  • That looks like one heck of a healthy breakfast!

  • 1st need a cast iron griddle

    2nd use no sugar

3rd do not need to use BPowder, it's bad for you.......BC are naturally flat

4th you can actually use water , and egg white......BECAUSE THE NATURAL TASTE OF BUCKWHEAT IS A NATURAL ORGANIC VEGAN NUTTY FLAVOR.......JUST TOP WITH ORGANIC MAPLE SYRUP, RASPBERRIES, OR ANY BERRY.......

  • Did he fart as he was opening up the soy milk? lol

  • Comment removed

  • and coconut oil since I don't have any coconut milk.. I'll let you know how it turns out!

  • Thanks so much! I'm going to make my first pancakes ever right banana and buckwhear flour.. wish me luck! I'm going to use lemon (since that's what I have).. is lime better?

I'm using dates and agave nectar instead of sugar (a lot of sugar is not vegan as it usea charred animal bones for processing - ridiculous, I know. So check with a company before using their product)

  • check me out for easy recipes!!!!!!!!!

  • Yum! I LOVE Buckwheat. I just made a couple bluberry buckwheat pancakes. Do you know if Agave syrup raises your triglycerides, as sugar does. I know it's natural and everything, but it seems like it might be sugar in liquid form.

  • Well it can be lower on the glycemic index than sugar and it takes less of it to make things sweet than sugar does (and tastes better too IMO) but it's still something to be careful with if you're sensitive to sugar. You can try stevia too. I heard it has an aftertaste that some people don't like, though I haven't tried it so I can't say.

  • LoL, I have EXACTLY the same can openner. =)

  • vegan pancakes...w/ sugar..(wtf?) is there an alternative u may suggest??? agave or honey perhaps?

  • Sugar is vegan. whats wrong with that?

  • certain sugar is not vegan if it was processed with charred animal bones. check with the company.

  • Sugar is allowed in a vegan diet. He said that you could use agave in place of sugar. You could also use Stevia.

  • sugar that's not processed through charred animal bones is vegan. check with the company.

  • honey is not vegan, Roots... use agave or dates or any of the many other sweet things available.

  • Buckwheat is awesome. Its a great way for vegans to get protein

  • im a new comer to the vegan world

i quit after watching how the .. um.. john something video about how the cows are killed. really disturbing, and very sickening. cant believe all this time i've been eating meats from such practice.

  • i like meat but i HATE H-A-T-E how its made. makes me sad

  • then don't eat meat! :) because when you eats meat, that means you are agreeing with the process that you hates!

  • but i was raised on meat so its going to be hard. i only eat it for dinner, barely! woo hoo

  • I was raised by meat-eaters too, so I am a meat eater. But I'm down to once/twice a week (mostly on weekends, when I'm invited).

Don't know how to cook meat; I prefer to substitute soy/tofu or bulgur groats for meat. But I love the unique flavor of tuna, trout and teriyaki salmon; what's substitute for that?

And another question: why make wheat free pancakes? Allergies?

  • You can eat tempeh or other things you make with teriyaki flavor. I tried this amazing vegan unagi that tasted the same as eel unagi because all the flavor came from the sauce!

I was raised by meat eaters, and I used to love the taste of meat and all animal products. I was one of those people who needed animal products with EVERYTHING, the more the better.

I went vegan though, and found other foods I love instead! Taste is not an issue. Even if it was, non-violence/animal freedom win out :)

  • I've gotten about 9 6" pancakes out of mine (if I'm not mistaken) and 2 are plenty for me in the morning when you include the fruit topping. I vary the fruit topping with peanut butter, raisins, bananas, peaches, dried dates, and mixed nuts. Anything is possible with this recipe and its delicious. Also I mix enough for a few days and refrigerate it to use.

  • Questions:

They look like 5" pancakes - how many does this recipe make, and do you know if they freeze well?

  • WHO cannot love figs? I'm gonna try this one. Thanks for the idea. :D

  • Nice; Ill def try and use this!! Viva vegans!

  • According to god, VEGANS rule the world! Hey meat eater, wake up in the morning and smell the rotting carcass in your partners stomach on their breath. Hows it feel sleeping next to a cemetary? Hows it feel kissing their mouth knowing theres a dead animal in their gut??? Vegans may not be better than you (in your mind)they are CLEANER though.

  • gene great you don't eat meat whoopie gives you no right to judge meat eaters 0.o

and the fact that youd say someone is cleaner only because they eat a certain thing is pure ignorance in my opinion.....dogs eat crap and they still have cleaner mouths then humans

  • If you eat meat, your insides are very filthy. Dogs have a short intestine and pass the filth quite rapidly. Vegans have the right to judge meat eaters as filthy, because they are. Is your body a temple or a cemetary?

  • Do some reading on sugar if you think you're so clean.

  • aaaaamen!
