does anyone have any of the links or uploads themselves about old science films from the 40's-50's?? i remember they were just like these health and human service ones
Just uploaded the 1972 remake to my channel...it's essentially the same as the original, but w/a few minor changes, and the "blame the victim" mentality has been toned down considerably (rather than calling the hitchhikers "dumb bunnies", the narrator refers to hitchhiking itself as a "dumb stunt", and the "Dodo" segment has been replaced by a recap montage that reiterates the film's key points)
@killersfromouterspac - A great read...incidentally, b/c it was published in 1999, Smith lamented that there was no way for the average person to see those classic educational films...little did he know that YT was only a few years away!
I just found this on Pub-D-Hub. One of the best Cautionary Films EVER.
I totally cracked up at how the narrator said this part:
"Do you know what dodo is? A dodo is an extinct bird. THAT means it isn't ALIVE anymore. That's the way THIS dodo's going to be: Extinct... Well, who do you want to be like kids? A dumb dodo, or a really smart kid?"
We saw this when I was in Kindergarten. Thanks to Sid Davis and the Arlington County Public School system I still have trouble sitting next to a person of the opposite sex in a movie theatre.
Love the production music used here. IMO I believe one of the composers used (mentioned on the My Little Margia description in that video's description) is Alexander Laszlo, as some of the music near the end is somewhat similiar (the theme from that sitcom in turn reminds me a tad of "Holiday for Strings', the WWII orchestra pop hit by Dave Rose, Judy Garland's future hsuband).
...but strangers have the best candy.

A dodo is an extinct bird. That means it's not alive anymore!

"More than your parents want what I about. Make sure doesn't hap too." Sounds like Professor Farnsworth is messing around with the timestream again.
