It's one thing not to believe in heaven and hell and it's quite another not to believe heaven and hell being actual places! Just a "little" clarification: Baha'u'llah did not create any theories. Not even one. He received a new Revelation from God, the One Creator of that is. Whether one accepts it or not that is completely up to each individual. But this has nothing to do with theories. It is two completely different things.

Also how do they deal with the contradictions to baha'i philosophy presented by prophets. For example; baha'is believe in equality for women while prophets in the old and new testament say that women and men are not equal?

I'm a Bahai newbie but I'll try to answer your question....Prophets may have different social practices, you have to take in account of the different time frames of the prophets but the core beliefs are the same.
So the prophets denied other prophets legitimacy because of different social practices... Muhammad lead a military campaign slaughtering Christians and Jews because of different social practices. The differences between the homophobic, sexist practices and laws of moses and buddhist teachings are because of different social practices and time frames? Did god just change his mind to fit with the times?

Why does every religion have so much double speak about the personal soul? Can we just admit it already. The next life is beyond your grasp. It belongs to the individuals who are yet to come. You can help the future children through selfless action but it is not a reward for the personal soul, rather a reward for the collective soul.
The Baha'i view is that all true religion comes from the One God, Who is called by many names due to the many languages. God, or Allah, or the Great Spirit are the same. Who is G Fechner? I used to know a family named Fechner back in South Dakota. I also used not believe in God, because of how many relgious people lived: hypocrisy, racism, etc. But now I believe in God, mostly because of a better understanding that the Source of the universe is not confined to the narrow understanding of many so-called religious people of the past, who had limited or childish concepts of diety. We all need to use our own mind and follow our own heart path...
The fetus cannot see the world around him or her. People cannot see the spiritual world around them. Nevertheless, the Prophets tell us that that world exists. Our spiritual senses grow over time, and it becomes more visible in a non-spiritual sense. Our attachment to physical things is a distraction from spiritual things. Thus, we are tested with the things of this world. The Bab says that we can be tested by the things of both this world and the next... That is very challenging.
I think bahaullah makes sense of the afterlife (more so than any other religion). Because we have know clue of what the afterlife is like. It is obvious that is not some phyical place that sounds like a bar they are obviously symbols.

This talks about the afterlife taking place in the spiritual world which is an "extension" of this world beyond time and space. But could not one also look at the reverse: this realm as a "restriction" of that greater realm? And is that the only other realm that exists? What then is to be made of all the teachings talking about "endless 'Worlds of God' that are beyond number" (paraphrase, I don't know the exact wording offhand)? Is it the only other realm we can go to?

If you wikipedia hell, most religion goes for at least 10 sentences. When you reached the Bahai section- there's only 2 sentences, exactly what this video said about "hell' the remoteness from god. There are other bibles, I use one called "Oahspe". Bible scholar Bart Ehrman says that the bible is full of contradiction and error, and is not the 'word of God', only the word of man. I do not trust it. It is wrong about so many things.

As to homosexuality, one can reason that what is fully natural to our sexuality is the male/female relationship. Whether hormones are within natural parameters or not might explain the propensity for normal attraction to some degree, but essentially Baha'is accept as a commandment to accept that marriage is between a man and a woman and that chastity outside of marriage is a Law of God, and that obedience to all of the Laws of God lead to human health and happiness in this world and the next

Baha'is do not believe in reincarnation, but rather that the life of the soul continues beyond the realm of the physical reality that we know and experience in the senses. The next world is to this world as this world is to the world of the fetus. In the womb we prepare for this world in the growth of limbs, eyes, brain, etc, all required to function here. The virtues of patience, compassion, love, justice, etc are spiritual and accommodate or facilitate our happiness in the next stage.

Our physical identity progresses from the embryo, the fetus, etc, shedding the home of the womb and placenta. To all those arguing about the Baha'i faith. Everyone who follows the Baha'i faith has to INVESTIGATE it on their own before they can accept it. We're all people, people who came from the same religions as you (buddhism, christianity, etc..) And we went to the roots-the writings, and found the truth for ourselves. Instead of arguing, do the same. Do a little independent investigation, and you might surprise yourself! find a baha'i in person, or even check out the online baha'i reference library.

Some infos on internet sites are very misleading, When you mention the word Prophet, Automatically it refers to God. And when you mentioned the word God, That will always refer to just, mercy, compassion, love and many more beautiful things. Despite all that, you choose the unthinkable in the darkest way possible. I don't agree with the TITLE of this video. Bahá'í's in fact DONT believe in a "heaven" and "hell" thats the point.....why was this made the title. its extremely misleading.

It's one thing not to believe in heaven and hell and it's quite another not to believe heaven and hell being actual places! Bahais do believe in heaven and hell, they believe them to be to directions or conditions both possible for the soul to grow towards. The rest is beautifully explained in the vid.

@sinevred I agree with you, but the statement I am making is that the title taken as its superficial self is misleading. That is, realistically more people will encounter the title of this video than those who will watch it, let alone watch it all the way through. And as such, they will be affected by this signifier to think that Baha'i's believe in something else.

Just a "little" clarification: Baha'u'llah did not create any theories. Not even one. He received a new Revelation from God, the One Creator of that is. Whether one accepts it or not that is completely up to each individual. But this has nothing to do with theories. It is two completely different things.

How do baha'is deal with prophets contradicting themselves.
Also how do they deal with the contradictions to baha'i philosophy presented by prophets. For example; baha'is believe in equality for women while prophets in the old and new testament say that women and men are not equal?
Do baha'is have any evidence to back up their beliefs? the prophets don't really mention any progressive revelation.
I'm not trying to be mean i'm just trying to find things out.

I'm a Bahai newbie but I'll try to answer your question....Prophets may have different social practices, you have to take in account of the different time frames of the prophets but the core beliefs are the same.

So the prophets denied other prophets legitimacy because of different social practices... Muhammad lead a military campaign slaughtering Christians and Jews because of different social practices. The differences between the homophobic, sexist practices and laws of moses and buddhist teachings are because of different social practices and time frames? Did god just change his mind to fit with the times?
None of the prophets even said anything about progressive revelation.

The outlines of God for spirituality is all in the Bible. 1- Believe and trust in Jesus. Believe his dying on the cross is sufficient for your wrongdoings to be forgiven.
2- Ask forgiveness for your wrongdoings.
3- Stop the wrongdoings.
4- Talk to God daily.
5- Read the word of God, the Bible, for yourself. Ask Holy Spirit for clarification of the things you do not understand.
6- Grow in God in all aspects of your life.
Show his love towards others. Forgive as you have been forgiven.

We have been given free will and, in utilizing this capacity, we have the choice to test Baha'u'llah, and any others who make such claims, through our own efforts or to listen to others. Surely, if we seek for truth, then we will do those investigations for ourself and not rely upon others who may have a vested interest. There've been a few Christian & Buddhist saints that achieved humility. But it's both human nature & original sin to be arrogant about one's self, one's soul & one's creed. Common are the qualities of Adam & Eve, the mockers of Noah, Nimrod, and those in Sodom and Gemorrah. Sometimes, religious people act like children, and need a kick in the pants. No, you misunderstood, and I apologize for not being more clear. It is the soul that is individual "on the sea of the spirit" -- "each individual is a distinct wave", and "your souls are as waves". For sure it is the soul that survives for eternal life. Possibly also the spirit,but a definitive answer on that one would require more study on my part to confirm. And at the same time, I would research the aspects of mind and heart because it seems, to me at least,these things all move in concert

My understanding of the Baha'i teachings is that we are all the "Children of God", the good and the bad, and the bad have simply chosen the wrong path. This confusion of 'collective soul' may arise from the differences of 'spirit' and 'soul' -

The Baha'i view is that all true religion comes from the One God, Who is called by many names due to the many languages. God, or Allah, or the Great Spirit are the same. Who is G Fechner? I used to know a family named Fechner back in South Dakota. I also used not believe in God, because of how many relgious people lived: hypocrisy, racism, etc. But now I believe in God, mostly because of a better understanding that the Source of the universe is not confined to the narrow understanding of many so-called religious people of the past, who had limited or childish concepts of diety. The fetus cannot see the world around him or her. People cannot see the spiritual world around them. Nevertheless, the Prophets tell us that that world exists. Our spiritual senses grow over time, and it becomes more visible in a non-spiritual sense. Our attachment to physical things is a distraction from spiritual things. Thus, we are tested with the things of this world. The Bab says that we can be tested by the things of both this world and the next... That is very challenging.

This talks about the afterlife taking place in the spiritual world which is an "extension" of this world beyond time and space. But could not one also look at the reverse: this realm as a "restriction" of that greater realm? And is that the only other realm that exists? What then is to be made of all the teachings talking about "endless 'Worlds of God' that are beyond number" (paraphrase, I don't know the exact wording offhand)? Is it the only other realm we can go to?

Scripture indicates that the very same Jesus who ascended into heaven will one day personally return (Acts 1:9-11). Highly visible signs that will accompany the Second Coming (Matthew 24:29). None of these signs were present when Baha'u'llah arrived on the scene. He also didn't show up in the right place. Scripture clearly indicates that at the Second Coming the Messiah will come to Jerusalem and his feet will physically touch the Mount of Olives (Zech. 14:4). Baha'u'llah never did this.

Actually, it was the Forerunner, or Prophet Herald of Baha'u'llah who first named Him by this title, which means 'The Glory of God'.
There are countless references to "Baha" in many writings of the Bab. The Bab, whose name means 'The Gate' - among many other references - has said: "Well is it with him who fixeth his gaze upon the order of Bahá'u'lláh and rendereth thanks unto his Lord."

Hell has a few clear things said of it in the Bible. One is separation from God - "shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power" as 2 Thessalonians 1:9 says. And Christ clearly said it contained fire many times. And its eternal (Matthew 25:46)? I really don't see how these things can be reconciled with Baha'i without saying Christ or Baha'u'lah was mistaken or lying.

Muhammed was a false prophet from allah the god, and he did not know Jesus and in fact he owned no Bible in Arabic, because none existed. Muhammed never knew of God's saving grace, mercy and message of salvation through Jesus and this is a simple fact illustrating that he was not a "progressive revelation" as Baha'i teaches. Christian view of salvation is very different from Islam (See Romans 3:20) Christ pays the price that all deserve, dying as an innocent sacrifice for a guilty humanity.

Muhammed was a false prophet from allah the god, and he did not know Jesus and in fact he owned no Bible in Arabic, because none existed. Muhammed never knew of God's saving grace, mercy and message of salvation through Jesus and this is a simple fact illustrating that he was not a "progressive revelation" as Baha'i teaches. Christian view of salvation is very different from Islam (See Romans 3:20) Christ pays the price that all deserve, dying as an innocent sacrifice for a guilty humanity.

Jesus claimed to be the only access to God, His Father (John 14:6--7). He claimed to be able to forgive sins (Matt. 9:2--7). He claimed to be the judge of all mankind and to dishonor Him was to dishonor God His Father (John 5:22--23). He claimed to have had glory with His Father before the world began (John 17:5).
