video card being low quality. Always playback the recorded video after capturing to see if there are problems.

  • @dmmadmin2 Thanks much apretiated

  • @MisterMunos Fast Forward would be through moving the track bar (white triangle cursor) across the video. If you wanted to have the video move at a faster speed, then unfortunately the software will only allow you to play video at normal speed.

  • can the vc500 be used to make lets plays? if it can would i be able to add commentary.

  • @MrTCM817 You can do voice-overs in using this software. However, you will have to adjust the volume if you have background noise so that people can hear your voice and not just the background. This option is available above the storyboard by clicking on the microphone icon.

  • Good presentation

I have capturee some VHS videos what I have not been able to figure out how do I edit the mpg file to get rid of blanks etc

    Thanks

  • @jfp070843 There is a scissor icon above the storyboard called "Multiple Trim" that will allow you to edit out breaks, commercials, and any other parts from your video.

  • for some reason when i hit capture it has a black screen andwhen i hit record it makes these huge blasting noises and it makes my ears bleed PLEASE HELP!!

  • @alwayssaynever123 On the Capture module, click on the button that says "Device Settings". On the window that opens up, click on the tab that says "Video Decoder" and check that the video format is set to "NTSC_M" instead of "PAL_D". Also, you may want to check that the Audio Source is set for "Audio Pin Source" within the Capture module. You can also try using the EZ Grabber software to see if you can capture video without the noise.

  • i want it to open directly in the capture tab .. is it possible ?? i don't need the edit tab 'cause i use premiere pro ..

  • @TheWaveSin Nothing gets put onto the Capture tab as the module will close the moment you hit the "Stop Capture" button below the preview window. However, if you just need the file as you would be using a third party software to edit your videos, at the bottom of the Capture module window, there is a path where the captured videos get saved to. Just go to that path on your computer and grab the video file from there to use with your own program.

  • @halojunkie1000 Yes, this software will work on Windows Vista.

  • @dmmadmin2 WAT DID U USE TO CAPTURE UR GAMEPLY

  • @kelo8996 The game play was captured using our VC500 device from a Playstation 2 game console unit running Arcsoft Showbiz. You can also use EZ Grabber, the other software application that comes with our VC500 device, to capture game play as well.

  • I've a couple of issues when capturing video using the VC500 & the Capture software (mine's not called EZ Grabber for some reason). Anyway, when capturing AVI output, the capture screen is basically a distorted mess (although the recorded file plays back normally) and the outputted files are enormous, typically 35GB for 30mins of video.

Also this product would be fantastic if it could capture 720p, any plans?

  • @MrMacadoo With our capture device, it brings over the video from your source uncompressed. The AVI format will take up the most storage space on your computer. Usually, when burning to a DVD, you will want to pick the "DVD" format where the file size would be about approximately 1.2 - 1.4 GB for 30 minutes. As for 720p, given that this device only does up to 576i, it cannot output to 720p as it is. At the moment, we do not have any plans of releasing a capture device for 720p as of yet.

  • Does the software work with the ubuntu(Linux) O.S.?

  • @XxxDemiGodxxX1 As far as I know, this software only works on Windows based operating systems, such as Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. You may want to contact the software manufacturer of this program to see if they have the source code to make the software work on a Linux O.S.

  • When I capture the video it always stops capturing at the same spot. 01.47.00. How do I get it to record the entire VHS tape?

  • @celebritybarb I would first check with the other software program we use with our VC500 device, the EZ Grabber, to see if you get the same issue. If it does occur again on another capture software application, then I would try another VHS tape or another VCR to see if it gives you the same problem. It is possible that if the VHS tape was a commercially produced movie, it have have copyright protection on it and this may be the reason why the capture stops at the same point.

  • @celebritybarb (cont.) I would also check if you have plenty of storage space on your hard driver for capturing video with and also try our device on another computer to see if you get the same problem.

  • Can you edit your video's in slow motion? Can you change the playback speed on Arcsoft Showbiz?? (For a montage)

  • @SP199208 As far as I know, the Arcsoft Showbiz program does not have an option to allow videos to play in slower or faster speeds. You can fast-forward or reverse your video clips, but the speed of how the clip plays is not changeable.

  • i was looking everywhere for a download on this, since when i bought the capture card i only installed the program for it to record but now i realized that the second disk is also important but my computer can't read it and it is all scratched up, I really should have known but is there a way of getting this program by using the number behind the device (threw away the box :( )

  • @HonorableJFilm Just contact us here at Diamond and we can help you out with problems or concerns regarding the VC500 video capture device.

  • when you record on your computer how would i add my voice into the video?

  • @lennydoeswalkthrough After loading your video clip into the storyboard, there is a microphone button located above the storyboard. It will open an audio recording utility where you can start recording your voice by pressing the record button. When you want to stop the audio recording, simply press the red record button in the audio record utility and the file will output in wma format. You can then incorporate the file into the project storyboard and then adjust the audio if necessary.

  • I finally got time to test the V500 out from you guys, pretty neat and I was able to record myself playing call of duty on my PS3 but its choppy, is it because of my video card? Or are there any ways to at least reduces the amount of lag?

You can check my video (only 1) in my profile if interested. Thanks!

  • @accordeuroTypeR We watched your video and did not notice any lag or choppiness on the recording. Some of the factors that can cause lag in general vary from processor, to system memory, to the video card, to your internet connection. If you are using a built-in video card on your computer instead of an actual video card, then that may be the cause of the lag since the video streaming from the PS3 to the capture device is too much for the internal graphics card to handle.

  • @dmmadmin2

There is lag/choppiness in the video since the audio and video are out of synch if you pay close attention.

  • @accordeuroTypeR We have used the VC500 to capture from the PS3 using a laptop and a desktop. The laptop was a dual core 1.8 GHz processor and 4 GB of RAM, along with a Radeon X1200 video card. The desktop had a hexacore processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a Radeon HD 6950 video card. Both systems were running Windows 7. Lag was experienced with the laptop, but not with the desktop.

  • @accordeuroTypeR (cont.) As for splitter cables, it is not recommended as the signal will degrade from the PS3 to the computer and would be wasting more cables than needed to capture with our device.

  • Since there are so many comments of you helping people I was hoping you could help me. In the preview screen is black. sometimes I can get my audio from my xbox 360 to come through but that is about it. As soon as I open the recording tab, a message pops up and says that either that another program is using the capturing device or that it cannot detect that the capturing device is even there. Please help me, I am getting very frustrated.

  • @lasana35 I would check to see if you have another program such as a web camera application, or a video capture application other than the software installed with our device, I would try removing or disabling the camera to see if the software will allow you to use the device without giving the message. You can also use the EZ Grabber software to capture your videos and then from there, bring them into Showbiz to edit and upload to YouTube.

  • @lasana35 (cont.) The most likely problem with your setup would be the source it is set to for our device. By default, it is set to "PAL", which is a European and eastern country system format. The setting for most countries in North America is "NTSC_M". I would try changing the format within the EZ Grabber, if possible, to see if the image will pop up then from your Xbox. Assuming the video format is setup correctly for the Xbox to use composite cables, you should see video after this change.

  • i am able to record with my capture card (vc500) but is it suppose to take so long? cause its taking like 400+ minutes and also theres a lil black rectangle on the bottom whenever i record...

  • @mysteryfonzie If you are trying to record video from copyrighted material, then it is possible the black rectangle is a type of protection the video has to prevent copying the video. I would try recording using the EZ Grabber program that came with our VC500 device first and then edit and burn the video clips to DVD using Arcsoft. I would also try another VHS tape or another VCR or DVD player to see if you get the same problem. Also, try another USB port or another computer to see if that works

  • @mysteryfonzie (cont.) As for recording, you would need to stop the recording in order to output a video file as our device is not designed to record for a set duration of time before stopping. If you are referring to burning videos to DVD, if it is slow, then I would recommend trying a more faster computer, or turning off all Startup processes on your computer as this may take away resources from your computer to render and write the data from your computer to the DVD.

  • @mysteryfonzie Most DVD's when burning may take around 40 minutes to an hour to burn up to 2 hours of video clips. This will depend on the specs of the computer you are using with our software, from CPU, to RAM, to DVD burner write speed. Faster speeds will allow for faster writing of data to the DVD disc.

  • can u use slow and fast motion in this program

  • @xTRISTENx11 The only way to advance through a video in using this program would be to adjust the slider on the preview window or switch to Timeline view on the Edit tab. Also, you can take the blue square at the beginning of the video clip and drag it through the video to advance to a certain point or return to a previous point in your video.

  • I HAV A PROBLEM IT WONT LET ME USE IT 4 SOME REASON WHEN INSTALLING IT SAYS I NEED TO PUT IN INFORMATION BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT TO PUT IN HELP PLEASE

  • @96komodo If the information it is asking you for is the license key, that can be found on the back of the envelope where the installation CD is located. On the flap, there is a sticker and the long alphanumeric code is the license key. You will need to enter in all characters, including dashes, in order to install the software on your computer.

  • when i go to capture its only the black screen and than i see record but i wanna record my xbox360 so i put my xbox360 on and its still black screen and i cant record or i dont see the options PLEASE HELP

  • @RandomGaming26 I would check to see if there is a setting on the Xbox 360 that you have to change to set it for composite video to allow our device to detect the hardware it is using. Make sure that only the Xbox is connected to our device and you may want to try using a different set of composite cables to see if the signal may be weak due to a bad set of cables.

  • Hey, when I try to use the capture tab, it keeps saying "the device is not available or is being used by another application. Please close any applications that may be using the device and try again". Nothing else is running, so I know that nothing is using it. How can I fix this?

  • @BygPhattyPlus You may want to check your computer to see if there any other programs installed on your computer that can record video, such as software published by Roxio or Cyberlink. If there are, remove these programs and try running Showbiz again. I would also make sure that the EZ Grabber program is also not running on your computer at the same time Showbiz is running. You can also remove EZ Grabber temporarily to see if the Showbiz program work properly as both programs can capture video.

  • @BygPhattyPlus (cont.) I would also try uninstalling and reinstalling the Showbiz software from your computer to see if the problem goes away. You may want to also try uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers and software for the device and try the device on another computer to see if you get the same problem.

  • help ;( when i press capture it just record me ;( not my ps3 help plz...

  • @xREAL22Q8x Make sure to change your source from your camera to "Capture Device" by clicking on the drop-down arrow as this is how our VC500 detects when using the Showbiz program when opening the "Capture" tab.

  • @dmmadmin2 yh i tried .... i put it to usb video device it wouldnt record

but maybe easycap i didnt plug it to spliters or s-video ;) thnx

  • how do you add text? it won't let me

  • @TheSuicidalGerbil When you open the TotalMedia Studio program when creating your DVD, you can double click on the text that says "Double-Click Here to Add Text" to edit the text that will show up on the final product before burning it to DVD. You can also preview the entire production on the next tab before going to "Produce" to burn to DVD.

  • @dmmadmin2

    thanks!
