This journalist has not only got their facts wrong, they have manipulated people in order to get the story which they set out to obtain. A very poor example of their profession.

Anybody who takes an objective view of the activities of the large palm oil producers in Malaysia, especially UP, and who takes the time to understand properly how they look after their people and their business will quickly realise that this article badly misrepresents the truth on the ground.

Is this what the journalistic ethics has come down to now?? It's a shame that Politiken has stooped so low to sell a sensational story. I had high regards for the western journalism, but what Politiken has done here has put a serious dent to it. Why doesn't POlitiken have the decency to retract this story and issue and apology seems to even further deepen the damage.

@takeasie let me tell you one thing, I have grown up wt oil palm plantations around me and I have so many friends & relatives who've worked in plantations. The allegations are truly far-fetched. People who're ignorant of the true situation will believe this allegations. But I don't blame them as they are after all misinformed. I've been following this story with interest now and I'm amazed that the journalist hasn't followed the cardinal rule of journalism, which is always check your facts!
