Great video, and congratulations to all the emergency responders involved in making these saves. Truly amazing, and that's what this business is all about... saving lives. One question though - why is it that I rarely see SCBA used in the bulk of your videos? The smoke isn't bad enough for the firefighters, but it can prevent the neighbor from going in and killed the mother? Anyone on the inside should be packed up... takes like 15 seconds max to put a face mask on.
Bad event--I think the community needs to help HFD with more funding so that firefighters don't have to breath smoke and can have enough people to effect a rescue more quickly! Hope the kids make it and aren't in pain. Great video to learn from for all firefighters of an awful tragedy. What a nightmare for our firefighter brothers. Get those air packs bought and on! Fight on for another day for another person that needs your heroism!
Ed, superb video of an incredible save. I can't imagine what went through your mind as you were watching the fire and seeing the rescue. Thank God for the firefighters going back in and finding the three year old. And thsnk you for filming this so we can see the reality of fire fighting.
@eagles303 The cause is being investigated by the fire Marshall and local investigators. It originated in the kitchen and is believed to be accidental. There are no signs of foul play
@JLJ061 Tell me about it and as for making it to the news........ Yeah, that video was given to the Hobart fire chief to use for training and critiquing, then it ends up and all the local news channels and papers without my permission or knowledge......
@ 7:18 That is a Miracle, To see how involved the house was and still after AT LEAST 7:18 of the house being on fire, the child managed to survive, God was watching over that child.
@Wonkawillie77 He was in the front bedroom that you see in the video and from what I was told he wrapped himself up in carpet. This was the three year old and yes it is amazing
Did it melt the siding off the house next to it?

That must be the three year old at 7:18. How did that kid survive? That, my friends, is a miracle!
