While Nate's a good guy, this video is 2-minutes of watching him tighten two screws -- not very helpful. Maybe Scotty Kilmer will make a video of how to flush a cooling system. Scotty's videos are very informative for DIY and gives all you need to know in two or three minutes.

1) You should buy a Radiator Flush Kit from your local auto parts store. (I purchased a Flush and Fill Kit today at Auto Zone for approx $4.00)
The directions are written there step by step on the backside of the box. (This video provided by expert village is in fact the correct way of doing things.. however expert village could have explain in more depth, concentrating on the important points.)
2) The hose to cut is the HEATER INLET HOSE - (The hose runs from firewall to the top of engine.)
Is there a cheapo way to clean out the rust and sludge deposits safely? Like adding Ajax or some other household degreaser without compromising hoses and seals and internal workings? Thanks, i love you.
Instead of doing this, can't you just change your coolant every day for 3 days? This will get rid of all debris. For example, first drain the radiator, then fill with water, then drive for an hour, then drain the radiator again, then fill with water again, then drive another hour, then drain again, then fill with antifreeze and distilled water. Doing this will get rid of all loose contaminants.
These flush sytems only do a very little bit. It still comes down to changing coolant regualr with clean water mixed with correct coolant. Aluminum radiators and blocks need the special inhibitors found in silicated coolant replacements. Once corrosion starts in radiator tubes very diffiult to flush
For what it's worth, I installed one of these on my '83 Toyota back in 1988. It flushed a TON of garbage out of the system, huge flakes of rust, I couldn't believe it. I drove that car -- HARD -- till 1998, and that Prestone cap never leaked a drop.
yeah..he spends 45 seconds or so of the video tightening hose clamps and not a single second telling anyone which hose to cut into...And before any of you lame-asses decide to dog on me here..Yes I DO know which one to cut..but obviously the point here was to educate those who don't know. so...FAIL!!
@cyborghunter26 Well...Cy..I am bright enough to know the difference between "your" and " you're". But don't feel too bad, so many of you internet trolls do not. Secondly, take the time to read my post. I said,.I do know which hose to cut. My point was that the OP did not tell whether to cut the inlet or outlet hose to the heater core. But then..you probable are not even aware that there is an inlet and outlet side. Installing that t-fitting on the outlet side will NOT work.
what a Dick face, that cap is not rated at any pressure, a cooling system is a Pressurized system, sry to subyoooyoy for following this idiot's instructions and almost having a blown head gasket. on my Bmw e39 i just remove the thermostat housing and stick a garden hose to back flush it and put the housing back on with a new thermostat.
perthtechnician i must have struck a nerve. im sorry i insulted your boyfriend. are you the one that taught the fucking idiot how to tighten hose clamps. if so they should stick the other end of the radiator hose in your mouth. remember to swallow hard just like you do with your boyfriends cock. go fuck yourself you pathetic loser.
lol I actually did this on my car, today after getting to school and parking my car, the cap on the T valve just exploded and it threw all the coolant out on the engine which made the car look like a turkish bath, you might want to mention that all the pressure building up might destroy the valve.

you stupid ass. your no fucking mechanic. they had to edit the video to give you enough time to tighten the hose clamps. do us a favor and stick the other end of the anti freeze hose in your mouth.
where is the inlet hose on a mitsubishi eclipse 96 rs, the one that you need to install the water hose adapter. please can someone tell me, i dont have a manual or nothing.....
why is this video all over youtube under like 30 different names. this guy really gets on my god damn nerves. expert village always manages to get the biggest rejects on earth. LEARN TO SPEAK BUDDY
There is NO need to go cutting your coolant hoses, unless your looking for an easy job. Your better off removing your thermostat and pumping Distilled Filtered water directly through.
Different vehicles will have different requirments but salt is something you most definetly do not want pumping through any coolant system. I come from a long family of mechanics, inlcuding myself, if I hadnt I would be out pocket, quite a bit of money.
I assume that hose is the highest point in the cooling system, so when he changes radiator coolant, opening whatever he installed makes sure there is no air bubbles stuck in the system that will cause problems.
Dude, if you don't have a clue as to which hose to cut, close the fucking hood of your car and never open it again unless you think your cat is sleeping on the fans. Let a mechanic do it for you before you hack up your engine harness or your alternator belt trying to find the heater hose. Ya, I know, they are all black, it's kinda confusing, but still, dont open the hood of your car ever again.
the t system is cheap and very inexpensive saved me lotsa money doen it urself but i must admit for a mechanic he sure does have problems holding that screw driver on the hose clamps wow that drove me nuts
**Well done video--downright professional & very helpful. Am sure I could do this job myself now, tho I have never done it before. Be sure to view all the videos(by expertvillage) for this job before trying to repeat it**
no, he cut that hose and installed the t-fitting for shits and giggles, he put it all back right after the filming. he just wanted to show us how bad ass he was at cutting some random hose under is hood.
