Alright theres a little more u can add to your commandline but its mainly going to come down to how to how far you can overclock without ur GPU overheating, thats the main thing that is going to cause the stuttering, what are your specs? Also u should try the edited shaders from RealityIV makes the game look a lot better and runs a lil faster

@DarkStar1O9 i dontt play this anymore but thanx anyway, when gpu overclockes too much it just shuts down in middle of games (from my experience) but after reset its working again

@oleg7g Yea we have the same specs definitely needs a moderate overclock to run smooth, main thing you want to do is check your GPU temps and make sure its not overheating (+100C) and if you can keep those temps down it'll run fine. I suggest thermal grease and a cooling pad, i'm getting my GPU heatsink fixed this week so I should be able to run a higher overclock without my card throttling like before, I'll post up a new vid once its fixed. (btw try the new superman mod its awesome)

@safwan19 yes i had MB failure or GPU burn twice - first time after year i bought it and once again about a year after lucky me both times it was on warranty they replaced my MB no problems... i got used to backup my data often knowing everyday this laptop might die// i always overclock the cpu and the gpu so maybe it helped the failure but others overclocking other laptops with no problems so i donno...

@davemirra145 that means your graphics card does not support shader model 3.0, which ur gpu probably has 2.0. I'm pretty sure theirs a way to work around but when i had my old x850xt it had shader model 2.0 and i couldnt play ne games that required 3.0. Hope this sheds a little light

this video is without overclocking, i did  overclocking with rivatuner (driver v158) but now the new driver 196.34 works great its faster without overclocking than 158 overclocked

you did not say how much ram you have... if you have 2GB AND you overclock your gpu it might be playable on very low settings, if you have less than 2GB don't even try...

@oleg7g sorry man, i did this, deleted settings and cmd line, entered the game turned off and set to 1 everythng i could including 800x600 res...then i got in and ssaved it then exit, next created cmdline,without WnH, entered game, everthing in settings was the way i leaved it...i got in anyways and saved game, then i did command line like in the instructions...it changes height but width stays because i cant read what the actual menu says, am i doing something wrong?

Get into game folder and make new notepad file with name "commandline". Open it and put into that:

" -nomemrestrict -availablevidmem 2.0 -norestrictions -percentvidmem 100". Before "-nomemrestrict" have to do SPACE!

Finally save the changes.

Now it will read from you RAM memory

erm i am using the same com as you but only in XP sp3 the specs is the same and after i delete the settings. i create a commandline.txt in de gta file do i need to change any settings ? and i am using the 1.0.4 version. the game is lagging badly

after settings deleted they set to default,

you need to go to settings in game and set all to lowest, this will also change resolution to 800x600, exit game and set in commandline.txt -width 512 -height 320, now it should be lowest settings + lower than default resolution this is only way it runs smooth.

HI there, i was impress by your system supports GTA IV and there is no texture missing.

My laptop is HP DV2715tx with 2.2GHz and also 8400m GS DDR3 128MB, but when i play the GTA IV, there is no lag at all, runs smoothly but when i drive a car fast, the texture gets missing, its like im floating in the air.

Is there any thing i can do? im using ForceWare 185.85 which is the Laptop driver from Nvidia.

anyways, i have the toshiba p300-12d series and running GTA 4 very well without lag on medium even high settings.

But the problem is my laptop is getting so warm of the game that is going to lag and ofcourse the screenlag. im suggest to buy a great gaming notebook cooler.
