You f. bet it was unforgettable! Kavakos is something else. I don't think I moved an inch the whole passagalia, cadenza and last movement. Completely floored me.

Sorry, I can't post the rest, because, when Kavakos started to play the solo cadenza in the 3rd movement, .I was too touched by his performance to continue to follow and record at the same time...sorry...I can't say how stunning it was...have no words to describe my emotions...just UNFORGETTABLE

I was fortunate to be there to experience this unforgettable performance live. Intense and thrilling by turn, Kavakos's approach was absolutely fearless and technically stunning. (The LSO leader was hugely impressed and didn't mind showing it!) Gergiev drew every once of drama from this masterwork.
