  • Fell in love with David Bowie at age 11 and I still love him. 39 years ago

  • This is indisputably one of the greatest pieces of music produced by any person on Earth, or whatever planet Bowie's from, for that matter, but if you've only heard it here with this particular version you're doing yourself a great disservice because it distorts like a sonofabitch..all that gorgeous piano and Mick Ronson's tasteful guitar is wasted due to the lack of fidelity...there are a couple of other uploads I've checked out that are a little better, but buying the CD or MP3 is recommended.

  • Eat your heart out Toby Keith...

  • encore une fois pour tout le monde

  • I'm in love.

How have I lived 14 years without knowing of this.. ridiculous.

  • @AnnaTheDrooganLeader ...if you are only 14, you're about the same age I was when I first heard it, which was when it was first released (about 37 yrs. ago), and I love it more and more every time I hear it...find a source with better sound quality if you want to appreciate it's full beauty, though...

  • what is the beginning from? I know some of it's from Ziggy Stardust the movie, but what about the other stuff?

  • my song ....

  • David Bowie brought me here

  • God I hate that Runaways movie.

  • When my friends said they never heard of Bowie....I cried

  • Looks like Linda McCartney to me.

  • He looks like a woman in this video...

  • That scene with David throwing his head back, eyes rolling back. Pure hotness. This is also one of my favourite songs of his, sensual and seductive with the twinkle of the piano and the strumming of the guitar.

  • Timeless............

    pure class

still sends shivers down my spine

    love

    x

  • God, I looove that piano intro......beautiful, beautiful song. Bowie doesn't get enough credit for his musicality; he has created some truly brilliant compositions and collaborations.

  • GOD BLESS YOU BOWIE! xxxxxxxxxxx

  • this is so beautiful music. god bless his talent

  • @esta49 God bless Mike Garson's piano playing, too.

  • Great retro stuff!

  • Amanda Lear, the famous lover of Bowie, Bryan Ferry and muse of Salvador Dali looks fabulous here, in the clip from 'Sorrow'. Her latest cd is Brief Encounters Reloaded, with remixes by Boy George. Dali supposedly payed for her transgender reassignment in Morocco in the early 60's. I adore this song, what a great compilation of images.

  • Absolutely epic

  • The most precious things in life come in very limited quantities.

I am so glad that I have been able to see David live so many times, and I am privileged to have been able to listen to his work for 40 years.

I only hope he will return to enchant us one more time, but maybe that's just greedy !

Thanks for this video, and thanks David !

  • one question that no body thought or ever answered!

why David bowie has never sang this song live!

    so? there is no answer!

  • Bowie had a little down period around Let's Dance. And this is what people remember him for.

  • i love this song

  • Happy birthday bowie mwwa

  • I have recently discovered this song and I think that it is so beautiful and deep… Bowie is a world famous genius but some of his best songs (the early ones) are less remembered than other songs such as Let’s Dance and Dancing in the Street. For me; .The songs from Man who sold the world, hunky dory, ziggy, Aladdin and diamond dogs albums are the best!!!

  • Bowie = My God

  • @rickman AMEN brother

  • Troppo bella questa canzone...ti amo David, sei l'uomo più bello del mondo...ti sposerei stasera...anche in pigiama!!!!!

  • WHAT A TRACK!!!!!!

  • hes such a beautiful man!!!!! <3

  • Too perfect!grate work,i enjoy a lot this song and this video!i love Bowie"s look in the 70"'s.beautiful as a magic angel!

  • ...and skulldini is right about the keyboardist. not only makes this song but the whole aladdin sane album!

    A lad insane!

  • Comment removed

  • bowie rocks... but the creator of this video made an excellent work!! super!

  • Excellent tune ! Mike Garson ( the keyboardist ) really is a great and underrated musical collaborator. He got over-shadowed by Mick Ronson ( not suprisingly of course, since, in rock music, keyboardists do not get he same kinde of recognition and addulation that guitar players do ), but his contribution to Bowie's music was just as crucial and superb, I think. And he MAKES this song !

  • @Skulldini OH, I so agree wiyh you....Piano to die for.....heavenly...

  • I love you, David! I do, I do, I do! Come and caress my soul any day! Mmmhmm!

  • you've really captured some of the best eye contacts and grins that I've seen by la Bowie. great job!!!!

  • He sounds so passionate about this song

  • ..."touch the fullness of her breast..feel the love of her caress"

    aaah david...

    fucking LEGEND!!!!!!

  • this song, is sooo goood. <3

ahaha it's perfect. not his best though i don't think.

  • somewhere there is justice, somewhere.

  • Fabulous upload !! *****

  • eisai theos!!!

  • No no no the boys all love "my Sparkle"

-he's a bit mysogonist about women wanting to be like the song. I'm just hoping for no "ruined years."

  • Why is saying "I'm like Lady Grinning Soul" insulting myself, as well unusal for me.

  • Absolutely timeless as are every single record he has ever made...the greatest individual music artist the UK has ever produced and far ahead of anyone else as regards individuality, innovation, influence, intrigue, and inspiration !! Long live Ziggy Stardust !!

  • wow. amazing job on the video. lovely bowie song. anyone know who this song was written about?

  • This song was written about Ava Cherry. She drove a beatle car... and she was the Bowie´s lover from the period 73-75. She sang chorus in the albums "Aladdin Sane" and "Young Americans" and in the Diamond Dogs Tour. Bowie

  • o.k cool thanks! damn this must have pissed Angie off! I mean, he doesn't wright many love songs does he? And then he does one and it's not even about the woman he's married to! Mind you, apparently the two of them were both having several affairs during their marriage.

But back to the point, I think he may have actually loved Ava Cherry.

  • Bowie wrote "A Letter To Herminione" in the album "Space Oddity" dedicated to Hermione Farthingale; "The Pretiest Star" from "Aladdin Sane" to Angie, and "Golden Years" from "Station To Station" is for Angie too. He has many other love songs... By other hand, Iman (his wife) has some physical similarities with Ava Cherry...

  • well I knew he'd written a few, that's still not many though. And yes I suppose she is somewhat similar to Ava Cherry.

  • It was written about the androgynous living end in all of us, if we dare recognise her.

  • I loved Bowie before he went back into the closet.

  • This was the first Bowie song I ever heard (besides the slow bowie on heroes and low that I listened to as a baby to fall asleep to every night), and it's probably the best. It kicks butt.

  • Thanks for this little wonder!

  • Bowie's greatest musical period.

  • IT COMES IN THIS ORDER -

    BOWIE

    Boy George

    Miss Guy.

    end of story.

  • It's a far cry from "Cracked Actor" on the same album but a very good song that adds to the diversity of his BEST album "Aladdin Sane".

  • Mike Garson on piano. This song is so haunting and so awesome it will always be one of Bowie's best.

  • ahhh shivers down my spine!

  • Amazing ina word!

  • I just love the piano on this song!

  • The song is a masterpiece!

  • this song always sounds like a James Bond theme to me. I picture the sillouhette chicks shooting guns.

  • sorry HQ button :s

  • beautiful song.. to bad the equalizer is cranked up so much that it is ruined.

  • Thanks for sharing this lovely song! 5/5 It is one of my favourites!

  • Truly irresistible, and definitely one of a kind. Much copied, but never trumped, no one even comes close to the sheer originality of the man.

  • great edit touching soul making cry.
