mmm advice, you should move a lil bit in the begining cuz ..... u look like a robot all the 8 minuts, remember you are a musician!! .... and u have to make us feel the way you are feelin and i felt kinda stressed all time..... the rest was pretty good :) !

Honestly, I didn't like. Yet I think your interpretation was good. The reason why I didn't like has to do with the fact that some of the effects of the maracas were lost because in the recording. I suppose this was recorded in mono, right?
This was not recorded in mono. The hall has a pretty live sound to it and it's a bit difficult to get the levels right. Also, the maracas are really loud, or at least louder than anticipated for the sake of the recording.
Excellent work. Contrary to earlier comments, you have perfectly captured the spirit of the piece, and your interpretation is not only excellent, but consistent with every other superb interpreter of the piece that I have seen. Kudos!
And, I agree. The sheet music is really just a suggestive document (or a nice piece of artwork, when framed and hung correctly ;)
Have the sheet music. It is mostly an improvisatory piece with suggestions. Have you seen Aljandro Ilgesias? How about Evelyn Glennie's version? She hardly even plays with the tape.
If you'd like to actually suggest the "point of this piece," please go ahead. Because, you haven't.
Im a mexican young composer. I had the oportunity to see Javier Alvarez making this piece alive in Sala Chavez, CU (UNAM), DF. Alvarez versions are the best, but Iglesias version is very very nice because it has a deep background work inside the piece.

You have completely missed the point to this piece...please rework and reread the sheet music to this.
