Only elbows were not allowed. Bill did was better in this fight but Ramon was just comming back from a series of injuries (ankle). This was not the Dekker as we saw against Coban (early years).

Ramon Dekker is a legend. His spirit caused his early downfall. Like he said in interviews, when someone challenged him he always fought even when he was injured. That being said even at the same age Danny Bille would have given Dekkers ALOT of problems. Just watch his strategy in this fight, he uses against Dekkers the exact kind of weapons that Dekkers was never good against. Straight punches and Thai clinching. Dekkers always hated those, that and elbows.

Dekker's was known for his fighting spirit moreso than technical skill. While he was no doubt skilled he wasn't ever as polished as someone like Danny Bille, who is a guy who could beat Thais by being MORE technical than them. Dekker's legacy is his never die attitude and ferocity . A guy like Danny Bille was technically better than Dekkers but his style didn't inspire people the same way. But make no mistake Bille was the better fighter this fight.
