"The carpenters were a gift from Mr. and Mrs. Al Bianchi..." Al Bianchi played for the Syracuse Nats of the NBA at that time. Maybe he was a friend of Vaughn's?
NEVER thought I'd get to hear this! My parents' copies were confiscated after the assassination! But Mom has always loved to do her version of 'the tour'. Great to hear the original! THANKS!
It's so funny when I took a tour of the historic White House some years back, instead of absorbing what the tour guide was saying -- all I could think of was this spoof of Jackie's tour as it was being replayed in my head!!
I read somewhere that Jackie did not like this one bit. I think it is hilarious. She was known to be very intelligent, perhaps she did not like the fact they dumbed her down. Mr. Veader paved the way for the political parody. Thank you Mr. Meader.
Haven't heard this in probably 45 years. An older sister of mine had the album and listened to it frequently. I love Jackie pointing out the paintings. "Well........ there's this one, and this one, and that great big one over there, and this little teeny one down here....." Good stuff.
@ 5:56: "Now I've got an important conference in, er, fifteen minutsch. So I must be dressed in, er, ten minutsch. Which means I shawl haff to move ahead, er, toward our bedroom with great vigah."
I love how she points out the paintings! There is this one, and this big one, and the little one.... ROFL! Haven't heard this in years. Richard Nixon drinking room and dumbwaiter....mmmmm. Thanks!
She sounds just like her!!! When I heard the "dust gift" part I couldn't stop laughing! I wasn't alive when he was president, but they're my favorite first family and I've read a lot about them and it really sounds like something they would say & that makes it even more funny!! Love this.
What a scream. I haven't heard this since I was a kid, at least ten years after the assassination. It was years before I realised how great a job the comedienne doing Jackie's voice really nailed it.
My god, I'm crying and my stomach hurts. I've had to stop this countless times so I don't explode.
LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT. It's so refreshing to see a satirical side to Kennedy's family, rather than all those soppy tributes with sad violin in the backround.
@funkypunkno2 I've been hearing about this record all my life. Actually, I'm amazed by how sympathetic it is to these people. The things my Great-grandparents used to say about them could have peeled the paint right off the walls. They'd start with "Gold-digging nouveaux-riche gangster moll", and then it would get UGLY from there...

I also listened to this when I was a child, in the late 60's. Still funny in year 2011! ESP the Nixon jokes; now that they are both gone.
