Gore could have responded more directly to the question; he did not comment on whether or not he acknowledged the errors (mostly sensationalism) in his documentary. However, McAleer did not allow him to finish when he interjected with information that differs from the scientific consensus. It is easy to see why McAleer's microphone was turned off - his was taking an inordinate amount of time to try to get Gore to acknowledge faulty information about polar bears.
The number of polar bear has not shown any overall increase in recent years. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature has stated that polar bears will be extirpated from their range within 100 years if climate trends continue. Scientists from the IUCC have concluded in that, of the 19 recognized polar bear populations, 8 are declining, 3 are stable, 1 is increasing, and 7 have insufficient data (2009). It is evident that it has worsened since the 2005 study.

The nuts that are now promoting Global Warming were promoting Global Cooling back in the 70's, the consensus of scientist predicted that glaciers would advancing down to the Dakotas by the year 2000. Gore could have responded more directly to the question; he did not comment on whether or not he acknowledged the errors (mostly sensationalism) in his documentary. However, McAleer did not allow him to finish when he interjected with information that differs from the scientific consensus. It is easy to see why McAleer's microphone was turned off - his was taking an inordinate amount of time to try to get Gore to acknowledge faulty information about polar bears.

The number of polar bear has not shown any overall increase in recent years. The International Union for the Conservation of Nature has stated that polar bears will be extirpated from their range within 100 years if climate trends continue. Scientists from the IUCC have concluded in that, of the 19 recognized polar bear populations, 8 are declining, 3 are stable, 1 is increasing, and 7 have insufficient data (2009). It is evident that it has worsened since the 2005 study.

Polar bears were hunted until the 1950's. After the hunting mostly stopped, the numbers increased. Now they are losing their habitat. Many of the subpopulations are declining already. If the ice loss continues, they will go extinct. Simple as that.

Yes, climate is changing. It has for billions of years. The question is, in what ways does it threaten/benefit us, and how (if at all) should we react?
When scrutinized, the solutions proposed by people like Gore place the economy under the heavy boot of regulation while doing little to help the environment. Plus, he stands to make millions in the carbon trading business.
So yes, while a scientist may stand better to questioning, it's alarming that politicians like Gore are shielded from it.

That's another issue that there isn't much disagreement about among scientists.
If the North Pole melts, as it's currently doing, the polar bears are pretty endangered.
The process of science assumes that there is no international conspiracy among scientists.
Scientists, in other words, are not anti-science.
The oil industry, on the other hand, is not too happy about the conclusions that scientists are reaching.
Much like the tobacco industry back in the 1950s.

Science operates by consensus. It is interesting to look at the work of a scientist here or a scientist there, but you know you're really getting somewhere when the entire scientific community finally reaches consensus on an issue.

Of course, 31,000 scientists don't appear to be a "scientist here or a scientist there". To me, they just appear to be shut out by the media, Algore and organizations like the IPCC which is an arm of the UN that hates the US-nothing more. Funny how if I give you a half of an apple, you consider it a full apple. Do you try to buy something that costs a dollar with 50 cents? I'd really like to know how many scientists view AGW as real and dangerous.
The next step: stop Algore and his followers.

Your just wrong on this. Theory is not truth until it becomes fact. AGW is impossible to test and prove as is evolution. There are so many camps on evolution and if you really listen to what each is saying, they can disagree with one another. It's a joke because it's not provable. They live in fantasy land and make stuff up as they go along. But now that I know where you stand on all this, I guess I'm not surprised at all you buy this crap. Are you going to benefit financially from this?

If my memory serves me correctly, the scientist who came up with the theory only did a flyover in a helicopter when he noticed the dead bears and concluded they'd drowned from AGW. The nuts that are now promoting Global Warming were promoting Global Cooling back in the 70's, the consensus of scientist predicted that glaciers would advancing down to the Dakotas by the year 2000. Global warming has been happening for the past 700 years since the Little Ice Age ended, and we still have about 5-7 degrees of warming to fully recover from it.
