julia adopted kathy after kathy's parents died in a car accident. [Noah's supposedly dead] but after the whole greg madden incident back in 2005 it was revealed that Kathy was actually Tad&Dixie's long lost child Kate .
Very true, but the explanation for this is that Maria, Mateo, Sam, and Rosa all live in California. I would imagine that her family had the body flown to California for funeral preparations, etc. Just guessing on this, but I could be wrong.....
This is odd...Did Julia and Krystal have any kind of relationship? I mean, were they close. Krystal just seems like an odd choice to be at Julia's side.

Yes, she did. The original actress wanted to do other things. The new Colby took over a few weeks ago. She's alright.. it's going to take some getting use to.
She was my favorite character.
