I'm not really sure but I believe Azam Khan's former drummer, who gave Ruposhi drumming lessons, wrote a few lines of this song initially some 20+ years ago and later together finished writing the entire song. I may be wrong thou!

if i am not mistaken it's almost 80% rip-off of Freddie Aguilar's 'About father'. In fact, a band called Winds ripped it off long ago (1990) with their song 'Pothey pothey ghurechhi'. Shame on Shafeen or Dr Nusrat, whoever she is

You play well for an amateur violinist but you need to know that the pofessional world is much more different so many musicians make adjustments. I'm not sure if it's just the prejudice part of you talking, however, not liking her music is one thing but to claim that the most popular violinist of any country does not know how to violin is simply outrageous.

@sumanto27 - thanks, already committed the grave crime of getting her solo cd. at some pt in time, i thought i was listening to the first graders trying out violin lessons! i don't play the instrument myself, but having listened to yehudi menuhin just a little bit (or vanessa mae, for that matter), can give you some sorta idea as to how violin and similar bowed instruments ought to be played! so sad.

@sumanto27 agreed that yehudi menuhin is classical, but how is vanessa mae, or yo yo mama western classical music? pls listen to all the pop violinists out there (east or west is immaterial) who are way better than her. In our country alone, there are at least a dozen session violinists (think BTV underpaid musicians) including the one who appeared with Ayub Bachchu on his unplugged album. And I presume u know L Subramaniam. Try his duet with jean luc ponty

Or you'd be hearing Madonna singing Robindra Shangeet LOL. I have personal relations with some of those so-called BTV underpaid musicians and I keep telling them that they need to go take some crash courses in India for a year to get up-to-date but they won't listen mostly cause they do not meet the pre-requisites set for those courses ;)

I think she is doing what's needed to make a decent living out of music. I don't really know how many bangalis are really there that would pay to listen to some violin only.. maybe a few but won't be enough to put Bhat on her table.

Dude, you don't even know who manam is do you? Manam is a popular music director, very talented but there's no Manam in this song. The person name Shafin in this song is a popular rock singer (soloist as well as BD's top Band member) and also a good bass guitarist. Shafin is a totally different person than manam. Just because they play in the same band they are not all the same person ;-)

She did not post the vid herself, she does not monitor this chanel herself, I believe has never even seen this so asking her the question directly.. Now, I guess you have never gone to university? If you did you'd know any instructor with Phd. uses Dr. as prefix to their names. Doctor, as a prefix — abbreviated "Dr"— its primary designation and legal entitlement is a person who has obtained a doctorate, which is the highest rank of academic degree awardable. Nothing tacky.. quite the opposite.

Funny you ask--I am currently completing a master's degree in environmental science, and hopefully starting a PhD next fall. So I know what these titles imply. I am also an amateur guitarist. To clarify my earlier post: I do not intend to put MSc (my soon te be title) if I were to perform music. It's just out of place and ultimately irrelevant for a performer. So yes, I find it tacky. And it doesn't matter if she monitors this channel. Cheers from Canada.

When I got my MSc I never used it as a prefix cause obviously it's not a prefix and not such an honor since every Joe has a MSc too. When I got my doc I ofcourse started using that.. big diff. It's very relevant for her to use it since she has a doctorate in MUSIC which in your case you have MSc in uhmm.. NOT Music!

Ok, so I made a mistake of asking directly... get over it.

I will be more direct this time: unless it's within the academic realm, I find that only complexed and/or insecure individuals place unecessary emphasis on titles. Whether it's a PhD in music or environmental science. I expect modesty from artists in particular, as they're often a role model. Nothing worse than a cocky artist, although I certainly don't suggest this person is. I am just elaborating my own view.

Well that definitely is your own view or no doctorate would ever use the title they earned to show modesty hehe. However, despite her fans'/well-wishers' repeated request Ruposhi still doesn't use her title when performing in real life. I personally believe it's important to use the title so ppl don't automatically take her as a highschool dropout just cos most musicians are so. In my case make immigration officers hesitate to assume I'm just gonna overstay my visa whenever I visit the west lol.
