  • it's not wacky the way the outputs are split. The industry standard Boss DD3 is EXACTLY THE SAME. It's useful to have a dry and a wet out. if you just plug one cable it will be mixed. man :/

  • Does anyone know how many loops you can have playing over each other at the same time? Also, can you play it mono?

  • hi i want to but a pedal that i can record me playing a riff at the start of the song then be able to turn it off it then store it then have it play it back in another part of the song. am i being ignorant or do they all do this? thaNKS

  • The reviewer should've figured out what he was going to loop, then play over... Because that sounded so messy and crap

  • awesome delay\looper pedal. i want one badly

  • Do you have to have two outputs? Can you just use it with one amp only

  • @hfirminator yes you can, this guy doesn't know his onions

  • 311 :)

  • Sorry, but when I have to skip through massive chunks of the vid to hear you actually playing the damn thing, that's not what I'm here for.

  • lol "And then I realized... GEARWIRE has five amps..." Great setup; I think I'll watch:D

  • Save the detail for the MANUAL. We're here to HEAR the unit, not your voice.

  • man where's the dotted eighth note delays?

  • Great rundown of the pedal. I don't know why people are complaining so much

  • 'the lossy generations of magnetic tape' WTF??

  • @olipickrockgod He means the lossy regenerations of magnetic tape. IE: Each successive echo gets darker, just like with a real tape machine.

  • @amberience ah so why didnt he just say that..?

  • My page has better demos for this product. I play songs and break down how I use the pedal..

  • this guys such a bitch. cool pedal though

  • These demoes always suck.

  • Stereo amps is a terrible idea for a demonstration of a looper/delay

  • little less conversation, little more action....

  • @BLUERIDGE111 nice elvis reference

  • nice loafers virgin

  • You really should understand all the controls before doing a review ! This

  • while the loop is playing, could you use any of the delay modes? or is the dry output your only option for playing over your loops?

  • Kt tunstall made me buy one

  • Well thanks to your vid, I see that page 7, items #3 & #4 in the manual ARE WRONG.

IT DOESN'T WORK THAT WAY. Jeez. Anyway, thanks again. And ignore the haters,

your vid & playing are fine. Frickin' whiners....

  • Are you drunk? You seem a little drunk when you speak.

  • Less talk, more rock.

  • Great review, but it would be nice if you went into more detail.

Where were the copper in the cables sourced from? Carbon date the chassis

and talk more, play less. We need to know these things!

  • jonny greenwood mastered this

  • Sounds easy when you put it like that, but I wasn't getting any sounds, just a one second noise which was hard to work out, then nothing. Works OK now tho, the manual is wrong with its knobs!!

  • Hey I've had this pedal a week, and the instructions are shit. At least after watching this vid I can get the thing to work. The manual must have been written for astro-physicists or something. So thanks for the vid man!!

  • @marksandland208

I dont understand how people dont know how to use pedals. Change the knobs and listen to what changes and set it to how you like it. Who really needs the manual anyway?

  • @KablesP true true!

  • @ 4:29 lmao "wow it's getttin Hawt in heree!" lol

  • fucking annoying voice and shittest sounding loop you could have played! fuck off

  • Surely the easiest way to sort out the effect going to a seperate amp is to send both outputs to a mixer and then to one amp.

I think I'm gonna have to agree with all the other comments though.

Too much talking and not enough playing !!

  • ian williams uses this in don cab. sometimes 2 at the same time. shits bomb.

  • ian williams uses this in don cab. 2 sometimes. shits bomb.

  • "There is not much memory on here" So much talking and you didn't read the manual?

  • hope the pedal sounds better than ur voice

(jonny greenwood of radiohead also uses this pedal)

  • Should i go with this or with the Digitech Hardwire DL-8?

  • i throw my DD-7 in trash when i get akai headrush :p

  • This Pedal ? Boss RC-2 ? Or Hardwire Looper ?

  • @Ashjaah27 Or the Digitech Jam Man. Oh the dilemma!

  • @Ashjaah27 have you tried TC ELECTRONICS Nova Delay???

  • @meirelesgabriel no i havnt seen that one, i have seen the nova repeater, that looks awesome, however im having a dilema with gear atm, theres loads of stuff im looking at but cant decide.

  • Dude... you can put your guitar in the clothes dryer and get the same sound! Set it on for 1 hour and you can have infinite repeats and if you want more you can turn the knob to the right and set it for another hour and have more infinite repeats!! And if you have five clothes dryers you can borrow all of your neighbors guitars and put them in too!!! Thanks for the video and saving me the money! I'm sure your intentions were good but really... there should be a law about talking in these videos!

  • shut the fuck up and play

  • I've heard there is a lot of noise in these pedals

  • @huzza most I've heard are where people are using a daisy chain adapter with too many other pedals (uses Boss-type). It's better using off one adapter (theirs).

This guy needs to get to the point in this video!

  • What? 170€ and they just build 16bit converters in there - what a bad joke

  • I have a few questions hopefully you can answer. I noticed when you were playing tin the loop mode there was not a whole lot of delay. I just got mine today and I am not sure if there is something wrong but it has so much delay in the loop mode and I would rather it be cleaner. How can I control that. Also in some of the tutorials I guitarist using a michrophone through it with a guitar at the same time. How is this done with just one input.

  • should i get this or the memory man with hazarai?

  • Just got this beauty in the mail today!!! I've played around with a few loopers like the RC-20, Jamman, Loopers on the DL4 and the DD-20, but this looper is amazing. Sooo easy to use and no latency going back into the groove and it sounds incredible through my rig. Like stated in this video it's great going back into the down beat and it sounds so smooth and tight not to mention the great tape echo delays you get out of this as well as other normal delays. Definitely recommend this pedal!!!

  • this pedal is specific to guitar or guitar? in both instruments, the performance is good?'m looking to buy here in Brazil and would like someone to enlighten me, thanks.

  • @frs123w this pedal is specific to both guitar and guitar

  • thanks for clarifying my doubt...

Blz? Abraço

  • @frs123w It's good for guitar, bass, keyboards line level balanced or unbalanced (what they claim).

btw don't pay more than $160 w/shipping free for those in the US.

  • In my experience the boss RC20 was quite difficult to get the loops to be in time. No matter how hard I concentrated I could never get the loop to start on time.. it was always a little late

  • you can overdub more than he shows and also click back to the original loop that you recorded.

  • love the old e1 version bought it the day it came out, but the unit clips, you notice big time if you use it in a recording setup.

don't agree with the video, the outs are whacky they are very useful if you run multiple amps with an a/b switch, no other pedal does this.

the loop is cool, but not much time to play with and sometimes the click of the pedal is heard in the loop, kind of a bummer.

  • jonny greenwood has this pedal. fuck yea

  • can you loop more than 2 loops?

  • can you edit the recorded loop, i mean after you record a loop, can you play it backwards? thanks

  • no... it's very basic...

  • @bigskymind81 The only looper I've heard of that does reverse looping is the Boss RC-20. The RC-50 might do it but I'm not sure.

  • @djr5027 The DL-4 does reverse too

  • @cvo223 Yeah but I'm talking about straight up loopers, the DL-4 is a delay modulator with a looping option in it that I'm not too crazy about I've used it for a while.

  • can anybody please tell me if this pedal is a good option for sombody looking mostly for a loop station? the loop station mode seems pretty basic , is there redo/undo ? and memory bank? beautiful pedal and sounds awesome but im mostly looking for loop station , how does is hold up to the boss rc- 2 or rc - 20 xl ??? and the digitech loop station ?? any comments or suggestions are much appreciated

  • If you want a loop station, get a loop station.

This is a delay pedal with a looper and few other frills.

  • Hi, im looking at it for a loop station aswell. Ive had a go on the boss rc2 and i wasn't impressed, its very hard to use and too small. I think the boss rc20xl and digitech jaman have more features, but are more expensive and aren't as easy to use.

  • can the wet & dry go thru one output? surely you dont need two amps? how does it compare to the boss versions?

  • this pedal is awesome. Ive got it. It costs 450 and you get an awesome delay, tape echo simulator and fantastic looping station all in one. the tap/tempo function makes all the difference in a delay. I would pay that much for the delay alone. The tape echo mode allows you to use four outputs and the delay lets you use two. buy it. Its half the price of an EH Memory man or t rex replica, but it's the same quality

  • 450? you got ripped off.

  • um no he didnt, hes from australia

  • *they generally pay alot more for everything, so im sure its a fair price to him

  • i see. wow i feel silly now. haha

  • gotta love the headrush

  • 450?? what currency?

  • i'm confused, can i use just one output?

  • Woops. Oh dear.

  • which one is better, the line6 dl-4 or this pedal?

  • the Dl4 has more features but it's more expensive.

  • How do you extend the recording time?

  • has it an aux in ?

  • so this is the kt tunstall's famous pedal =/! GREAT!! =D

  • can this record a loop from a source outside my guitar?

  • if you mean other instruments or like vocals then yes...at the same time i think

  • you will need a mixing desk as the akai only has one input

  • just to add: if you want to add vocals, tambourine, etc you will need to mix your mic w/ guitar into a mixer which then goes into the loop pedal. from the loop, it will go into house PA. IMPORTANT: the AKAI has two outputs (dry and wet) which is super important if you decide to go into PA and use guitar as drum like KT Tunstall.

  • Boss RC-2 or this Head Rush? For live performance and rehearsals...

  • headrush

  • headrush

  • but how bout rc 20?

  • rc-20 might be out of this guys buget

  • rc-20, handsdown. or, two headrushes like Ian Williams.

  • The 2nd time knob appears to give a modulation effect - slightly de-tuning the signal moving from a chorus type effect to more extreme effect on the signal?

  • do they have a bas version of this?

  • No, I dont think so, but i've seen someone using this with a double bass. Sounded fantastic.

  • No, but the bassist of Russian Circles uses it and it sounds great.

  • The guitarist uses it as well, quoted in an interview on saying how reliable the headrush is, no latency etc :)

  • @JxLamdin090 Yeah, Mike Sullivan. Saw Russian Circles play at the First U in Philly, his tone was incredible. He had a bunch of stuff on his board. Fulltone ocd, keeley modded tubescreamer, fulltone deja vibe, digitech jamman, mxr mirco amp, EH memory man and a memory boy, and some other stuff I can't remember haha

  • @djr5027 Marcus Miller uses it too :)

  • what about the replication of the loop? can you stop it and play it again, similar to the DL4's loop?

  • can't seem to locate your second video

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome! Thankyou so much for this video. Great explanation of the colours, functions, modes...and a COOL loop and jam!!!
