Reminds me of how people buy vitamins because they know that food from a store has little nutritional value due to factory farming methods. And Like Jacque says about water, its only because of the monetary system's profit motive that we will soon be short of fresh water since most of it is being polluted with frac-fluids and so on. Of course we have the technology to make lots of drinking water, but the monetary system keeps us from taking action.
