its way heavier out there than it looks. Paddled it at lower tide solo, only got one wave. locked in from bus stops to cobras at least 7 or 10 seconds. A life changer for sure. sucking so hard, First time i saw the bottom that entire summer. and made an exit. Didnt feel the need to surf for 2 weeks. literally changed my body chemistry. Just floating around the land content, nothing could rattle me. Now i am old and injured so i gotta watch and type. Rip it up you healthy chargers. I am jealous

I was in popoyo last july and a swell of this size, maybe bigger, hit and he was the first one out there paddling into some waves with 30-35ft faces. He takes some poundings too.

probably the cheapest place you can go in centra america and get good surf, am a costa rican but i live in the states now, and i prefer to go to nicaragua then to costa rica, way cheaper and great surf, i usually fly out miami and its only like 200usd sometimes, and its only a two hour fly so you can make this a weekend trip!!! and only spend around $500 airfare and food and a place to stay inlcuded.

Man, I wandered Central America for three months, and when I got to Popoyo (which, incidentally, was only a few months after this was filmed), I just dropped everything for like 2 weeks. The surf just rocked. To this day, my favorite spot I've ever surfed. That and maybe Sunzal in El Salvador.

Dude, ramzafly, whereas I do agree that Costa is a beautiful country (god I loved Mal-Pais), it's become WAY too tourist oriented. Nicaragua is like what Costa was 10 years ago as far as travel is concerned. It's less expensive, and easily as beautiful, and I didn't find the people to be any less friendly than the Ticos. I love both countries, but I'd take Nicaragua anyday, and no, I don't use a jet-ski.

I would guess most likely because of the wind factor. This video is deceiving as far as size goes, but I would say most of that stuff is paddle-in-able except for a few in the beginning. I've gotten hung up at the lip real nice there and it's not a fun landing. Strider and TC towed in at a similar size... maybe we need their input on this. This is Colin Eberly by the way and I'm sure my pops would be stoked to hear from old friends.
