  • Profound words of the the day: "U can't live without your pancreas"

  • and yet as americans hear the same thing over and over and over again, we use our drugs and alcohol like rock and roll stars. WE ALL FALL DOWN! cheers

  • I hear that Duff McKagan almost died...

  • Worst documentary ever. The most common cause of pancreatitis is NOT alcohol. It is infection from a various degree of reasons. The alcohol could lower the immune system to make it more likely. But alcohol does not kill pancreas. It kills livers.

  • my hat off to duff mckagan thank the lord that guided him in the right direction

  • @americanwomansms His book is an awesome one. He tells why he drank so much on tour/off tour.

  • @americanwomansms The "LORD" didn't help duff. Duff helped duff.

  • @americanwomansms

    BaHahahahahahahaahhaa !!!!

  • Just how bad must have Steven been if they were all on all kinds of things

    Scarey isn't it

  • Comment removed

  • is anyone else crying???

  • @katiebell1995 Aw that's so sweet :)

  • @johnjnukemsheridan i love duff and slash im goin to see slash next year<3

  • @katiebell1995 Yeah, they're real troopers and true musicians...my sister would be very jealous of you lol, she's a bigger fan than I am!

  • @johnjnukemsheridan im going to rape him :D

  • @katiebell1995 lmao xD

  • 4:56 nice tits

  • i hate how american tv repeats everything about a million times in a real dramatic way.........FINALLY AFTER YEARS OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE DUFF MCKAGAN WAS ABOUT TO DIE FINALLY AFTER YEARS OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE DUFF MCKAGAN WAS ABOUT TO DIE FINALLY AFTER YEARS OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE DUFF MCKAGAN WAS ABOUT TO DIE FINALLY AFTER YEARS OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE DUFF MCKAGAN WAS ABOUT TO DIE FINALLY AFTER YEARS OF ALCOHOL AND DRUG ABUSE DUFF MCKAGAN WAS ABOUT TO DIE

  • @eamogoreilly THAT NIGGA COULD DIE! He could DIE! Yeah, TV announcer guy, Duff was in mortal danger, we get it.

  • @eamogoreilly racist...

  • @eamogoreilly its because if you just started watching it and missed the beginning

  • @eamogoreilly lol... you're so right. And the reason for doing this? Ads on tv! Each time you hear the same shit again, that means there has been an ad break. Just imagine how many times in 10 minutes they get told to buy something...

  • pussy, he could not keep up with keith richards thats for sure

  • @crackernumber2 Umm.. a Gallon a day is pretty badass. Keith richards is a badass tho

  • @comptonassterry100 really man you know what?? im glad duff quit drinking who would want to keep up with keith?? its because richards is so skinny and small that is one of the reasons he is still alive. duff is a big guy and the booze, weight, coke, just wreaked his body

  • @crackernumber2 there have been many overweight rock n rollers. Ozzy was like Duffs size in the 80s

  • Oh shit, he almost died the day I was born.

  • Damn...

  • a gallon of vodka every day for 10yrs,lucky he's still alive..hope he stays sober.

  • man it was so fuckin sad..and then slash comes up with his mind blowing solo and its so so positive suddenly...ah, slash, love you dude

    duff mckagan is the man

  • In 2000 Duff attended Seattle University. When he co-founded Velvet Revolver with ex Guns N' Roses band mates Slash and Matt Sorum he completed his accounting degree over the Internet.

  • Duff also earned a BA in Accounting via an online college course.

  • I bet he got a lot of hairy stank poontang back in the day

  • "DUFF MCKAGAN.... COULD DIE!"

  • This is great, informing, etc. Good stuf even though its sad.

  • hes just cool.

  • He's a good guy .Very humble and humbled

  • What a great story. Gives hope to other alcoholics out there.

  • damn. when I first heard about this I was in a total shock. he totally had an angel on his shoulder. that he survived is a miracle. I'm glad he did. he's very lucky and I admire him that he totally quit the booze.

  • he's very lucky, but being a millionaire, to afford the best doctors doesn't hurt. Glad he cleaned up, he was a mess during the illusion tour

  • he took on having his own band called Loaded

  • And Ateve Adler got kicked out of GNR for too many drugs and alcohol. Imagine how bad he was!

  • Broken back man did it trying to blow himself.

  • matt sorum was not former drummer!

    steven Adler was!

  • @skypjuh wrong, after Adler was fired, Matt was his replacement, and then MAtt got fired too, so that makes him the former drummer of GNR

  • @NotoriousYeshi hmm the former drummer is the original drummer of Guns N' Roses the very first one?

  • @skypjuh wrong again, if he was part of the band at whatever point it was, and now he isnt in the banda anymore, that makes him a former member...DUHH

  • @NotoriousYeshi whatever you call it....

  • GNR stopped touring in 93 NOT 94.

Simple facts gone unchecked, imagine the other false facts in the story

  • You just can't live without your pancreas!

  • "But Duff used the same intensity he brought to rock n roll to his recovery" ...*thumbs up* ...xD who the hell wrote this?

  • @ghosterdude, addiction may be a common things among great artists but it certainly does not make them similar. AThey're both legends in very unique ways.

  • he's a lot like dave mustaine.

  • miracles exsists.. and it happens on the right person

  • I hate to disagree but, YOU CAN LIVE WITHOUT A PANCREASE!!! I'm living without mine! It is the worst pain in the world! You really would rather die. The pain is aweful!!! I had a chronic pancreatitis for 6 and 1/2 yrs when they said it was starting to calcify. My pancreatitis is idiopathic (unknown reason)! And was removed. But I still live in constant pain!

  • Good to see Duff Healthy! again. Awesome bass player, Awesome Guy!

  • Great man.

  • You know, we don't need all these "don't do drugs/don't drink" assemblies at school. They just need to show us videos like these O_O

  • @BassGuitarGirl4 That is true.

  • duff got hotter

  • wait... so was he on the verge of death? i wasn't too clear on that.

i'm happy he made it through.

  • keep it up, duff!

  • its cool that duff growes brighter, compared to axl haha... cool duff! :D

  • @saxobank96

axl on the other hand never abused from drinking or drugs, he never had any addiction

  • Duff is my man !!

  • fuck.. I want to live that life style

  • A gallon of vodka everyday - WTF!!!!

  • Im glad Duff got healthy. Im proud of him

  • good luck to you.

    you're a good man.

  • be glad hes still livin

  • "you can't live without your pancreas"

I don't know why, but it made me smile, I think it was the way he said it

  • Haha, i know. It's like "No shit!"

  • I think what makes it funny is the way that the fat guy over-emphasizes it in a 'tv speak' kinda way

  • That's a hell of a story. Good for Duff.

  • Im 18 and have experianced the exact same pain, I thought i was gunna die everynight I spent in the hospital, this condition is unbelivably painful, I'll Die if I drink it sucks

  • im glad i have a broken back not what u have haha

  • there are 3 parts to this therefore a half an hour program, this section is just under 7 minutes, that means that's 9 minutes (about 30%) of the half an hour slot taken up by adverts! is that what yank tv's like

  • sounds about right, do redcoats get less commercials? probably because companies aren't as interested in spending the money to advertise on something no one is gonna see.

  • in England they don't show as many adverts because they know most of the population isn't too fat to get up and change the channel lol

  • are you sure about that? the UKs obesity rate is almost the same as the US. that means there are almost just as many fatties in the UK as in the US. both of you should be ashamed at how many fat people are in your countries. yuk

  • just making sure canadians don't find us attractive and attempt to rape us if we mistakingly go there

  • i like fat people i think they are nicer than skinny people

  • The picture with Susan is at least 2 years after the pancreatitis incident. He just met her in 1996. Really silly mix of words and pictures.

But I like the real interview part. It's very honest.

  • Try to be famous... everybody... play rock... I'm gona support you.... I'm the president of the geffen records.... they were real cool.... I'm gonna support you!

  • In order to escape his demons, Duff hurled himself into physical exercise and MARTIAL ARTS

  • I'm 17 and I actually have pancreatitis...I've had it since December, and they dont know the cause, but its not from drinking. I take percocet for the pain and I'm on a non fat diet.

Although I didnt suffer like Duff did, unlike Duff my condition is chronic, which blows. I was never in danger of death at all, and not really excruciating pain, but Duff recovered faster.

I just felt like saying that, if you dont give a shit just ignore it.

  • damn, he looks so much different now. a gallon of vodka is insane! rock on Duff

  • whats the vr song at 6.15?

  • velvet revolver - the last fight

  • He's a likeable guy. That's why people care for him. Sometimes you get lost in life and things have to change as Duff found out.

  • Slash also had heart problems cause of the drinking and was told his going to die in 6weeks or something like that.

    But he got better.

  • after they put a pace-maker into him

  • Here's the thing I don't understand... The narrator says Duff would've been on dialysis had they removed part of his pancreas. As far as I know, dialysis is to treat kidney problems... Am I missing something?

  • Man.. did someone count just how many times the narrator has said: Duff could die! Or Duff will die! or Duff's gonna die! damn...

  • he didnt cheat death :) the world just knew we couldnt live without him cause hes just amazing <3 he gives me these out of the blue cheds :D i love it well i love him xD keep it up duff we need you :)

  • my brother is going through this right now. he hasn't eaten since december 12th. the most pain i've ever seen anyone go through. he's as bad if not worse than duff was. just awful. cysts on pancreas, abcesses, infections, i don't wish this on anyone.

  • Kudos to this guy, Booze can destroy your life.

ill smoke a doob anyday over a drink.

  • its a miracle he is still playing....

  • This is creepy. POOR DUFF<3

  • did they said he has acute whatever how is it acute when his pancris is the size of a fooball WTF medical mumbojumbo

  • Acute pancreatitis is a sudden inflammation of the pancreas. Depending on its severity, it can have severe complications and high mortality despite treatment. While mild cases are often successfully treated with conservative measures, such as NPO (abstaining from any oral intake) and IV fluid rehydration, severe cases may require admission to the ICU or even surgery (often more than one intervention) to deal with complications of the disease process. thanks uncle WIKI!!! ahahaha...

  • Acute in this case just means it was fast, instead of gradually swelling over like a couple years, it just got big all of a sudden.

  • a gallon of vodka...........A DAY?!?!

lmao OWNED, dude i would die instantly if i did that shit ONCE xD

  • Great Stuff thank you!

  • duff is my favorite bassist

  • 5:14....lol

  • at 0:47 when he talkes about the guy with the broken back was kinda funny hehehe "dude im glad i have a broken back and not what you have"

  • Fucking shit, this was so sad to hear, It was hard to listen on :/..

  • I love you, Duff.

    you're my hero.

    you are one lucky son-of-a-bitch.

  • HOLY SHIT!! DUFF!! YOU POOR BABY!!!

internal 3rd degree burns! OWIE OWIE OWIE!!!!

oh god, if i heard Duff was in the hospital, i wouldve flipped out.

  • A GALLON of vodka a DAY? Is that humanly possible?? Shit, I thought *I* drank a lot. I quit drinking too, but I wasn't even remotely close to or within a MILE of his intake.

  • I find it hard to believe that Duff aint drinking with his new band. I sincerely hope not.

  • They should use this in 'Drink Responsibly' adverts.

  • @aaciseric exactly. and there shoudn't be a fear of self incrimination for ppl to speak out about their drug and alcohol use. So others can learn it is not a worthwhile lifestyle.

  • Duff IS the Men I Love GNR since I Was Kid!

  • Yea, I remember in the 90's seeing interview w/ G&R, Duff always appeared drunk...like all all the time.

  • I love Duff man. I'm soooooooo glad to hear he straightened up his life.

  • Jesus
