Rush Limbaugh is a globaloneyist, just as much as: Clinton, Kenyan Obama, Carter & L.B.J. They all take their marching orders from their elitist overlords.
Hahahah Obama is running left? And he's partisan? If Obama was partisan he'd tell the republicans to shut the fuck up and he'd pass any bill he wanted through reconciliation like Bush did every time.
The problem with Obama is that he's a pushover who won't stop trying to be bipartisan. And to what avail? No matter how hard Obama tries to be bipartisan Fox will keep spewing their propaganda bullshit about him.
Republicans hardly followed a bipartisan plan when they were the majority. They didn't allow any dems on committees, tried to pass bills behind dems backs and threatened the nuclear option. Now that Dems are the majority Repubs have filibustered more than any time in history. Their tax cuts didn't improve our economy. Now they're screaming at Obama who bends over backward trying to please them. They only get away with this because people watch FOX news and liars like Limbaugh.
True to a point......obama PROMISED not to do the very things he is doing! He promised to work across party lines, he promised politics asusal would not be in his administration! What fifibuster have the reps done? Inform me please.
Why would the President of the United States single out Rush Limbaugh? Because Rush represents a huge threat to Obama's ability to tend to his sheepy flock of morons. Why else would the President single out a private citizen?
Obama has accomplished absolutely nothing. All he has done is trash our country on French soil and cozy up with dictators. The dark clouds of socialism are swirling once again. We need a Reagan/Thatcher who speaks with substance, not empty rhetoric.
deedee2244, a perfect example of 100% party loyalty above all logic and reason. The tactic of intimidation is what this party has become the party of. Obama's so smart. Obama's a lawyer. He's the messiah, conservatism is dead, praise his name. They use this tactic because they're without any alternative. To say Obama is going to save us is to completely ignore what's going on, ignore what liberalism has done to this country, and ignore what the world is ACTUALLY saying!
Are you SURE the world agrees?? Hahaha. Check out Obama's approval ratings. They're dropping. Because his whole career is based on blaming Bush. Pretty soon, he's gonna fall flat on his marxist face.
Obama doesnt want to adjust the tax code to normal... he wants the "weathy" to pay for all the people who dont actually pay taxes. And i hope Obama fails too.
Absolutely right. Under Bush the number of people who pay no income taxes whatsoever went from 34% to 38%. Under Obama that number is project to go close to 50%.
What is going to happen once 50% of the country pays no taxes? They're going raise taxes even more because the minority won't be able to stop it. That's called spreading the wealth around.
@imrandymossbaby Here is a scary thought for you. I learned this in the middle 90s while working with a certified genius at Ft Monmouth New Jersey. One morning at coffee he said "90% of the world's people are unnecessary".Shocked, I asked him to explain. He said "10$ of the world's people can provide 100$ of everyone's needs for goods and services."
He didn't answer when I asked "what are the rest of the world's people going to DO without work?"
@imrandymossbaby Rich do not pay taxes look at your congress they do not pay an they stay out of jail an are still in office are people that dumb like these billionaires giving there money away funny they give al this money away but there wealth does not go down it is growing just another con if they wanted to help they would pay there people better
Rush fans listen but don't think. He says that Obama somehow wants to "shrink individual liberties". Where on earth does he get that? Can he name one example? No.
Well, when you are a big fat dumbass you tend to say asinine things.
#1 Obama wants to adjust the tax code back to normal, sensible levels. That is not "redistribution of wealth". That term is one that neocons use but that does not honestly apply.
#2, even if it did, which it doesn't, it has to do with do with INDIVIDUAL LIBERTIES (read those words again).....how?
Do you know what "individual liberties" are? Of course you don't. Limbaugh equates corporations and millionaires with "individual liberties" and you nod like a dummy.
Rush IS the GOP leader - he issues the marching orders, and the Pubbies follow them to the letter. If they dare speak out against Rush, their phone lines get jammed and their email in-boxes get overflowed with death threats from Dittoheads and FReepers, and they come crawling to Rush, to lick his boots and kiss his ass on nationwide radio!
Rush: JUMP!
Repubs: HOW HIGH?
Good luck distancing yourselves from 11% approval Limbaugh, before you have to run for reelection in 2010...
No, no, no. By all means Republicans SHOULD follow Rush - all the way off that cliff! And now, with Darth Cheney sucking up all the oxygen, they couldn't get the media - the REAL media, not Fox - to pay attention, if they DID come up with something other than high-end tax cuts and more wars!
By all means, just keep doing what you're doing. 21% isn't low enough, yet? ;o)
Yea i guess you right alexfandrich everybody that thinks Rush Limbaugh is Unpatriotic, pill popping, ignorant, biggot asshole is wrong but you . IF YOU CAN'T SEE THAT RUSH SAYS DUMBASS EXTEMIST THINGS JUST TO PISS PEOPLE OFF TO GET RATINGS then your the stupid one....thats what SHOCK JOCKS do!! Hes already RICH he doesn't give a dam if America succends or fail.
Somebody needs to shut Rush Limbaugh up. Shut all these critics of Obama up. Anybody who criticizes Obama should be thrown into jail. Obama = president for life.
LOL yeah because its not like EVERYONE has the right to speak freely. whenever Obama does something good for our country thn i'll support him, but as for now i'll keep criticizing Obama.
Why would the President call out Rush Limbaugh? Hmm. Maybe because he's a lying sack of shit who feeds off the ignorance of the average person like a pig at a trough.
obama is a douchebag and his stimulus bill is nothing but a way to steal more from our already broke country....we all said obama would do exactly what he is doing...stealing from the hard working to give to the welfare recipient.
Republicans have always said government doesn't work, and now that they'd been in charge 8 years they made it happen! Regulatory agencies protecting industries they are suppose to protect us from. Record deficits, corporate welfare, blocking re-regulation leading to today's credit meltdown, destroying civil liberties, etc. Sorry, but time to fix the mess. The fiscal situation improves under Democrats and deteriorates under Republicans.
The last two years the Republicans set a record for the filibuster. They had control. But hey, under Carter the deficit did go from 65 billion to 85 billion but under Reagan, he set a new US record at 100 billion! At the end of his term it was over 200 billion! After Bush senior took it to 400, it took that mad spender Clinton to reduce it to to almost zero. Another Bush in the White House sent it to almost 600 billion. Yes, it's Democrats who are always the big spenders.
Actually the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act contributed more to the meltdown. Also, Greenspan kept interest rates artificially low after the dot-com bust, which the Bush admin could have done something about; these low interest rates created widespread housing speculation causing people to refinance or get second mortgages in effort to try and make money off the false appreciation in home equity. You need to listen to Rush and Hannity a little less and do some some reading.
So the massive increase in derivitization of mortgage-backed securities had nothing to do with the meltdown? Please explain. Yes Clinton signed it, to his discredit. And you never addressed my Greenspan point. Where was Bush when the Fed was inflating the housing bubble?
Gramm-Leach-Bliley did not create securitization and collateralized debt obligations. It did not change the rules for banks leverage ratios. If anything, it mitigated some risks by allowing financial companies to diversify their businesses, and it is the most diversified firms that are best weathering the storm.
Reagan & Bush put in Debt and Clinton got us out of it SURPLUS! OUT OF DEBT! Then Bush JR Reagan ECONOMICS AND WAR FOR 6 YEARS!
Reagan is not GOD! Neither is Obama but he is trying to get us out of debt! Give him a chance. Corporations had their chance they just shipped all jobs over seas and added to unemployment.
Clinton instated the highest taxes in history and what did he do to create jobs? He burdened the employers with even more costs, therefore growth was stalled. Reagan is not God, you're right, but he's as close as any president has gotten. And pardon me for refusing to believe that spending trillions of non-existent currency is getting us out of debt. And Obama thinks no one will think anything of a "financial summit" only days after the single biggest expenditure in the history of the world?!
Clinton did get this country out of debt and it was great time in America.Period!Taxes are just a necessary evil we pay them we hate em we don't pay them were screwed. But everyone has to pay their fair share! Obama was not only an economic crisis but 2wars and repairing our damaged reputation across the world.
Rush is wishing the country to fail if he wants Obama to fail! He has to stop being so damn selfish!
Clinton had time to take advantage of a good economy by raising taxes on everyone, there's your surplus. Look where we are now, now that the chips have fallen. Of course, bad mortgage loans and war have taken their toll, too, we can't rule those out. Taxes are a necessary evil, as long as what they go to are wanted and needed by most of the population. And the top 10% of tax payers in the US pay over 70% of total taxes. That's fair share? And I don't care about our "reputation." Don't matter.
You do realize that Congress has a say in things right? That's who ACTUALLY passes laws. Welfare reform and NAFTA are bashed by liberals, but did more to help employment and the economy than anything else. And those were passed during the Clinton years...by Republicans.
Also, I'm not sure what "fair share" means. But I don't think it should mean the top 10% paying 75% of the taxes in this country. Fair would mean a flat tax or something of that sort.
For being "bashed by liberals," the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act of 1996 (aka the Welfare Reform Act), received a lot of liberal votes. It was 78 - 21 in the Senate and 328 - 101 in the House. I know Republicans were in power then, but they weren't THAT in power.
By "bashed by liberals" I mean that Obama repeatedly spoke out against it in the IL Senate (I live there and heard him myself) and the fact that CLINTON VETOED IT TWICE. You really need to look these things up.
Also, when the "top 10 percent" also controls more than 85 percent of the wealth in this country but only pays 75 percent of the taxes, I think that's disproportionate as well. I also think it's disproportionate that the average CEO makes more than 262 times what the average worker in his company makes.
That's not even close to correct. If it was, that means that if we had a flat tax, the wealthy would pay 85% of the taxes. Since we have a progressive income tax, and they pay 75%, we know that that's incorrect. But I digress...
The "fairest" tax would be a flat tax. Where everybody pays a percentage of their income. This would encourage people to get richer, as well as tax everybody so that everybody is paying at least SOME taxes.
"Fair" is a subjective term, so it's not exactly applicable here. And prevailing economic theory (see e.g.: Smith's "The Wealth of Nations") says that the wealthy should pay a higher *percentage* in taxes than the lower and middle classes, because a much lower percentage of their income is spent on 'necessaries.' Additionally, the rich have more to lose if the government is undermined and thus have a higher vested interest in upholding the stability of the presiding government.
@g7x3: what debt is obama trying to get us out of? he and congress have been spending money like drunken sailors (far worse than bush jr), within these past 2 months (porkulus bill 1 and omnibus bill w/earmarks) with the possibility of porkulus bill 2 on the horizon. so don't tell us obama's trying to get us out of debt when he's doing more to keep us in it.
l Not spending money made the depression Great! You must SPEND NO CHOICE!! conservatives who deregulated the banks, let the corporations run wild have no right to critize anyone trying clean up after their incompetence
I guess you are black you are something they are trying to limit!!!!!!!!!!
@gzx3: first of all it was the dems who said fannie mae/freddiemac were sound. the dems were the ones who forced banks to give loans to people with bad credit and who couldn't afford to pay them back. (look for the clips) who's trying to "limit" me? ronald reagan was an excellent president. we had job growth, he killed the carter recession, we had a strong military and he kept government in check. no, i'm not apart of the christian right and i will love to hate libs. i will have a nice day, thx.
Who was the original author Phil Gramm who deregulated the banks. Who let the banks and corporations run wild Republicans I guess conservatives think it's okay to put people out of work and let them loose their homes so they can have more money. Reagan was horrible he put us further in debt, and let Oliver North go to jail for him. Keep hating liberals were not the ones who put the country in debt CONSERVATIVES DID but all of you are so incompetent to admit it. BUSH just made Clinton much better
The deregulation of the financial institution was not the problem.
The 'deregulation' of the Gramm bill allowed financial institutions to cross over into other financial businesses. Banks could now sell insurance etc.etc. The bill allowed for more competition in financial services. If that's all the bill did, there wouldn't be a problem.
The problem with the Gramm bill was the expansion of the Community Reinvestment Act into it. Bill Clinton wanted that in the bill.
Gramm was also the chairman of Treasury of Enron so he is just used to stealing peoples money. Notice the deregulation bill was snuck in during the Lewinsky scandal when it could not be fought. But all of the stealing after 2000 during Bushes first term Surplus to Deficit
The CRA compelled lenders to make loans available to people who normally wouldn't qualify. This was the starting of the toxic mortgages by private lenders.
It had already been happening at the GSEs (Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac) and the GSEs were reporting huge profits (the books were being cooked). The GSEs were already making loans available due to legislation enacted by Clinton in 1992.
This all compelled the private lenders to get deeper in the game.
Where the actual regulations were needed - at Fannie & Freddie - attempts to do this were blocked in committee by the Democrats in 2004.
Without the intervention of the vote-whoring politicians in the first place, the housing bubble may not happen. If it does happen, it is much smaller. The structural integrity of the banking system is not cracked.
It is not cracked it 's gorged ! Banks must be regulated they are too greedy. We may be on different sides of politics but this should never happen again!!!!!
Here is joke They are so greedy they would jump in someone's head and steal their dreams!
For this to never happen again people like you need to recognize that the problem is the vote-whoring politicians and their idiotic socialistic policies, not a bunch of people collecting what was agreed to at AIG.
Until you recognize that the problem is cocksuckers like Barney Frank and Ted Kennedy, we're all fucked. Government is not the solution, government is the problem.
Give it up your government needs check in balances Ronald Reagan has come and gone. This litlte idea of small government is gone how many branches of government did Chenney belong to? Just don't go hunting with him
Laughing at shit like that is sick, even worse if it's to push your political beliefs.
Regardless if people dieing is funny to you or not, I highly doubt you would allow yourself to be shot if you had a choice between "them or me". It's easy to be a hero and be selfless away from danger. Fact is I doubt you would know what to do if you were shot in the woods by the VP or if you were a politician and you got in a car crash. Now push your beliefs further and tell me what you wouldn't do.
Another thing to Carter's recession was also due to the Vietnam war which your beloved Ronald Reagan said was not a real war. The country was in debt and their was unemployment as well something they never tell you. This Reagan Economics must stop the stockmarket failed in1987. Bush Sr. put us in further debt. But let's end on a positive note stem cell research is great oppurtunity sponsored by Nancy Reagan because no one should ever pass away like Ronnie did ALHTIMERS Disease is horrible.
The latest CBS News poll asked people what is the best way to end the recession: 59% said tax cuts for businesses, only 22% said more government spending.
BTW, out of the 864 people polled, only 233 were Republicans. That shows there is bi-partisan support for the tax cuts Rush is talking about , and bi-partisan opposition to the spending Obama wants.
1 trillion ---- 1 Million for every non-muslim American. It's time for the taxpayers who foot the bill to get rich, not just the lawmakers. Screw the honeybees and the fish, we want our millions.
200 Million ---- To finish the Mexican US border fence
300 Million ---- To depart illegals and their children
The American people could sure stimulate the economy with this type of money.
This stimulus is an ominous sign that Obambi will be a 1 TERM EPIC FAIL and will lose to Sarah Palin in 2012. This country does not need a stimulus and more government spending to help the global economy. No, the world needs Palinomics. Palinomics will save the world economy, greater than Reaganomics and Clintonomics. Palinomics is blessed with the divine power of GOD HERSELF for Palin is GOD's CHOSEN ONE, GOD INCARNATE and the LIVING EMBODIMENT OF GOD HERSELF!
Only a dumb ass would NOT be able to tell that Obama is running scared because he might not make his pay off to his crooks if his stimulus bill is not passed. Obama is trying to scare the Senate into passing the stimulus bill because he is is running scared from the crooks that helped get him elected. If the stimulus bill doesn't pass Obama's crisis will be a catastrophe because he won't be able to pay off crooks like Acorn & the other crooks he owes favors to. Sorry, Obama, "You play, you pay!"
If the President wants to spend $1.3 trillion dollars - this better work. Putting our country in the hole for that kind of money is serious business. After spending this much money, if we're still in a deep recession, the "George Bush" excuse just isn't going to cut it.
The spending will never work. Keynesian economics does not work. It didn't work in the 1930's or any other time it has been tried.
Even if it did, much of the spending is for 2-3 years down the road. Oddly enough, there are congressional elections in 2010 and Obama's first term ends in 2012. Gee, if this such an emergency, why are they spending money then?
the problem here folks, both Repubs and Dems, is when the US people started tolerating the US Government to operate outside of the confines of the US constitution. This is why only the Libertarians and Libertarian thinking people can solve this issue.
Yes Bush is at Fault also 1000you2b001, "BUT" Obama "let" Nancy Pelosi create this "lib. package" and he is NOT doing ANYTHING to stop her!! Obama is hurting himself!!
Obama is the one that campaigned -- no pork, no lobbyst's, no drama!! and now it is all backfiring on him.
This is not good only 3 weeks in.
American people are finding out that he complained about the last 8 yrs. but, he is Bush on steriods!!
Some little dog asses like to go around and mark negatives on comments - like I said, Rush's fans tell everybody else to shut up and in the case of this video, my comments have been censored. FU assholes, I don't get mad, I get even!
They can vote on my comments but they should NOT be allowed to blot out my comments, which I can't even see now. I'm making as many comments that are necessary to fight this new War on Stupidity.
They can't "blot out" your comments. Your comments have a score. If you set your page to only show comments with scores of -5 or better, you won't see your comment, but the comment is still there. If you are interested in reading comments that other people think are terrible, all you need to do is change your settings to "all comments" or "poor comments (-10 or better). Anyone can.
It's not censorship, they're expressing their opinion. I don't think complaining about it will help.
Thanks for the tip. I'm not one for censoring myself, that's for sure. So if my settings indeed limit my capability to see my own comments, I can assure you I will change it to "all comments." I am NOT one to restrict free speech or even what may be considered irresponsible speech.
have said they will fix all the mistakes Bush has made.
Yet The Hater Dem's have held the House $ Senete for 2 years now, They Voted for the War & Dicksmoker "Barrney" is the reason the Housing is a mess yoyo!
Stupid ass people like have the facts right in front of them,... BUT still want to balme Bush! ha ha ha !
I don't think the Dems are perfect and by no means do I think the Lizards are any better or smarter. We know the GOP was the major block to any Democratic mandate or progress as the result of the 2006 elections
Why am I not surprised that all we hear is the republican side of the argument on Fox. If rush is so concerned about Americans why doesn't he do something instead of talking shit. I do think people need to be educated on what's going on, instead of listening to Rush promote republican propaganda. He has his own agenda. Getting listeners for republicans (of course they pay him) and making money, at the expense of narrow and simple minded people that will believe him and not fact check.
If you want Obama worship, tune in Olbermann and MSNBC.
You might want to work on your own education. Start with the Community Reinvestment Act (1977). This legislation and some others helped start the mortgage bubble. It was the collapse of Fannie/Freddie that started this whole mess. Democrat fingerprints are all over it.
True Fanni Mae & Freddie Mack was the underwriters, but they were not the ones going out and signing the loans..the fact is builders, realtors, bankd and mortgage broker made money too!!! There are alot of people to blame and greed was a major party of it.
Greed has always existed, it always will. Human nature is what it is.
Without the vote-whoring politicians intervening with legislation in the mortgage market, there is not such a big bubble. Without the vote-whores using Fannie/Freddie as a socialist political playpen. to buy votes, the housing and market mortgage markets operate properly in a free market. Without Fannie/Freddie's collapse there is no crisis in the banking system.
It was primarily the Democrats going back to the CRA and before that FDR and the creation of the GSEs.
Bush warned of the problem in 2001 and the Republicans in 2004. The Democrats in the financial service committee blocked regulatory reforms. There are videos of Barney Frank, Maxine Waters and others from 2004, lambasting the Republicans for daring to suggest the need for regulations on the GSEs. There are c-span vids on youtube
That's why the fear is dragging on as it is. Fannie/Freddie had to be saved - what the Republicans warned of happened. There was no option.
Compounding all the mistakes before, the bailout of AIG was the next one. The other financial institutions had a vested self-interest in the system. Had the government , led by the Democrat idiots in congress (with Bush) stayed the fuck out - the other's would have moved in to prop up AIG. They would have had to.
When the gov't moved in, the financial sector moved back - there's no use getting involved if the gov't is going to contain the problem. They couldn't see what the result of that would be.
The problem was this - gov't involvement instilled the fear and started the panic. The dam was breached.
Remember who most wanted the first bailout - it was Reid/Pelosi/Barney Frank et al. Bush didn't have much choice - a big economic correction was going to hurt McCain more than Obama.
Why are the Democrats giving all this money to the companies? If they really wanted to help people and prevent another depression, they would simply ensure that the social programs in place would be able to handle the increased demands. Eventually the recession would ease and things would get moving again. Tax cuts would stimulate the economy. None of that would cost what this pork bill is going to cost.
Instead they are planning corporate welfare on an unimaginable scale.
The Democrats, who claim to care about the 'little guy' are giving tons of money to the people they claim are the problem - the capitalists.
Why not simply maintain the social safety net and let the free market correct itself. Companies and jobs will be lost in the short term. The weak ones die.
In time new economic activity occurs, new companies form and new jobs are born. The history of the country proves this. Everything goes in cycles. Why not let the cycle simply do its thing?
The answer is this: The Democrats and Obama, who boldly claimed to want to end the 'politics of fear' actually have no such intention. Obama is promising the sky will fall if he doesn't get his bill immediately. Why?
The truth is this: The party largely responsible for the meltdown don't want people to know what really happened. They want to use the situation to ram every socialist idea through while people are scared shitless. They don't want people thinking.
Another dirty little secret is this - The stimulus bill will not work. The new deal didn't end the depression, it prolonged it. Japan tried to pull itself out of recession that way and spent the 1990's in a prolonged recession.
What is the answer - get the fucking government out of the way. Cut taxes now and promise to cut more. Ensure the social safety net is in place. Let the free markets and free people work through the tough times and come out the other side.
Unfortunately, the people in power want people to be fearful and rely on the government to 'fix' things and make everyone feel secure. Their electoral success depends on that.
If they did what I said, they wouldn't be Democrats. They would be the guys (some Republicans anyway) that tried to stop it.
Socialist thinking created the mess. You can not solve a problem with the thinking that created it.
The US economy will recover from this. Obama and the Demcrats will take any credit. Their actions will actually have very little to do with the recovery. The private sector will pull the economy out and spearhead the recovery.
Obama and the congress actions will do something else.
The end result of the Obama years will be a US economy that is more socialized, that is, more of the economy will be government influenced and run. The private sector will be smaller.
When the next financial crisis comes, the massive public debt combined with the smaller private sector will not be as able to pull the US out of recession. It might still do it, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
With financial collapse will come the need for the government to prop up and take over more and more of what is left. The United States will become socialist. The founders would not recognize it, nor approve of it. You may not recognize the country 20 years from now. The great experiment will have failed.
this whole talk of bipartisanship is silly. not a single republican voted for the stimulus package. that seems a bit strange to me. feels like it was done out of spite but i could be wrong. obama should stop trying to be a bipartisan and just go ahead without the republicans cuz obviously they want nothing to do with him.
Obama wants the Republicans signed on so when this massive pork bill fails, the Republicans will get blamed as well. Obama can't pin this march to socialism on Bush.
Here's the problem u can't cut taxes and fight 2 wars at the same time...that is just 1 big reason why we are in this mess another reason is NAFTA..Bill Clinton created it and Bush supported it..Obama says he is going look at it, but it has to go!!! It lets companies outsource manufacturing jobs that could put American citizens to work and food on the table.
Ain't nobody talking about cutting taxes, we all should understand that the federal budget needs to be balanceds.
However, for congress to allow spending to get out of control (in mostly pork barrel and pet projects) is way too dangerous for a democracy If the generation that passed the 16th amendment could see the type of generations we are, too busy watching TV, they'd take it back, especially seeing how many people heard Obama's absurd inaugural speech and thouth nothing bad about it.
but I hope you understand what you are talking about and reject Nafta for the right reasons.
If you are a protectionist, then you know nothing about basic economics, since trade liberalization in and of itself is not a problem, since it merely allows already existing trade to occur in the light of day.
That's what I say. The GOP did NOT elect Obama, the Dems did! I could give a rat's ass about any GOP initiatives because they severely damaged our country and its reputation.
talking about(obambi) barking at the wrong tree damm shit is funny as hell!!!!!!!!!! be carefull mr president you going to rush-down to the ground ,hell yeaaaa!!!! now you are in the big leagues little boy.
I'm not sure what you're responding to because my comment was knocked out by the negatives. What my kids will be paying for is the damage Bush did to our country the last eight years. In fact, the damage stole one of my kid's life at age 21, so she won't be paying a bloody red cent.
Why is it that packages presented by liberals are always called moving FORWARD? If you dare oppose them you are accused of being stuck in the PAST? I say, they are moving backwards even even if the package includes condoms.
If Barnie Frank would have said hmmmm, Frannie & Freddie don't look good, but he did not, Barnie said everything is "SOLID" go "FORWARD" then you see Barnie at his best work, "pointing fingers" things that make you go hmmmmmm.
Oh, and you don't remember Bush's early speech where he wished everyone, including the poor, could be a home owner? Actually, I agreed with that policy. Cheats on the business side of things are the real culprits for this economic mortgage mess. They found a way to bastardize the whole thing by double, triple dipping into the pockets of the poor. Screw them, We should seize the assets of the rich and redistribute them to all of their victims.
wow it really makes sense to increase spending while reducing taxes? sure didn't work over the last 8 years. maybe we wouldn't be in this mess if rush had this idea 8 years ago. things that make you go hmmmm.
1)Hyperinflation is an impossibility with institutions like FED overseeing the money supply. They destroy almost as much money as they make. The money supply increases by an average of about 3.8% each year to match population and GDP growth.
2)The bailouts are giving the people (the money and power) instead of injecting money into the top of the pyramid and letting it trickle down. Like the GOP have to keep going.
Your facts are wrong, but I'll just deal with one in interests of time. The Fed has increased money supply by 36% since September 2008. 36%. If we use your figure of a 3.8% annual average, that means they've increased the money supply by almost 10 times the average in just 90 days. Inflation is not an "impossibility" as you say, it's a probablity.
2)The bailouts are giving the people (the money and power) instead of injecting money into the top of the pyramid and letting it trickle down. Like the GOP have to keep going.
3)Since September 1 2008 US tax payers have dished out $1.2 trillion into the top of the pyramid. Instead of spending it, they keep asking for more, and blame it all on us.
4)Obama told them to use it or lose it. And, as we all can see they didnt use it.
5)So now they are going to abandon the tickle down scheme and the elite are shiting brick in a panic.6)They own the media and are feeding everyone propaganda as to why this new plan will NEVER work. And it will never work for them maybe but the rest of us will be sitting pretty.
I marked your comment up to -4 after these devils marked you down to -5. Maybe you could help me mark up the comments that say Rush is a big blubber flub and mark down the pro-Rush comments. This is war!

Obama doesnt want to adjust the tax code to normal... he wants the "weathy" to pay for all the people who dont actually pay taxes. And i hope Obama fails too.
imrandymossbaby 2 years ago
Absolutely right. Under Bush the number of people who pay no income taxes whatsoever went from 34% to 38%. Under Obama that number is project to go close to 50%.
What is going to happen once 50% of the country pays no taxes? They're going raise taxes even more because the minority won't be able to stop it. That's called spreading the wealth around.

@imrandymossbaby Here is a scary thought for you. I learned this in the middle 90s while working with a certified genius at Ft Monmouth New Jersey. Hi, friend!

The fiscal situation improves under Democrats and deteriorates under Republicans.
sierraMamaProd 3 years ago
sierraMama: LOL!!
Are you seriously that ignorant?
Who do you think has controlled Congress for the past 2 years? DEMS
Who controlled Congress 6 of the 8 yrs under Clinton? REPUBS
And oh yes.....the Carter admin worked so well with a Democratic Congress.
Uh....newsflash. DEMOCRATS blocked S190 that would've provided more Fannie/Freddie oversight. THAT is precisely what caused the "meltdown"
ytdsmom 2 years ago
The last two years the Republicans set a record for the filibuster. They had control. But hey, under Carter the deficit did go from 65 billion to 85 billion but under Reagan, he set a new US record at 100 billion! At the end of his term it was over 200 billion! After Bush senior took it to 400, it took that mad spender Clinton to reduce it to to almost zero. Another Bush in the White House sent it to almost 600 billion. Yes, it's Democrats who are always the big spenders.

ytdsmom 2 years ago
Actually the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act contributed more to the meltdown. Also, Greenspan kept interest rates artificially low after the dot-com bust, which the Bush admin could have done something about; these low interest rates created widespread housing speculation causing people to refinance or get second mortgages in effort to try and make money off the false appreciation in home equity. You need to listen to Rush and Hannity a little less and do some some reading.
McGriff99 2 years ago
McGriff99:
Actually, Gramm-Leach-Bliley had nothing to do with the meltdown. In fact, it has actually helped --- more banks would have failed if not for GLB
Remember too --- Clinton signed that!
ytdsmom 2 years ago
So the massive increase in derivitization of mortgage-backed securities had nothing to do with the meltdown? Please explain. Yes Clinton signed it, to his discredit. And you never addressed my Greenspan point. Where was Bush when the Fed was inflating the housing bubble?
McGriff99 2 years ago
Gramm-Leach-Bliley did not create securitization and collateralized debt obligations. It did not change the rules for banks leverage ratios. If anything, it mitigated some risks by allowing financial companies to diversify their businesses, and it is the most diversified firms that are best weathering the storm.
ytdsmom 2 years ago
You're blaming Bush for Greenspan?
Greenspan was Fed chairman for nearly 20 years --- including of course, under Clinton. Are you blaming Clinton too for the dot com bust?
Bush nor Obama are economists -- that's why they appoint
As far as the housing bubble, that's compliments of the Democratic agenda

Reagan is not GOD! Neither is Obama but he is trying to get us out of debt! Give him a chance. Corporations had their chance they just shipped all jobs over seas and added to unemployment.
G7X3 2 years ago
Clinton instated the highest taxes in history and what did he do to create jobs? He burdened the employers with even more costs, therefore growth was stalled. Reagan is not God, you're right, but he's as close as any president has gotten. And pardon me for refusing to believe that spending trillions of non-existent currency is getting us out of debt. And Obama thinks no one will think anything of a "financial summit" only days after the single biggest expenditure in the history of the world?!
snerby141989 2 years ago
Clinton did get this country out of debt and it was great time in America.Period!Taxes are just a necessary evil we pay them we hate em we don't pay them were screwed. But everyone has to pay their fair share! Obama was not only an economic crisis but 2wars and repairing our damaged reputation across the world.
Rush is wishing the country to fail if he wants Obama to fail! He has to stop being so damn selfish!
G7X3 2 years ago
Clinton had time to take advantage of a good economy by raising taxes on everyone, there's your surplus. Look where we are now, now that the chips have fallen. Of course, bad mortgage loans and war have taken their toll, too, we can't rule those out. Taxes are a necessary evil, as long as what they go to are wanted and needed by most of the population. And the top 10% of tax payers in the US pay over 70% of total taxes. That's fair share? And I don't care about our "reputation." Don't matter.
snerby141989 2 years ago
You do realize that Congress has a say in things right? That's who ACTUALLY passes laws. Welfare reform and NAFTA are bashed by liberals, but did more to help employment and the economy than anything else. And those were passed during the Clinton years...by Republicans.
Also, I'm not sure what "fair share" means. But I don't think it should mean the top 10% paying 75% of the taxes in this country. Fair would mean a flat tax or something of that sort.
jarrbear05 2 years ago
For being "bashed by liberals," the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act of 1996 (aka the Welfare Reform Act), received a lot of liberal votes. It was 78 - 21 in the Senate and 328 - 101 in the House. I know Republicans were in power then, but they weren't THAT in power.
anthropus8 2 years ago
By "bashed by liberals" I mean that Obama repeatedly spoke out against it in the IL Senate (I live there and heard him myself) and the fact that CLINTON VETOED IT TWICE. You really need to look these things up.
jarrbear05 2 years ago
Also, when the "top 10 percent" also controls more than 85 percent of the wealth in this country but only pays 75 percent of the taxes, I think that's disproportionate as well. I also think it's disproportionate that the average CEO makes more than 262 times what the average worker in his company makes.
anthropus8 2 years ago
That's not even close to correct. If it was, that means that if we had a flat tax, the wealthy would pay 85% of the taxes. Since we have a progressive income tax, and they pay 75%, we know that that's incorrect. But I digress...
The "fairest" tax would be a flat tax. Where everybody pays a percentage of their income. This would encourage people to get richer, as well as tax everybody so that everybody is paying at least SOME taxes.
jarrbear05 2 years ago
"Fair" is a subjective term, so it's not exactly applicable here. And prevailing economic theory (see e.g.: Smith's "The Wealth of Nations") says that the wealthy should pay a higher *percentage* in taxes than the lower and middle classes, because a much lower percentage of their income is spent on 'necessaries.' Additionally, the rich have more to lose if the government is undermined and thus have a higher vested interest in upholding the stability of the presiding government.

Keep hating liberals were not the ones who put the country in debt CONSERVATIVES DID but all of you are so incompetent to admit it. BUSH just made Clinton much better
G7X3 2 years ago
The deregulation of the financial institution was not the problem.
The 'deregulation' of the Gramm bill allowed financial institutions to cross over into other financial businesses. Banks could now sell insurance etc.etc. The bill allowed for more competition in financial services. If that's all the bill did, there wouldn't be a problem.
The problem with the Gramm bill was the expansion of the Community Reinvestment Act into it. Bill Clinton wanted that in the bill.
.
TheLyinLiberal 2 years ago

TheLyinLiberal 2 years ago
The cause of the problem is rooted in government intervention into the housing market.
From a legislative point, it started with Carter and the CRA in 1977. Clinton's legislation made everything else possible.
After the tech bubble collapsed, money moved into the perceived safety of housing and mortgages. The bubble was started.
TheLyinLiberal 2 years ago
Where the actual regulations were needed - at Fannie & Freddie - attempts to do this were blocked in committee by the Democrats in 2004.
Without the intervention of the vote-whoring politicians in the first place, the housing bubble may not happen. If it does happen, it is much smaller. The structural integrity of the banking system is not cracked.
TheLyinLiberal 2 years ago

If the President wants to spend $1.3 trillion dollars - this better work. Putting our country in the hole for that kind of money is serious business. After spending this much money, if we're still in a deep recession, the "George Bush" excuse just isn't going to cut it.
TheObserver81 3 years ago 3
The spending will never work. Keynesian economics does not work. It didn't work in the 1930's or any other time it has been tried.
Even if it did, much of the spending is for 2-3 years down the road. Oddly enough, there are congressional elections in 2010 and Obama's first term ends in 2012. Gee, if this such an emergency, why are they spending money then?
Answer: Socialism.

Bush did not create this mess.

This vid shows the Democrat assholes on the committee making the whole thing into a political/race issue.
The mistake being made is that free market capitalism is being blamed.
It is not capitalism that is at fault. It is the socialism interjected into the situation by the vote whores that set the stage.
Affirmative action housing and the socialistic thinking behind it created the mess. That thinking will never solve the problem.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 2
That's why the fear is dragging on as it is. Fannie/Freddie had to be saved - what the Republicans warned of happened. There was no option.
Compounding all the mistakes before, the bailout of AIG was the next one. The other financial institutions had a vested self-interest in the system. Had the government , led by the Democrat idiots in congress (with Bush) stayed the fuck out - the other's would have moved in to prop up AIG. They would have had to.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 2
When the gov't moved in, the financial sector moved back - there's no use getting involved if the gov't is going to contain the problem. They couldn't see what the result of that would be.
The problem was this - gov't involvement instilled the fear and started the panic. The dam was breached.
Remember who most wanted the first bailout - it was Reid/Pelosi/Barney Frank et al. Bush didn't have much choice - a big economic correction was going to hurt McCain more than Obama.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 2
Why are the Democrats giving all this money to the companies? If they really wanted to help people and prevent another depression, they would simply ensure that the social programs in place would be able to handle the increased demands. Eventually the recession would ease and things would get moving again. Tax cuts would stimulate the economy. None of that would cost what this pork bill is going to cost.
Instead they are planning corporate welfare on an unimaginable scale.
Why?
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 2
The Democrats, who claim to care about the 'little guy' are giving tons of money to the people they claim are the problem - the capitalists.
Why not simply maintain the social safety net and let the free market correct itself. Companies and jobs will be lost in the short term. The weak ones die.
In time new economic activity occurs, new companies form and new jobs are born. The history of the country proves this. Everything goes in cycles. Why not let the cycle simply do its thing?
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 2
The answer is this: The Democrats and Obama, who boldly claimed to want to end the 'politics of fear' actually have no such intention. Obama is promising the sky will fall if he doesn't get his bill immediately. Why?
The truth is this: The party largely responsible for the meltdown don't want people to know what really happened. They want to use the situation to ram every socialist idea through while people are scared shitless. They don't want people thinking.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 2
Another dirty little secret is this - The stimulus bill will not work. The new deal didn't end the depression, it prolonged it. Japan tried to pull itself out of recession that way and spent the 1990's in a prolonged recession.
What is the answer - get the fucking government out of the way. Cut taxes now and promise to cut more. Ensure the social safety net is in place. Let the free markets and free people work through the tough times and come out the other side.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 3
Unfortunately, the people in power want people to be fearful and rely on the government to 'fix' things and make everyone feel secure. Their electoral success depends on that.
If they did what I said, they wouldn't be Democrats. They would be the guys (some Republicans anyway) that tried to stop it.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago
Socialist thinking created the mess. You can not solve a problem with the thinking that created it.
The US economy will recover from this. Obama and the Demcrats will take any credit. Their actions will actually have very little to do with the recovery. The private sector will pull the economy out and spearhead the recovery.
Obama and the congress actions will do something else.
Their actions will create the next disaster.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago
The end result of the Obama years will be a US economy that is more socialized, that is, more of the economy will be government influenced and run. The private sector will be smaller.
When the next financial crisis comes, the massive public debt combined with the smaller private sector will not be as able to pull the US out of recession. It might still do it, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.
The United States will then be bankrupt.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago 2
With financial collapse will come the need for the government to prop up and take over more and more of what is left. The United States will become socialist. The founders would not recognize it, nor approve of it. You may not recognize the country 20 years from now. The great experiment will have failed.

this whole talk of bipartisanship is silly. not a single republican voted for the stimulus package. that seems a bit strange to me. feels like it was done out of spite but i could be wrong. obama should stop trying to be a bipartisan and just go ahead without the republicans cuz obviously they want nothing to do with him.
ramone2185 3 years ago
Obama wants the Republicans signed on so when this massive pork bill fails, the Republicans will get blamed as well. Obama can't pin this march to socialism on Bush.
TheLyinLiberal 3 years ago
No, but you can blame the millions of people who voted for him, including me. VIVA Marxism!
1000You2b0001 3 years ago
It was not out of spite, it was because this bill is more pork than stimulus.
Ask any democrat with an economics degree it this bill is 100% a good idea
Obama is a fool that does not understand that taxes (which are OK) are bad when they are too high, since such a case reduces revenue to the gov
Where is the threshold for "taxes to high"? that is arguable.
What is not arguable to those who at least passed econ 101 is that the threshold exists
csuebman 3 years ago
Here's the problem u can't cut taxes and fight 2 wars at the same time...that is just 1 big reason why we are in this mess another reason is NAFTA..Bill Clinton created it and Bush supported it..Obama says he is going look at it, but it has to go!!! It lets companies outsource manufacturing jobs that could put American citizens to work and food on the table.
DPEART6475 3 years ago
Ain't nobody talking about cutting taxes, we all should understand that the federal budget needs to be balanceds.
However, for congress to allow spending to get out of control (in mostly pork barrel and pet projects) is way too dangerous for a democracy If the generation that passed the 16th amendment could see the type of generations we are, too busy watching TV, they'd take it back, especially seeing how many people heard Obama's absurd inaugural speech and thouth nothing bad about it.
csuebman 3 years ago
NAFTA bad? Maybe
but I hope you understand what you are talking about and reject Nafta for the right reasons.
If you are a protectionist, then you know nothing about basic economics, since trade liberalization in and of itself is not a problem, since it merely allows already existing trade to occur in the light of day.
Ever hear about comparative advantage?

That's what I say. The GOP did NOT elect Obama, the Dems did! I could give a rat's ass about any GOP initiatives because they severely damaged our country and its reputation.

I'm not sure what you're responding to because my comment was knocked out by the negatives. What my kids will be paying for is the damage Bush did to our country the last eight years. In fact, the damage stole one of my kid's life at age 21, so she won't be paying a bloody red cent.

1000You2b0001 3 years ago
wow it really makes sense to increase spending while reducing taxes? sure didn't work over the last 8 years. maybe we wouldn't be in this mess if rush had this idea 8 years ago. things that make you go hmmmm.

Like the GOP have to keep going.
dax313xab 3 years ago
Your facts are wrong, but I'll just deal with one in interests of time. The Fed has increased money supply by 36% since September 2008. 36%. If we use your figure of a 3.8% annual average, that means they've increased the money supply by almost 10 times the average in just 90 days. Inflation is not an "impossibility" as you say, it's a probablity.
BailMeOut75 3 years ago 9
2)The bailouts are giving the people (the money and power) instead of injecting money into the top of the pyramid and letting it trickle down. Like the GOP have to keep going.
3)Since September 1 2008 US tax payers have dished out $1.2 trillion into the top of the pyramid. Instead of spending it, they keep asking for more, and blame it all on us.
dax313xab 3 years ago
4)Obama told them to use it or lose it. And, as we all can see they didnt use it.
5)So now they are going to abandon the tickle down scheme and the elite are shiting brick in a panic.6)They own the media and are feeding everyone propaganda as to why this new plan will NEVER work. And it will never work for them maybe but the rest of us will be sitting pretty.
