This is a massively important find. Definately the UK Top of the Pops 10/69. The BBC original is presumed wiped but clearly this identifies the posibility that a German copy may still exist. Any German folk out there in a position to make investigations??
Do you have the ending credits for this German documentary? It should list the source (archive house) of this short clip of the song Sweet Dreams.
The Sweet Dreams clip is obviously from some TV show back in 1970 (like Top of the Pops)... and this German production company bought the rights to show 30 seconds of this clip from whatever archive house owns the rights.
Can you post the ending credits, so I can read them? Thanks.
Yes... I've seen those pics from 1971 where Ian's wearing this hat. He's holding up a gold Aqualung record... and you can see Jeffrey Hammond sitting with the band.
This mimed studio footage of "Sweet Dream" is obviously from some 1970 TV show (like Top of the Pops)... and 30 seconds of it was used by a German rock documentary about Jethro Tull in the 90's. AGAIN... the whole "Sweet Dream" song is probably sitting in some private archive -- similar to "Teacher" in the Getty Images archive.

Excellent!!
This is from BBC's 'Top Of The Pops' recorded in London on October 30th 1969.
Would be great to get hold of the original tape if it hasnt been wiped. Lets hope it's still in the vaults.

Hey Nick.
I've NEVER seen this either!!!
RARE stuff in deed.
But this is 1970, not 1971.
Glenn Cornick was kicked out of the band right before the Aqualung album was recorded in December 1970.

So your saying some where out there, there is a Teacher from Getty Images without the gettyimages water mark like the one I have?
That would be awsome to have as well. I would love to see Tull playing 1971. I can picture ian really active and jumping around a lot...
maybe some day...
