example people vote a Senator in, the Senator votes what the people want, the people don't vote for the "Law" the Senator does now sometimes he doesn't vote on what his people want which means most of the time he is voted out.
or a better example. the USA has no popular Vote. which is very Democratic, instead,it has electoras, which isn't really Democratic.

It has nothing to do with voting left or right or even center!
