ur belief is correct! earlier on tapes and now on cd's; i've a collection of almost all the songs i like including this one. The very first time i listened 2 dis song in Rafi Saab's Rare Gems collection part1or 2. That collection is one of d best compiled
by HMV.. I must admit that i never used 2 visit dis site before i got 2 know dat dis site hosts almost u name it n dey 've it kinda stuff. I visit dis site to 4 these oldies
I 've grown up listening to these music; thanx 2 my parents 4 that. However i never knew dat this melody was filmed on sujeet kumar n dat unknown actor. Forget the picturisation of this song & u will never cease 2 appreciate this n hundred's of other melodies sung by our beloved, son of God himself Mohd. Rafi saab.
I don't know if u r of young generation like me or not but if u r then i m very pleased 2 know dat people still r blessed wid devine taste n aroma 2 appreciate d real Gem. Thanx :-)
Thank for uploading one more rare song of Rafi. C.Arjun also composed music of Punarmilan, Mein aur Mera Bhai. There is a long list of MDs who composed only for one two or three films but are still remembered for those songs. Ram Lal,Lachhi Ram,N.Dutta,G.S.Kohli,Sardar Malik,Jamal Sen,S.mohinde,Suhridkar.
We must thank B or C or whatever grade films that gave us chance to hear such melodies of those talented MDs.
C ARJUN was a less known but very talented composer and composed some outstanding songs, the best of them surely would be GHAM KI ANDHERI RAAT MEIN from the movie SUSHEELA sung by RAFI SAHAB AND TALAT SAHAB. Our industry has many examples of such talented composers who got crowded out in the plethora of riches of the times. The other names that come to mind are Sapan Jagmohan, Sonik Omi, Dattaram, Iqbal Qureshi, who wasted their music in B/C grade films. Thanks for this lovely song.
@mohan63054 - Very valuable comment you just made, my dear friend.
I know that these are very sensitive issues to discuss, especially I being a "foreigner" but I can not stop myself mentioning my two cents worth ideas here.
As you said, though we had plenty of talented MDs then, what is really lacking NOW are MDs of THAT caliber, I sincerely believe.
We have many talented singers but no MDs who can compose "Real Hindustani Music" like good old days, sadly!
A lot of the music of the yesteryears was based on the classical ragas and the folk tunes. These appealed to the masses and some movies ran only because of the music. In fact, heroes like Biswajeet, Joy Mukherjee, Rajendra Kumar et al., were jubilee heroes only because of the lovely music in their movies. Nowadays, the MDs rely more upon imparting techno pop, hip hop and other western trends in their music. The results are there to see. People's tastes have not changed.
Alas, the creme de la creme of the Hindustani music fraternity suddenly vanished after the late 70s and the early 80s. The present generation of MDs is not even a faint replica of these giants. Those MDs will never come back. Nadeem Shravan and Ram Lakshman kept the banner flying albeit for a very small time. I guess we are reconciled to hearing the techno pop and hip hop noise that passes off as music. If nature is cyclic the good times will come soon
Hello Yuan. TY. Never heard it before but it's great number. C. Arjun was a very knowledgeable MD. Unfortunately, he didn't do well. He did have a superhit song in 1976.."Main To Aarti Utaroon" in film Jai Santoshi Maa sung by Usha Mangeshkar.
I remember Sheikh Mukhtar also produced some movies as I can't remember exactly now but the only movie I watched in local cinema was "Noor Jahan" the movie was based on the life of mogul empress Noor Jahan. The movie was full of beautiful romantic songs. Cheif characters in the cast were Sheikh Mukhtar himself and Meena Kumari and probably Pardeep kumar. I don't see any of the songs from that movie on Youtube I don' know why?
Great Rafi voice ! So this is Sujeet Kumar in his leading role .Never seen this movie before !! He was amazing in Amar Perm and aradhana. !! You are doing great.
Late Mr. Mohammed Rafi was not only gifted with a divine voice, he was also a very humble and considerate individual. He would help out struggling music directors and would sing for them virtually for nothing.
And he would give his best to these songs. There are countless Rafi songs sung for anonymous music directors which were picturised on forgotten/ forgettable actors. This beautiful song is one of them!
Beautiful comment Jemal ji. Can i add in your comment ?
Have you seen Rafi ji's pictures. In every photo he has beautiful, smile on his face. This can be because of his very beautiful heart with love for all human beings.
c. arjun was another neglected md like usha khanna, sardar mallicj and the likes

@mohan63054 - Thank you my dear friend for the reply.
As you said, I also feel that "many people's tastes have not changed."!
However, do you really think that the caliber of those talented HINDUSTANI Music Composers exist even NOW?
If so, where are they?
Why do they NOT come up in open?
Don't they get a chance in films now?
These are the questions puzzling me for a long time.
Thank you.
